Place should be rated as a back packers accommodation and not self catering.
We had a very nice overnight stay with good safety. The Aladdin's atmosphere is very peaceful and relaxed.
The unit was clean, plain and and we enjoyed staying there overnight. This is not a unit for a holiday.

Really has all you need for that one night. Really comfortable accommodation and hosts are super friendly. We had an 8 legged critter door guard for the night - I wish I could post photographs on this review. I am pretty certain it was a rain spider. We called her Emily. We left her in peace as she was sure to scare any unwelcome guests if they were to arrive! The next morning she was gone. Spiders and jokes aside: if you want to travel Notthingham Road and surrounds and need a bed for the night - Chameleon is the perfect spot.
Very affordable! Booked here again after is wat the only available accommodation a few years ago when it snowed. Received excellent service back then and now again. Do not expect luxury for this price, but take time to have a conversation with people here and explore the shops, books and garden. You'll discover something that you can't buy - passion, sincerity and care.
Was well located, nice hosts but needs some TLC - definitely needs paint and looks very run down.
If you don't want to pay a lot and want a clean place to sleep, this is ideal. The Garden Unit is very small, away from the street and has a nice porch. It's a bit noisy, because it's right next to the Spar's Tops.
The accommodation was neat clean and well situated. The host was friendly and helpful and so were the staff. We would not hesitate to stay there again.
Very reasonable and nice accommodation that is run by two amazing artists. The service was good and very hospitable. Our visit to their gallery (leaded glass and pottery) was the cherry on top and it was very pleasant overnight accommodation.
The accommodation was as advertised. Cheap accommodation for the cost sensitive consumer. Owners are very friendly and helpful.

The unit sits 100m from a Spar with a bottle store, which means it is noisy and lots of people walking up and down the front of the unit. One does not feel safe. The unit also sits right off the main street. Your car parks in the high street with only a small gate protecting it under a dilapidated awning. The unit is very dated, feels cheap, run down and is very small. It literally feels like an outside room that someone half-heartedly tried to convert into a Cottage. The TV is very old, small and does not work. The fridge is a good 20 years old and the furniture looks like something someone threw out and then carried into the unit.

We just want to say a big thank you to Jan and Louise for their hospitality. Also the cute and beautiful handicrafts in their little shop. The stained glass is outstanding.
We spent the night at Aladdin's Chameleon Overnight Accommodation as a pit stop between the South Coast and the Drakensberg. The Midlands Meander and Nottingham Road offer many interesting places to visit, eat at and spend time at. Aladdin's is comfortable, neat and clean and we enjoyed our time there.

The unit had all the amenities we needed, the 1 room was a little small, but the single beds were very comfortable. Louise and Jan van Niekerk were very friendly and helpful.
This is very good accommodation for exploring the area or just staying the night on the way to or from the sea. It was very pleasant to be able to speak Afrikaans.
Aladdin's Chameleon Overnight Accommodation is very centrally located in Nottingham Road. The immediate surroundings cater for all needs. It's cheap accommodation and no more can be expected from the physical. The owners Jan and Louis very helpful together with their staff.

Now not a place I would long to return to.
The unit was very clean and tidy. Don't change anything about the place because it was awesome.
The accommodation is simple and basic. Our priorities were clean linen and clean ablution facilities. This we had and an added bonus was the electric blankets and wall heater. Despite the weather being really cold and damp, we slept warm and well! I wouldn't recommend this type of accommodation for a long stay as the kitchen area is rather cramped and the table is overloaded which leaves almost no workable surface to serve a meal etc.
We were kindly received and had a nice stay.
We were a large group of men wanting to play golf and spend time in the Midlands, and the accommodation was perfect for our group. Quite safe and neat, lock up and enjoy the area and come back again to a nice resting place in the heart of Nottingham Road. We were able to walk to the hotel and the Berfassel. Very nice stay.

Louise and Jan our host were awesome and friendly and made it a very comfortable yet short stay. Just what we were looking for.
Rather expensive for what you get!
The unit is comfortable and clean. Your car is behind a locked gate. The location is convenient for exploring the Meander and there are delicious places to eat in the area with Spar within walking distance.
Soft beds, very tidy rooms, effort made to switch on heaters before arrival, owners friendly and helpful.
