The accommodation was beautiful, modern and clean with every amenity you could want. The heaters and hot blankets helped us forget about the freezing weather. The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth every cent. We'll be back!
Tasteful units, centrally located, load shedding is not a problem, quiet and cozy around the fire. Everything you need is at your disposal. Friendly owner we had a wonderful stay!

We were on a sports tour and it was well located near the school in a nice safe area. I could go jogging comfortably without feeling unsafe or that I would get lost. Close to places to eat. Will definitely book with them again should we go there again.

Small things like maybe a towel hook in the shower and a small wash line for wet towels.
We had a great stay and booked the whole place out. The only suggestion is that you look at larger braai bowls, braai tongs and make sure that there are dishcloths. For a long stay, the removal of black bags can also be considered daily. There is nothing wrong with the accommodation and rooms, we had a great stay. See the suggestions as constructive.

Our single night in the self-catering unit at Avo & Oak was perfect, with a luxurious bath in which sore cycling muscles could be soothed. Madeleine was the perfect hostess. The unit's decor was eclectic, tasteful and special with everything we needed and nothing we didn't. A gas heater kept us cozy in the unexpectedly cool, wet weather. We will check in there again anytime.

I booked for business travel under the premise that a guesthouse is offered. I enquired by email about the breakfast arrangements and the owner never responded. When I arrived at the facility she told me it is self-catering. I feel that I was mislead in this way. I also asked by email for an invoice for business requirements and the owner never responded. In this regard the website assisted me. Please note that this room and bathroom is not set up for self-catering as a microwave oven and washing up facilities is not provided. Only a small fridge, kettle and limited crockery is provided.

Beautiful unit, quiet environment. Madeleine went out of her way to accommodate us with a few requests. Just a few recommendations: more hooks for towels, bread knife, brush for barbecue, seat at barbecue. The unit is lovely, but we have experienced that it is more suitable for parents with 2 small children than for 4 adults. We got leaflets about things to do in the area from the Tourism Bureau and left them in the house. Maybe a ladder with such leaflets, nearest washer, etc. Environment is lovely.

Suggestions: Shower mats. more or longer towel rails, hand rails in shower, wine glasses, teaspoons, a lot of space for extra hooks to hang your stuff on. Otherwise is is very neat and modern.

Avo & Oak is located in a quiet neighborhood with the most beautiful gardens and is easy to find. We were kindly received and had a lovely stay there. Very neat place. If you're traveling with a toddler, the guest house is ideal - unit is very neat and stylish without all kinds of frills that need to be put somewhere out of the way for curious, busy little ones. My child is 20 months old and we had a great stay. Will definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful overnight stay at Avo & Oak. Host is friendly and helpful and he directed us to a delicious place to eat. The room was well equipped and although it was bitterly cold, we could sleep wonderfully warm because the electric blankets.

Our family spent a lovely two weeks at Avo & Oak. Madeleine, and in her absence, Diame, were extremely friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean and well equipped. I would only suggest that small things like a grater, scissors and sharp knife(s) be brought in as well. Would recommend the place to anyone.

I really liked the decor, simple style. I might just recommend that they get a drying rack for the wet towels, swimwear. Four coffee mugs would also be handy. We are from Gauteng where we are always aware of security. We felt a little uncomfortable that people walking past in the street could look into the little apartment. A screen / denser fence will solve the problem. We had a great time staying there!
