Photos are always misleading when you make a reservation. Here I have to say 10/10 though. What you see in photos and what you get will take your breath away. It is literally an oasis in the middle of the Karoo. I will definitely recommend Bakgat to any of my friends. Clean, tidy and everything planned down to the finest detail. Highly recommended. It is spotless and also upgrades to solar power. Hot water, neat outdoor barbecue with wood, tongs and fire lighters for free. Frying pan, scissors and everything you need. There is even decaffeinated coffee. Milk, water, soft drinks. Lovely linen and blankets, electric blankets also on comfortable mattresses and loads of quality pillows. 2 large leather sofas. Very secure parking. You guys impress me every time.

There book on the history of Beaufort West is very interesting and educational.
My son got there a little late but was given clear directions on how to enter. It was a bitterly cold evening and the apartment was warm and clean. There is everything one could need and more, a wonderful place to stay on the way to the Cape, but also to stay for a day or more so that one can enjoy the many things that Beaufort West has to offer.
It was very clean and tidy and the price is very good. We will definitely stay there again.

We stayed in the family units. The place is absolutely beautiful. It was clean, tidy and everything worked! Als in the place looks brand new and is of high quality. The braai facilities are also nice and cozy. Our vehicles were right at our accommodation and behind an electric gate. This is our second time staying at Bakgat and we would definitely recommend it. It is a real pleasure to stay in such a neat place. Even before we arrived we knew exactly how to check in with the Covid regulations and had no problems when we got there. Upon arrival, we immediately received a message asking if we were comfortable and had any issues. Will sleep there again next time because it is quiet and peaceful.

This was now the third time that we have stayed overnight at Bakgat Blyplek on the journey from our children and grandchildren in Johannesburg back to our home in Bellville. Each time we are surprised with the attention to detail that this lovely accommodation offers. With the snow on the mountain just outside Beaufort West and the freezing cold, we greatly appreciated the electric blanket. This is not just a Bakgat Blyplek, it is a thousand Blyplek!

Stayed two nights, very nice, clean and safe place. Had big problems with beds, they were basically flat. Our bodies are so sore after the weekend. I got up on Friday night to see if we could turn the mattress, but that didn't help either. Went to sleep in the other room on Saturday night but it was just as bad. Advertisement also has a king-size bed, but it is a queen-size bed. Brought to owner's attention, but he says he can't accommodate everyone. My bed at home is 10 times better. Mattresses are so soft they crack clean when you move on the bed, when you get up your body shape stays on the mattress.

I actually want to make negative comments so that it does not get too popular and I end up struggling to get accommodation there in the future.
After a long day on the road, the friendly welcome by the owner and the neat self-catering unit was a warm home away from home for us. With restaurants a stone's throw away, we walked around the corner and got a takeaway from Spur to enjoy in the comfort of our spacious self-catering unit. The variety of teas and coffees, with even filter coffee, as well as the fresh milk in the fridge was a pleasant surprise. The unit is modern and very well equipped. The air conditioning is well received in the heat of the Karoo. The power went out during the evening, around 11pm, but a generator started up within 30 minutes and with the power back on, we were able to get a restful night's rest with lovely air conditioning. The breakfast at 4Sheep was incredibly tasty and filling. Definitely a package I would recommend to anyone. The unit is even perfect if someone wants to stay for a longer period of time.

We were on our way back to Cape Town from the Northern Cape. We had to choose between the N7 and the N1. Our son is 2 years old and we decided to find overnight accommodation. We saw the profile of Bakgat Blyplek in Beaufort West and decided to take the N1. We travel quite regularly and our needs changed because we have a child now. Bakgat Blyplek exceeded all of our expectations. Highlights include: decor, facilities, Xplora, WiFi, freezer space for meat, spacious, safe parking, good communication, etc. We will really go out of our way just to overnight at Bakgat Blyplek in the future. This luxury residential unit is the ideal stay for a week or two while you explore the area. It is fully equipped and very comfortable.
Bakgat accommodation is tastefully furnished, very tidy and located in a quiet, safe area. It is also located within walking distance of places to eat. The parking area is well laid out, no difficulty at all getting in and out with vehicles. Only improvement that could possibly be made is to add washing facilities for clothes for guests who like to stay longer.

To spend the night in a place to stay where you don't have to worry at all about safety first and then the cleanliness and absolute luxury and tasteful style second. The class, style and fantastic cleanliness was surprising. Genuine leather lounge set and kiat wood lounge table. Glass and leather dining room set, brand new top class kitchen accessories. Granite top kitchen with glass top stove and very modern fridge. Air conditioning in all rooms. Super modern and stylish bathrooms, with lots of fluffy white towels. Safe and tidy covered parking. Even the covered barbecue is packed with wood for a bonfire.

We really enjoyed it, Christiaan Bekker immediately made us feel at home. It was nice to arrive at a guest house for once and everything is ready for you. It's stunningly neat and the whole experience is made to make you feel like royalty. I have stayed there twice now and it was noticeable to me that this was not just a one time event but it seems to me that this is how they operate. They want you to have a good time.

We have a solar system for times of loadshedding. During those times the aircons will not be available, only Wi-Fi, lights and TV. We have gas geysers and therefore hot water is available throughout.
Each unit has an outside braai/BBQ area and undercover parking for 2 vehicles. There is a cozy backyard with a plunge pool.
