Nearby activities include horse riding, bird watching, mountain biking, swimming, fishing, cycling and tennis, tenpin bowling, and an ice rink. uShaka Marine World is a 30 km drive north and Croc World is 25 km drive south.

6 guests' feedbackThe house was good, spacious and had a lovely sea view. It had all the facilities, but unfortunately there was an Eskom outage for over 2 days, so we had no fridge or WiFi. Lighting in and outside the house was set up for power outages. We were disappointed with the area, which is run down and needs a good clean up.
The house is beautiful and tidy, with WiFi and DStv, as well as fans and aircons everywhere. Gary and Michelle made us feel very welcome with everything they did for us and our animal children. The house has a beautiful sea view and a nice braai area, all amenities such as tumble dryer, washing machine etc. We recommend A Whale's Tale to everyone, we just had a great holiday there and are already planning our next one there again.
Garry and Michelle are wonderful people and their place is absolutely beautiful. More than just a vacation spot, your own little house by the sea.
Wonderful peaceful atmosphere! The roar of the sea, bird sounds, just what one needs to rest wonderfully. Neat house with everything one needs. Thank you very much for a wonderful pampering holiday! Can't wait to go again!
We had to postpone our holiday in March 2020 after we had already booked with The Whales Tale for the week, the owners had no problem booking our holiday for the 2021 year. We were warmly received and really appreciated it. We really rested and enjoyed our time.
This was more than just a home away from home. It has absolutely everything you need and more. The host, Gary, went out of his way to accommodate our needs, and even arrived with a surprise birthday cake and balloon for my father in law! So special. Much thought has gone into what guests may need when they stay there. The decor and layout of the house is fantastic too. Wish we could have stayed longer! We will definitely be back.

House rules
1. Check-in time is at 14:00 and check-out time is strictly at 10:00.2. The house has 3 bedrooms with a queen-size bed in each. Therefore a maximum of 6 people may be accommodated. Unauthorized guests may incur the extra guest fee.
3. Guests are not allowed to smoke inside the house. Violation of this rule will incur an additional cleaning fee. You’re welcome to smoke on the veranda.
4. Please don't eat or drink in the bedrooms.
5. Please observe quiet times after 22:00 as a courtesy to the neighbours.
6. Pets are welcome - but please note they are not permitted on the beds or furniture. Please clean up after your pets. There is a garden spade available. When returning from the beach with your dogs, please rinse them off with the hosepipe to remove any beach sand before they swim in the pool.
7. Please save electricity and water wherever possible. Please switch off lights and air conditioners when you are out of the property.
8. Please do the dishes before checkout. A dishwasher is available for your convenience. An additional charge may be levied for unwashed dishes.
9. Guests are welcome to use the washing machine and tumble dryer. A token amount of washing powder is available, but thereafter please supply your own.
10. You will be provided with a set of keys and remotes to the property. Please take care not to lose them to avoid extra charges.
11. Please do not put any surfboards or other hard objects in the swimming pool. It is a fiberglass pool and will get damaged.
12. No parties, events, bachelor/bachelorette parties. No video productions or photo shoots without prior consent.
13. A cleaning service may be arranged for your convenience at an additional cost. Please advise the owners in advance if you require this service.
