Brilliant, was a stop over on the drive to Cape Town, after staying I wished I had a few more nights here, no complaints whatsoever.

We really enjoyed the place and were able to have a nice quiet time and relax after all the stop/go that goes on on the N1. The service was great and Alicia went out of her way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The environment was very quiet and peaceful and we were far enough from the N1 to not be disturbed at all, no noise from the N1 road. The rooms are well equipped and everything needed was available. We felt very safe and the parking was to my liking, safe and under cover. Thank you very much again.

The guest house was a big surprise in the middle of the Karoo. Wonderful host, nice spacious accommodation and a lot to do in the town on Manna's recommendation. We also had the best dinner at Ka-Ma Restaurant.

Anra Rusgenot accommodation offers everything and more for a peaceful overnight stop. Richmond is a small town and the owner of Anra Rusgenot goes out of his way to make it a success. So fellow travelers are going to support this overnight stop, you won't regret it.
Well located, halfway between Cape Town and Joburg. Communication was excellent. Off-street parking and we felt safe. The room was very comfortable and warm with electric blankets and an aircon/heating. Beautifully decorated and welcoming. It was hard to get up to leave the next morning as it was so comfortable. There are places to eat around town and everything is within walking distance and safe, which is welcoming after a long day in the car.

I have nothing but praise for this guest house. We booked at the last minute and only arrived very late in the evening, during load shedding. Our host did not get impatient about this at all and was helpful at all times. He received us very kindly and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. There was a flask with hot water in our room, so we could enjoy a delicious cup of coffee, during load shedding. The room was beautifully decorated, clean and extremely tidy. The emphasis placed on the finer details makes it feel very much like home. We had a wonderful stay and I would have loved to stay there longer. I can happily recommend Anra Rusgenot.

I was contacted on my way from Rawsonville and asked to contact Andiswa when we were about 20 minutes from Richmond. Andiswa met us and explained what we must do. She is very friendly and professional. The accommodation is excellent and we enjoyed the stay. That bed is one of the best I have slept on! On Sunday morning as we were packing the car, Andiswa came along and wished me a Happy Father's Day!

This is a perfect stop-over between Jo'burg and Cape Town. We were in the stand-alone unit, which is beautifully appointed. Our hosts had thought of everything and offered hot water in a flask the next morning, as there was load shedding. It was lovely staying in the town and hearing the church bell softly ringing through the night.
I chose Rusgenot for having lights, as couldn't imagine arriving in the dark.

We had spent the previous night in a double bed and had been very uncomfortable as a result of the small size. When we got to Anra Rusgenot and saw another double bed we asked if there was anything else available. The double bed was entirely our fault as we had not queried this previously, however, our hostess immediately opened every room they had available so that we could choose which one suited us best. We were very grateful and very comfortable!
Excellent accommodation with the latest technology available. Excellent host. Our dogs really enjoyed it and the garage is a big bonus.

Would love to either arrive earlier next time or stay a day longer — think Richmond deserves to be better explored. Had a chance to visit the art museum — thanks for the recommendation! I had my dog traveling with me and they welcomed her as long as she remained off of the furniture. Very reasonable. The host was very informative about the amenities in the area. The rooms have Chromecast which is really nice for any modern person who might like some entertainment.

Very nice and clean place in the quiet Karoo. The room had everything we needed and more. Was kindly received and Manna was kind enough to turn on the generator for us to heat our food and cook the kettle. The stars in the evening are something incredible, especially if you come from the city. Will definitely stay there again if I get the chance.

Ideally located for us on our way to Cape Town from Nelspruit. Worked very neatly and well for the dog that traveled with. Well equipped.
The Cashier unit was neat and specifically booked because we had two dogs with us. Many thanks for the biscuits, coffee and tea in the unit. Perhaps the gate next to the unit that gives access to the street could be more secured to keep smaller dogs inside.
The Vet muis restaurant is a must for dinner, and it's right opposite Anra, perfect.

I would definitely stay there again. Great was my surprise when I realized that the new owner, Manna, is a former colleague from the NWU. Manna recently took over the guest house and has done wonders. He went the extra mile to make sure I had everything I needed and helped me with my trailer. Richmond is a small town, and the peace and quiet after a day on the N1 was heavenly. Diagonally opposite the guest house is a "road cafe", with the most delicious food, seating under shade trees, and all kinds of trinkets. Absolutely worth visiting. I challenge all my NWU colleagues to stay with Manna and Anra Rusgenot on the way to Cape Town. You will not regret it.
Very warm welcome in a clean, tidy and well-equipped overnight place. Host even helped to find better route to our destination to avoid potholes and road works. Would definitely recommend it highly and will stay there again in the future.

Safe and convenient parking, neat and clean place to stay, in a quiet and historic street with attractions and good places to eat. Excellent for a stopover between Cape Town and Johannesburg.
We arrived later than we expected and were helped right away. They even organised for the nearest restaurant to stay open so we could order dinner. Would definitely use An-Ra again.

Our unit offered everything we needed for one night. Car safely covered and walking distance to places to eat. We also had a great recommendation for a restaurant that was truly a gem.

After a long drive, the air conditioned room was so welcome. The rooms were clean and tidy and we could rest well. Definitely recommend.
Parking problems. Small bath and very little hot water. One power plug to operate the kettle, microwave and oven. At least the bed slept well.

We needed to book accommodation pretty last-minute and they only had one room left that slept a family of 3, but very kindly offered to put a mattress and bedding in the room for our daughter. It was neat, clean and the aircon was an absolute necessity. Will definitely stay there again!

Good value for money. The shower didn't work so well, but that's not a problem.
I left a list for the cleaning lady and removed pictures of the wall as the dust was so thick, the dirt on the TV stand was terrible. I was told the place was sanitized but both the light switches were filthy. The bed is a wobbly base with thin wood as a base plate. The sheet was torn and the lounge sweet was very dirty. Could not find the lady to report it. Glasses and rockery was clean plenary of coffee and tea. They need somebody to go into unit 4 and check the cleaning. I cannot comment on the other units. The gardens weee pleasant and the beast are was ok. I didn't book into this place I was moved there by the owner. They said the gate was broken at the place and they were working on it. I drove there and there was nothing wrong with the gate.

We were warmly received, the bedding and towels were clean but the room itself needs some attention. The fridge makes noise, carpets need a very good wash and it was not possible to open windows as we stayed on the main street. The room also smells of smoke. We also let them know we have 2 yorkies traveling together so the rooms at the back that we could walk outside would be much more convenient.

No one to meet us or say good bye. The guys staying there we're up drinking outside window until 1/2am and then all left at around 4am and moving trucks on the gravel was very disruptive. Not at all conducive to getting rest before a long drive.

We just had trouble getting the hot water faucet of the tub to work. The water also runs in excruciatingly slowly. After an hour and a half there was enough water to bathe in.

We had a power outage on arrival and again when we were due to get up and leave. This was nobody's fault. But the cottage was totally unprepared for power outage. 1 candle. No torch. No gas ring. We ended up after a long journey with nothing to eat or drink.

Although we slept well and our vehicles were safe, I feel that the rate for what the Guest House offers is too high. The guest house was comfortably close to a place to eat and we could just walk.

We arrived at the guesthouse at dusk and were immediately checked in by the person on duty who also called us during the day with her contact details. The accommodation is spacious and neat and we could safely park our car and trailer.
An-Ra is dirty. Bedding old and worn. Other guest with two female guests from town. You can decide for yourself what I mean. The site must be removed.

It is advertised that it is pet friendly but is not. Rusted fridge in room is kept together with brown tape and Prestik. Carpets is dirty with water damage. Aircon was great and DStv channels good! Bathroom and bedding were very clean.

From arrival to departure we had friendly staff to make our stay a lovely experience. Clean, neat, air-conditioning, a bonus under the hot Karoo sun!
The facilities fully meet my needs. It was a quiet time, so the receptionist (I can't remember her name) had to take care of more than one place. While I saw her she was extremely friendly and helpful. She also helped out at the restaurant.
We were welcomed by Liesel and Reinette and were very pleased with our room. We were able to park our car safely within the premises. The room was clean and very comfortable with everything needed. I would only suggest that bath soap be made available in the bathroom. We ate typical peasant food at Die Krip which was delicious.
Nice and tidy, very centrally located. Also went to eat at the Krip restaurant which belongs to guesthouse owners. Friendly and helpful staff, especially the bartender. Unfortunately, the menu's prices are completely out of proportion to the quality received and are more expensive than the best restaurants in Bloemfontein.
The unit is clean and well equipped. There is no disturbing road noise at night and dinner at Die Krip restaurant was delicious! Nice rest stop on the way to the Cape.
Secure parking behind a gate next to the entrance of the units. We stayed in a comfortable room with a bath, mini fridge, TV, and a kettle and mugs to make warm drinks. Beds had electric blankets. Everything was clean and tidy and we received a friendly welcome. A microwave would've been nice to heat-up food for the road, but we had it done at the friendly shop at the petrol station nearby, so no worries - I know space is limited. Please note, the different units are separated by one wall only, so if you're sensitive to the sound of other people, then it might not be ideal during peak season. No complaints, we had a good night's rest.

Very friendly reception by our hostess Reinette! We were very surprised to hear that Die Krip restaurant is opened on Sundays especially only for guests of An-Ra and had a great time eating the mutton. Will definitely stay here again.

Would have liked a small fridge in the room. Do not feel very comfortable that there are dogs sleeping in the rooms.
Sean called the ambulance and took my husband to hospital where he was treated by a friendly doctor and staff. He stayed with us until we returned to the Gastehuis where he assisted with getting my husband back to bed. Thank you Sean.
Our stay at An-Ra guest house in Richmond was very pleasant. Hospitably received and the whole evening was a festival. It was my husband's birthday and we went to eat at Die Krip. We couldn't have asked for a nicer and more convivial evening. Thank you very much.
