"Not value for money, false advertising."

We were 2 families who booked at Pride Rock for a week. After many messages with the owner about who was traveling with, we arrived and both rooms had 2 separate single beds. She said they could push it together, I feel like she knew with families traveling together that the adults would want a double bed when you get there. Second, it is advertised that the units are cleaned daily. This is false advertising, in a week the units were cleaned 2 times. Her excuse is that the cleaner doesn't clean when you're there. Nowhere is it communicated like this. On Thursday morning we were not at the unit from just after 6 until about 12 and when I asked why the unit was not cleaned then she said the cleaner only works certain hours and she cleaned the other units. Saturday morning I texted her early morning to say we are going out, can the unit be cleaned. She read the message but did not reply. When we got home at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, the unit was still not cleaned. I contacted her again whereupon she came to the unit. She said again that the cleaner does not clean when you are there. I said it was a convenient excuse, nothing stopping the cleaner from knocking and asking if they could clean the unit. I told her she read my message but she didn't answer me to which her answer was it's the long weekend and she doesn't know when her staff is coming in. When I asked why she didn't let me know she said sometimes they come in late on weekends. I said you don't expect much, just mop floors and the bathroom and wash dishes. She looked at our things in the room and asked how I expected them to be cleaned if they looked like this. I told her we are 4 people in a 4 bedroom room, there are no shelves for your food or place to store your bags, how does she expect with a week's stay you have to store all your things in such unit. When I told her that in the whole week the unit was cleaned 2 times she said she didn't know that and the cleaner only works certain hours and has to clean the other units as well. I told her if the cleaner then starts at the other units it would be logical to start the next day at the ones you don't clean. Not once did she say she was sorry, she kept making excuses and then insulted us with her comments about how the room looked. The 1 bed in Glendower's mattress or base is so crooked, you lie at an angle. The 2 mattresses in Regia are not even the same height, so when the beds were pushed together one bed was higher than the other. The sink in the kitchen is so small you can't wash dishes there, it's a wooden slab around the washing so you have to be careful not to spill water there and there is water dripping somewhere on the floor if you do try to wash dishes . I feel that one pays for a service that is included in the price of the accommodation and if the service is not provided, some of our money must be paid back.

I had a wonderful stay. I was given a different room than I had booked. My room's glass door could close but the security gate's lock wouldn't close. The place is very neat and clean, maybe just a bit of a strange smell.

We needed a bed in Middelburg for a busy weekend at the Morning Star Baptist Church. On arrival, both Kathy and Mossie welcomed us and because we were late, they got the room and gate keys for us. We stayed in Garfield. The rooms are a good size and each has a microwave, fridge and kettle with crockery. It met our needs. There was plenty of sleeping space and plenty of extra blankets. Thank you to Kathy and Mossie for their hospitality.

The room are functionally decorated and aimed at relaxation. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed the facilities: the swimming pool and the braai facilities. Nothing was out of place and everything was enjoyable. We had a delicious breakfast and the communal kitchen us a sign that they aim to please the guests. To top everything, Karl lend us chairs for the two days that our daughter was playing netball so we could be comfortable supporting her. We felt like family at Aero Rock. We will definitely visit again and tell everyone about Aero Rock.

I was very pleasantly surprised with Aero Rock. Starting with the excellent location in a safe and tidy neighborhood close to the shopping center. The guest house is beautiful, the photos on LekkeSlaap are a true version. My unit was spacious, fully equipped for self-catering and spotlessly clean. The reception was warm and friendly, the owners are empathetic people and really go the extra mile to look after their guests' needs. Upon my arrival I was taken on a tour of their facilities and thoroughly briefed on all the services provided. On the first night of my stay, a takeaway meal was arranged for me to be delivered, and at a very special discounted price! On top of that, after my hot ride from Pretoria, Karl greeted me with a 2l Coke from his personal fridge and didn't even want to accept payment for it. I can highly recommend Aero Rock!

I waited half an hour in front of the gate and rang the bell before the owner came to meet me. Impersonal and inhospitable. I wasn't asked whether I would like dinner or breakfast, no suggestions were made. I wasn't given any short tour of the environment and swimming pool which would have made me feel more at home.
