The person who received us was friendly, but was in a bit of a hurry and did not provide us with any information about the WiFi and load shedding etc. not. So we could not access the WiFi. It would also have been nice if they had notified us that they were turning off the generator at 10pm. It was pitch dark and quite scary to get there in the dark after our dinner date — a light in the hallway might help. There were no pillows on our bed and the (lumpy) extra pillows in the drawer didn't have pillowcases. I then informed them, after which they at least brought us pillows. I also feel they could upgrade the towels. However, the room and bathroom are very nice and stylish. I might just recommend that they provide filter coffee ("plunger") in the room. The breakfast was very nice, but unfortunately there was no good coffee available either. They might also consider playing music in the dining room for some atmosphere.
Get a new generator ASAP. Make sure your guests understand the rules, there was a guest in room no 1 who played a lot of loud music until early Tuesday morning.
It starts with the communication. Esme always lets you know if she's right for you. She and Nico are excellent hosts, and it actually feels like you're coming home. The rooms are always very neat and clean, and well equipped. Check-out is easy, and you always feel safe. The SLOW store's cash vouchers for Sunday breakfast are a winner.

We only stayed one night for a family function, but were just as warmly received as long term guests. The rooms are excellently equipped and beds very comfortable. The fact that there is no breakfast on a Sunday had no influence on our stay. The vouchers for the coffee shop near the guest house are a bright idea and a good choice. We will definitely visit 2 Owls again.
I recommend 2 Owls Guest House to any parent who wants to spend a day or two in Potch to visit with their "student" children. It is conveniently located and the service and accommodation are top notch!

Great rest on a firm orthopedic mattress. Sink in the bathroom is perhaps too high for short people.
I was a little surprised to find the establishment to be located in a different setting than the photos presented on the booking page. The aerial photograph with two cars parked in the driveway led me to expect the location to be in the country. The hostess was very friendly, and because we were leaving very early in the morning, gave us vouchers for a nearby coffee shop which we used for a late afternoon delightful meal. The room was tidy and clean, however, the bathroom was a little disappointing. The basin tap was loose and the shower head was broken; each time we turned on the tap, water spouted all over the bathroom. There is no air conditioning, and opening the windows invited the nearby heavy-traffic noise inside the room. We used the fan, but again, the fan noise prevented one from a peaceful night's sleep. Overall, 2 Owls Guesthouse is a suitable night-over for business. The gardens are beautifully kept and Wi-Fi is stable. I was pleasantly surprised with full DStv channels. We will stay here again.
Esme, the owner, is extremely helpful. The rooms are beautiful and the layout is fantastic. There is a large lawn for the children to play and the breakfast is top notch! I recommend any visitor to Potchefstroom to stay here. They are equipped against load shedding which helps a lot. First class!
From arrival to departure it was just a pleasure to stay here. 2 Owls also minimized the impact of 4-hour load shedding, with on-site power generation as well as emergency lighting available in every room. Clean, tidy with focus on the details in each room, excellent and friendly staff.
The owner of 2 Owls let my children from the University enjoy breakfast with them at no extra cost. They are very sociable and they are friendly people who warm one's heart. We would highly recommend 2 Owls Guest House and will use their services again.

There was a mistake with our booking. Owner did not have the correct room for us for the first night, was not a pleasant experience. She moved us to a better room for the 2nd night. She mentioned that the discussion didn't go through or anything like that. Don't think I will stay there again.

Beautiful luxury rooms, we were a family and were able to get 2 rooms with a door between us. Lovely porches in front of the rooms with benches overlooking the large lawn. Breakfast was tasty, safe premises near the university. Will definitely stay there again if we need accommodation in Potch.

Esme from 2 Owls received us and showed us around the lovely guesthouse. The gardens and rooms were immaculate. We enjoyed our stay and will recommend it as a superb break away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

We stayed well, rooms are new and beautiful, but had neighbours and their rooms were between our family's rooms, which meant a lot of noise from 04:00 to 04:30. We could not sleep. The water pipes are noisy and not very sound proof.

Very neat, clean and big room. The bed was great. It was just a shame that there was a big and loud party on the premises next door, that went on until 03:00.

Beds were lovely and large. We did ask specifically if the breakfast was included, and although we received confirmation that breakfast was included, did they never let us know that they did not provide breakfast on Sunday mornings? So that was very disappointing.

Not good value for our money. There was no fan or air conditioner in the rooms. Friends of ours stayed elsewhere in Potch at the same time as us (Aardklop) and paid the same rate as us. The personal detail of the other guest house was exceptional - biscuits at the coffee station, oats crunchies every day on the mirror cabinet, juice and cold water in the mini fridge, etc. None of this was at Two Owls. The hostess at Two Owls was texting naggingly to remind us to pay the rest of the accommodation as if she was afraid we'd walk away in the night.

The place is very nice, close to town and served very nice breakfast. The only problem is that the rooms are very cold with no heating at all.
We were kindly welcomed and the directions were well laid out. Our room was ready when we arrived and everything was beautifully clean. The room is nice and big and nicely furnished with a beautiful bathroom. Unfortunately we couldn't have breakfast in the morning, but Esme offered to give us scones with the morning coffee, which unfortunately we couldn't enjoy either, because we had to rush for a family obligation. The dining area of the guest house is also nicely furnished and spacious. Truly beautiful.
After a long day of travel and functions the mattress at 2 Owls Guesthouse was just the best we've ever slept on. The guesthouse is less than a year old with beautiful furniture. Spotlessly clean and spacious rooms. Breakfast was top class and I would love to stay here again. My wife and children were all happy.

The only thing to make it better, would be a bigger variety of things to have during breakfast. Only on the last day were we offered alternative cereals. This, however, is not a showstopper for us to make use of the facility again.
This is not a complaint at all, I feel only I can make one or two recommendations - the shower in the room we stayed in leaks terribly, the whole carpet is wet. There is only canned coffee at breakfast, I would recommend filter coffee.
Very impressed and will visit again.
