Would recommend they get a generator, we have 2 x 4 hour load shedding in our 1 day/night stay and 1 of our friends is a diabetic (insulin injection) who has to eat 2 hourly, microwave, fridge and air conditioner work.

We had a very nice stay. The room was very nicely furnished and it was comfortable. The shower was lovely and wonderfully warm after a cold day. We slept very well in the delicious, soft, warm bedding. Hester went to great lengths to make sure we felt at home and there were even some nice treats on the tray. If we have to spend the night in Pretoria again, we will definitely inquire there first!

We only checked in at 9 o'clock in the evening due to the long drive to work. Hostess waited for us and kindly showed us everything. Location is near the hospital for next day and near a shopping center.

I planned to spend two days in Ashley Gardens. My email was promptly responded to, and I was able to conveniently book a room and pay the deposit. I was kindly received, and received keys to the security gate and my room from the staff present. My arrival was responded to promptly, and breakfast arrangements were made via WhatsApp. Outside the room, the sounds of the water fountain created a lovely peaceful atmosphere. The room was very tidy and there was milk, biscuits, coffee (with and without caffeine), tea (Ceylon and rooibos), chocolate and even a glass of red wine with the refreshments on the tray. I did not use the DStv service, but the system was functional on inspection. I was able to connect my phone to the WiFi network with the username and password that was on a piece of paper on the bedside table. My breakfast was on time, as booked, and exceeded all expectations. Fruit bowl with muesli, egg and bacon and delicious fresh coffee. Room service was available during the day, and in the evening I could relax in a clean room. The second day I was able to easily pay the outstanding balance and checked out. I would happily stay at 178 Club again and can recommend it as a great overnight destination.

I found the short time I was there (only to spend the night) very pleasant. It's quiet and within walking distance of the place where I had to work. The hostess, Hester was very friendly and helpful and did everything to make my stay as comfortable as possible, but without being "intrusive" (if you know what I mean). Very professional with a good combination of genuine South African hospitality while respecting my privacy. I slept really well.

Beautiful and has all the facilities mentioned in the description. Firts B&B that treated me to a glass of sherry at arrival. Stunning, clean unit and very comfortable. We didn't have breakast there because we had to attend a business breakfast. I should also mention that the best restaurants are nearby. Ideal for busniess lunches or even for families. 5 Star accommodation, without a doubt.
