Comfortable accommodation in Swellendam's main street. Our dogs had a designated area to run outside and there is secure parking. Excellent communication from the owner. The nursery has beautiful plants too!

We stayed one night. The lady was extremely accommodating and even found a plug point for our car fridge. The accommodation was clean but very small, perhaps more suited to a single person. The bed had a window behind it and not a headboard, which is not ideal for relaxing in bed.

Beautifully located at the foot of the mountain.
This was an overnight stay. the room was pretty and comfortable, and the house and garden were beautiful. We did not really engage with any staff except for a brief welcome, after which she left. There was no one around when we needed something from the kitchen, although we were offered the use of the kitchen. It would have been nice if there were more than 2 tea bags in the room. We could also not use the TV, as there were no instructions left (and no one to ask).

We received a friendly welcome from the host upon arrival. The bedroom was inviting. The bed was comfortable and the shower had great pressure. The bedroom is just extremely hot during loadshedding as the fan above is switched off.
On arrival there was no indication where the reception is, the room was pretty clean, but there were no towels in the room. We had to buy glasses because there was only one glass in the room. Didn't want to bother caretaker as he took very long to respond to previous requests. Swellendam is a beautiful town with lots to do. WiFi also very unreliable.

Secure parking within the yard. Clean and tidy. Good mattress and linen. Staff were very helpful. No effort was spared. Went out of their way to make us comfortable and meet our needs.
We enjoyed a lovely weekend getaway in Swellendam. John and Yvette received us warmly and their communication was excellent. A bonus was that the house and yard were also safe for our dog. The aloe vera nursery on the same premises is beautiful and well worth a visit.
Our room was on the upper level which required walking up a flight of stairs with baggage. The room was clean and neat with an en suite, coffee station and small fridge. We had a comfortable night's rest. The establishment has wifi but due to loadshedding we cannot rate the quality.

Waited at the gate for several minutes before being assisted, despite 3 or 4 phone calls, when eventually a staffer allowed us in and showed us to our room. We never saw anybody again thereafter.

Aan de Bergen was clean and tidy and beautifully furnished. In addition, the owner was extremely friendly and helpful and made us feel so at home! She was able to give us good advice about routes and activities in the area. We really enjoyed staying here and would definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area again.

This was our third stay at Aan de Bergen and we go back there every time because it is slightly outside the 'busy' town center so you feel you are not in the hustle and bustle, but also close enough to visit all the restaurants and shops . It's an older guest house, but very nice and nicely furnished and definitely worth the rate. Thanks to Alana and her husband for being so kind and helpful. We are big animal lovers, so the loving cat and dogs were a lovely bonus!
I slept very well, it's just a shame that the guest house does not offer meals, especially breakfast.
The self-catering unit directly next to the guest house perfectly met my requirements: Privacy, safe parking within the yard, friendly owners and helpful staff. The unit has just been renovated, spotlessly clean and tidy with all essentials provided. Good value for money.

We had a great time staying at Aan de Bergen. The little pool was a big bonus. The room is small, but well equipped with a nice veranda. A bar fridge in the room would be very handy. Breakfast was nice and more than adequate.

Guesthouse is relatively close to the town centre, but in a quiet neighbourhood and has secure parking. Room on ground floor was spacious and clean with private entrance. Breakfast cooked to order and served with a smile, though not exceptional. If possible enjoy it on the veranda with stunning mountain view. Recommended!
