Lovely place with lots of character! The breakfast was generous. I asked for soft eggs and received medium to hard eggs. There was an electrical plug on the bed behind the pillow, which was alarming and a fire hazard. When we checked in, there was nobody to welcome us. We had to phone them and check in over the phone. We booked and paid for 2 persons, but there was only 1 teabag. There were no condiments in the bathroom except for body wash and cream. A small soap would have been nice as I assumed small soaps would have been provided. The batteries for the TV remote were flat. Other than that, a very nice place with old world charm.
A must if visiting or passing through Potchefstroom. A house with a lot of history and character. Very hospitable and accommodating host and staff who went out of their way to accommodate us and the extras. Delicious breakfast.

The location of the guesthouse is excellent. We were close to some great restaurants and a spa. Both were within walking distance. The layout of the rooms was also beautiful and unique.

The breakfast was very good portions and very tasty.
The guest house is nicely decorated and makes you feel right at home. The service was excellent with phone calls to make sure we didn't get "lost" and had no other issues. A delicious breakfast was served at the time that suited us.

En-suite bathroom does not have shower and the hair wash shower head at bath does not work. No small fridge in room to keep soft drinks or water cold. No hair dryer. No one available on site - suspect driver stays at other guest house. Could not arrange for breakfast and had to leave without breakfast.

We had an excellent three night stay while at a conference at North West University! We were efficiently and warmly received and directed to two large beautifully furnished rooms in a historical gem of a house. Jayde and mom, Chantal were extremely welcoming and helpful, utterly available but never intrusive. We loved the full breakfasts at their coffee and gift shop, Pronk, on the property. Generous portions, beautifully prepared and served with easy hospitality, always a kind and encouraging word and an extra cuppachino too, a perfect start to each day. Many thanks for being superb hosts in your beautiful university town!
It is a beautiful house with everything needed. The breakfast was delicious. We had a great time as friends around the living room table and were literally less than 10 minutes away from all the shows during Aardklop. I recommend it for sure!

The room was very neat and is good value for money. The bathroom needs a few little things like a place to hang towels, as well as a toilet paper holder. Overall a good and safe place though.
It would be safer to have a remote controlled gate especially if one comes back late at night. Ensure there is enough toilet paper in the bathroom. I had to use facial tissues found in one of the cupboards. Ensure the veranda floors are cleaned before serving breakfast from there.

The stay was very nice with a peaceful atmosphere. Very neat and clean and breakfast very tasty - good value for money. Security must definitely be stepped up - walls around the building too low - electric fence will help and entrance at gate should also be equipped with preferably an electric motor. We were unfortunate to experience a break-in during our stay, but if security is stepped up it will help a lot.
Lovely, peaceful atmosphere in exquisitely furnished rooms. The old Voortrekker House with its rich history has been beautifully restored. One can't help but feel nostalgic when listening to the cooing of the pigeons on the cool porch. The hostess and staff are professional yet extremely friendly and helpful - we immediately felt at home. Thank you for a lovely break. We will definitely go again.
