9 guests' feedbackWe were deeply disappointed by AfriCamps at de Pakhuys. Upon arrival, we were very happy with the tents themselves. They were lovely and clean. However, shortly after arrival, we had no electricity or running water, even though the property advertises not to be affected by load shedding. We immediately notified reception. By midday the following day, the inverter had still not been assessed. This was a constant issue throughout our stay, and not only during load shedding. When we had finally had enough and complained to the person running the place, he promptly told us it was not his problem. He also suggested we just check out on our last night. This was late evening, and we have a baby with us. I found this very unprofessional. He proceeded to race to our tent in an aggressive manner. He claimed to have forgotten to let us know we could walk to fetch water and gave us a bucket to flush the toilet with. Absolutely shocking. The rest of the facilities are unkempt and not clean. A very false picture is painted in the advertising. We have visited a different AfriCamps before and had a good experience. However, here we paid a lot of money to be treated badly. Would like to take this further.
Had a great time. Units were beautiful and spotless and well equipped. WiFi was very welcome as there was no other reception in the area. Outdoor hot tub was lovely under the stars. A definite winner destination and will go again.
The sun is a big problem from noon to 12 o'clock, because there is no coolness on the stoep. If you can sort that out, it's a very nice place to stay. I like the hot tub - the best of all the places we stayed the 2 weeks. The air conditioner is only effective in one room - the bunk room blocks it off for the second room.

Very peaceful atmosphere. You feel one with nature.
The tents were clean and perfectly stocked. The fact that loadshedding did not affect lights and Wi-Fi was a welcome surprise.

We had the opportunity to make an unforgettable memory in our lives forever.
We had a great time, but with loadshedding and the inability of the geysers to store hot water, we could not shower with hot water at the times when we were at camp (between excursions). Our toilet was also blocked and although we reported it to reception, nothing was done/investigated, so our toilet facilities were not optimal either. The echo out there against the rocks is pretty great, and it felt like the band next door were hanging out in our living room on Friday night, so bring earplugs and don't necessarily count on silence, because when they subsided, a band started elsewhere .

Each AfriCamps tent consists of an outdoor wood-fired hot tub or splash pool, a spacious open plan lounge area with a comfortable couch, a dining area with a solid wooden table and seating for five guests, a fully-equipped kitchen, two bedrooms that comfortably sleeps five guests, and a bathroom complete with hot shower, flushing toilet, and washbasin. Both bedrooms are furnished with an extra-length queen-size bed and have their own private entrance which allows maximum privacy. One of the bedrooms also contains a single bunk bed.
