The owner made our stay really special. They upgraded us to a better room at no charge. Jonathan really goes out of his way to make everything as special as possible for you. Nothing too much trouble and he is always available. His food is top notch!

Such an interesting place and the owner very friendly when we got there. Small problems on the maintenance side, such as lights that don't work and a broken door knob. The lack of luggage space makes Benguela unsuitable for more than one night's stay. What was shocking is the owner's complete lack of sympathy or assistance. I fell on the entrance steps and broke my knee. It was a. g. f. three things: No lighting at the entrance, no handrail and an upper step with a "lip" where my foot got stuck. I came back from the hospital after 1 in the night. Was in so much pain that I woke up other guests, but there was no sign of the owner. We had to cancel the second day in Gansbaai (and the rest of our tour) to get to a Cape Town specialist. Not only did Benguela not offer to compensate us for the day's rates we did not use, but asked me R50 for a nougat from the fridge. Really? How petty and greedy one can be. It's now a week later and I still haven't heard a peep from Benguela. If someone was injured on my premises I would at least have picked up the phone to find out how they were doing. Not at this place. It's all about the money, honey.
We had a very relaxing time at Benguela and the most beautiful view from our room. Godwin who received us was very friendly.

Jonathan is a excellent host, he spoiled us from morning to evening, served fine breakfast and super dinner, in between he gave super recommendations what’s to do in between.

Our time at Benguela was a lovely treat. In addition to the beautiful accommodation and the very nice guesthouse, there are extraordinary little details that made our time at Benguela very special. The rooms are beautiful with exceptional decor and excellent quality, the view is very beautiful. Wherever you turn there is a special piece of decor that makes your stay at Benguela a very special experience. The breakfast in the bed was incredibly delicious and extravagantly served. What a beautiful place with a very warm welcome.
The breakfast was amazing, they went over and above to keep us happy. The room was very clean and provided everything we needed. The person we dealt with was also very friendly and always willing to help us with anything needed.
