89 guests' feedbackUnfortunately not. Place as well as bedding stank of musty a. g. v the water damage in the walls, the geyser is either boiling hot or freezing cold so couldn't use shower. In my opinion it is not worth R500 a night.

Stay was amazing. Relaxing, peaceful and just what we needed. Would love to have taken my doggie kids for walks through the orchids and mountains.
Very nice. We just struggled with the hot water. The gas bottle had been replaced with a full one, but the water still got cold every now and then. So, while taking a shower, we had to get out first, open the sink faucet first, then open the shower faucet and wait for the water to warm up. Furthermore, we had a very nice stay. Als very nice and neat and clean.
The cottage has pretty much everything you need. A grater and egg spatula may be provided in the kitchen. We had a great time, only the weather didn't cooperate, so an indoor barbecue area would have been nice.

The place is very cutely furnished and everything you need is there. The view is beautiful and it's dead quiet there. The only thing I would ask the owner is to look at the showers. The regulation of the temperature is a bit difficult so whether you burn terribly or freeze. Furthermore, I am very satisfied with the place. Will definitely stay there again.
There were actually 3 single beds in Sally Housie. I was looking for accommodation for 3 adults, but the 4 suited us well. I was informed that there was one double bed room with a bathroom en-suite, and another room with 2 single beds and a separate bathroom. However, what we found was only one bathroom en-suite, and a room with 3 single beds. The absence of a separate bathroom was inconvenient as this meant one had to go into the other bedroom to get to use the bathroom. It was also inconvenient to using the bathroom facilities. It wasn't a train smash for us, as we just needed it to freshen up and dress for the wedding; we were hardly there. We only got back at about 4 am, sat outside and had a breakfast date at 9.30 am the following morning. This was when it was most inconvenient as 3 people had to shower, etc. Otherwise, it was great. But in future, more clarity please on what exactly the inside is like. The kitchen is well equipped and clean, so for people wanting a tranquil, safe and quiet place to getaway, this is good value for money.
We had a nice stay. Everything was completely adequate. The only point I will address is the gas geyser. There is a note indicating that they are aware of the problem, but I would suggest that they address the problem themselves as soon as possible. Nevertheless, we had a very nice stay and I would be able to recommend it to other travelers.

Can get pretty cold in the winter, but is really a very nice place with the most beautiful view. So nice to be able to hear nature and be away from the noise of the city.
This is a centrally located accommodation that gives you access to see all the attractions in the area.
It's a shame one cannot use the fireplace because as I walked in I thought: Yay!!! We can have a fire. On departing we did inform the owner that the toilet was blocked up and had to use buckets to disperse the contents, and that the one towel smelled as if it had been dried over a fire/braai. If you are looking for basic accommodation that is what you get.
Lovely area to visit. The children enjoyed the walks on the farm and visiting the dam close by. Accommodation was adequate, nothing fancy but with everything one would need.

The cottage is neatly furnished but more facilities such as wood and extra bedding would be nice. There is only a two-plate stove, which is impractical for the price they charge. The shower is a big problem with hot and cold water not running together. Otherwise, a beautiful view. We slept well.
The houses are located on a beautiful farm. Very nice view. Very peaceful and relaxing. You can have a nice walk. The cottages are also well furnished. We really enjoyed our stay.

The location is excellent. Beautiful farm setting. Lovely view. However, what was disappointing is the hot water. First you burn and then it gets cold even before you have finished applying soap. Then geyser doesn't want to turn on again etc. And who still uses shower curtains. For the price you have to pay you expect better. Price exorbitantly high for what you get.

Happy and suited for our needs. We stayed dry and warm through a massive storm. Will visit again.
The reception and all of the arrangements were good. The accommodation was convenient and all of the expectations were met. There was just a problem with the water pressure with the gas geyser which caused the warm water not to flow properly.
We needed accommodation for a wedding in the area. We only needed a place to sleep, so it was suitable. No play facilities for children.
We enjoyed our time at the cottage thoroughly, everything was neat and tidy. We had friendly neighbours in the cottages next door and the friendly farm dogs came to visit us every morning. One thing I would just ask is to maybe leave a box of matches in the cottage so guests can light the lamps! We struggled a bit.

It was nice to stay there, only the place was a bit small.
It was my second time staying there, even if it was only for one night. It's a very peaceful area, the silence is absolutely fantastic. The house was very neat and clean. Only problem is the water and the bathroom door that makes so much noise.
The Jan house is small for four adults, but very neat. Nature around is beautiful. Very nice place to visit with good food and breakfast just around the corner.

We stayed in the Sally House which has 2 bedrooms and it was a lovely experience. Everything we needed was there and we didn't lack for anything. Something to keep in mind is that the bathroom is in the room with the double bed. I will definitely stay at Aanhouwen Cottages again in the future and highly recommend it.
I was pleasantly surprised with the place and will definitely go back.
Some upgrades definitely have to be made. The ceiling in the bedroom has mould on it; the bathroom door grazes the floor and is difficult to close; the basin in the bathroom is too small with the mirror not directly above it which makes shaving quite difficult. Towels are worn and the shower curtain irritating. TV channels are pathetic and unclear. The mirror in the bedroom is too high to sit before to dry your hair. No shelves in the wardrobe. Other than that, clean and neat.

We were 4 people who stayed at Aanhouwen Cottages for the weekend. The farm is very beautiful and peaceful. The houses are nice and big with braai facilities etc. We were just a little disappointed with the kitchen's wiring, our power tripped when we wanted to turn on the kettle and the stove. Luckily there was also a spare gas duster (so it might happen often, but we weren't warned). Other than that, everything was great, one big adventure. I will definitely go back again, and maybe just barbecue every night.
The directions to the Cottages should be improved.
I was mad about the view. We were nicely welcomed. My kids enjoyed the friendly dogs immensely.
There was old pasta in the fridge. And rubbish everywhere on the farm, except right in front of the houses.

We stayed one night and it was lovely.
Elgin/Grabouw is not normally known as a wine destination, but this visit proved that people can safely consider it as such - very interesting wines with unique tastes and characteristics. One point of criticism is that many places to eat are open infrequently and close very early in the afternoon, eating out at night is very difficult.
It was a lovely break from the city. Woke up to a view of the mountains.
Everything you need is at your disposal. We had a wonderful stay.
There is a big problem with water in shower/sink, it changes from hot to cold and one cannot regulate the temperature. There were only 2 small milkshakes in the fridge, I would think they could put at least 4 milkshakes. Then I would redo the window's maintenance with Nu-Glaze if I washed them, it just creates a better impression. Dogs were friendly and nice to see, and the ponds for fishing were great, maybe they could just use a tractor to clear the banks of tall bushes and weeds.
