The Bergsicht Country Farm Cottages are located on a working stone fruit farm just 7 km from Tulbagh and offer something for the whole family.

Guests can choose from 6 self-catering cottages with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and over the orchards. Ruby Star sleeps 4 guests and African Delight sleeps 3 guests. Lady Red, as well as Angelino, Southern Belle, and Laetitia each sleep 2 guests. These 4 units are suitable for adults only and are not child-friendly.

Each cottage is tastefully decorated and has a kitchen or kitchenette, as well as a cozy lounge area with a fireplace. Complimentary wood is provided for guests' first fire, after which wood can be purchased for an additional fee.

With their own built-in braai facilities and private wood-fired hot tubs, each cottage has a covered stoep.

The cottage was amazing and we really enjoyed sitting back and relaxing. The only disappointment was that the built-in hot tub wasn't working. There was a temporary hot tub provided, but it was a bit difficult to get in and out of it. Hopefully next time we will be able to use the built-in one.

What a gem of a place. The tranquility is so contagious and the scenery is picture perfect. The hot tub is a must to enjoy. Upon arrival our expectations were exceeded. The place is painfully neat and is exactly like the photos on the website.

The unit is very nice decor-wise and very clean but the pictures were a bit deceiving as the outside looks a bit run down in comparison to the pics. Also, this unit is advertised as a couple getaway so we expected a level of privacy but the front of the house faces the farm road leading to the houses closely around you as well. I would suggest putting up something that gives more privacy but still allows you to enjoy the beautiful view.

My best friend and I were looking for a "couzie" place to rest and relax. Letitia Cottage was exactly what we were looking for and everything was exactly as advertised. Our wood was also already packed, with lightning. We could only light the fire. Very neat, clean and furnished. Clear instructions via WhatsApp which made everything run smoothly. The cottages are very well equipped. It was a great break from the busy city life. It's quiet, clean and the views are picture-perfect. Mind you, on cold days you will burn about 6 bags or more of wood if, like us, you spend most of our time in the "hot tub". So the extra wood for sale came in very handy. We will definitely be back!

Southern Bell Cottage was very tidy, comfortable and had everything we needed. The farm has beautiful views of the mountains with the most beautiful sunsets, and many paths for jogging/walking. The management was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed every moment there and will definitely be back!

The only negative is that it is very dark inside even though the sun is shining. Maybe a little stronger lighting. Other than that, everything was 100%.

We had such a nice stay! The cottage is nicely furnished with everything you need for a few days. The braai facilities and the wood-fired hot tub on the large stoep were of course the highlight! And the wood one could buy there on an honest basis was very convenient. Thanks also to the man who came to clean the braai place every morning and packed the wood again for the next fire. I would stay at Bergsicht again anytime!

Neat and well-furnished cottage, lovely atmosphere, peace and quiet on the farm with a beautiful view of majestic mountains while you relax in the warm patio bath with barbecue facilities at hand. Wine glasses with very small goblets. Limited storage space in kitchenette for own shopping. Owners can create just a little more privacy by wooden fence in front of the cottage so that bored neighbors/other guests can keep their eyes to themselves when driving by. Know they warn it's a working farm, aware of that, but it will add extra value to accommodation.

Second time we come here for a short weekend holiday. The particular house is much bigger than previous residence Angelino, but I prefer Angelino for 2 people. The management is available via WhatsApp and before our holiday sent very helpful material about Tulbagh and what was happening in the town that weekend. The place is excellent, clean, tidy and comfortable. Definitely value for money.

Arriving at the farm was not the best view/first impression. Junk piles amidst live stock, when we got to the cottages it looked better aesthetically. The cottage itself was beautiful though!

We enjoyed our stay in the Angelino cottage so much. The house was spotlessly clean and well furnished. The plunge pool is great for cooling off in the afternoon and when it starts to get cooler in the evening the hot tub is a great treat. It's the perfect place for a romantic getaway.

We were very surprised upon our arrival. There is everything one needs. It's really only needed for swimming towels, food and your personal stuff. The 'small' pool was perfect for cooling off on the hot December summer days and the air conditioners a big treat! The incredible view and most beautiful sunsets were absolutely perfect. What a great treat!

My wife and I stayed in Angelino Cottage for the weekend. It was better than all expectations. The unit is extremely neat, spotless with beautiful finishes. Everything one needs and more. When we arrived, the braai and the "Donkey" in the pool were already packed with flash, could only be lit. Everything has been taken into account so that one can just turn up and relax. The view is indescribable. Will definitely go back.

Beautiful, neat cottage, but African Delight Cottage (number 3) has no privacy. It borders Number 2 next door and we could hear every word spoken by the family staying there. The parking for both units is in front of African Delight, with the implication that our neighbours passed by our house all the time, which violated our privacy on the patio, braai area and hot tub.

It's very private and safe and we sat outside in the "badcuzi", as we dubbed it, watching the stars until late at night. We had a great rest and Charl was very helpful and received us very kindly. We stayed in The Red Lady. The self-catering was well-equipped and we enjoyed the braai while we also relaxed in the water and heated Jacuzzi on the porch. Bergsicht Country Farm Cottages is truly a beautiful place. The peaceful atmosphere is wonderful. Lady Red Cottage is a dream. So much attention has been paid to detail with decor and everything is super functional. The fireplace inside was packed, the hot tub outside was packed and the outdoor grill was packed, ready to light. The friendly reception by Anaretha immediately made us feel at home. I really can't wait to go there again as we went to a wedding at Monte Rouge on Saturday and it feels like we missed an evening. Thank you guys, excellent idea and place!

Our stay here was amazing. Not as private as I would've like because it seems easily accessible to anybody not staying there and is situated directly on the road. However, the accommodation (Lady Red) itself was much better than we expected for the price, and the wood-fired hot tub was absolutely perfect (and easy to use). Perfect for those seeking a quiet, secluded getaway.

Description

The semi-detached farmhouse has self-catering accommodation for 3 guests. It is ideal for 2 adults and 1 child. This duplex cottage has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, and a lounge area. The first bedroom is on the first floor and has air conditioning, a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet. The third guest has a single bedroom on the ground floor and uses a bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet. The kitchenette is equipped with a fridge-freezer, gas stove, oven and microwave and meals can be enjoyed at the dining table. The lounge has comfortable seating, a Jetmaster fireplace and a TV with satellite dish. Guests must bring their own decoder, smart card and remote control. Day visitors are not permitted and the number of people per unit is limited to the number of guests on the confirmed booking. Management reserve the right to perform an inspection at any time if they suspect these rules are not being adhered to.

Please note that there is a gravel road leading to the establishment and it is not recommended for very low vehicles. Guests are required to enquire about the condition of the road, before arrival, as it could be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. Please drive slowly on the dirt road.

Because of the gravel terrain and the staircase, this accommodation may not be suitable for young children, the elderly, or guests with disabilities.

Enough firewood for the first fire is provided. Extra firewood is available at an additional fee. Guests may also pre-order.

Please smoke in designated smoking areas on the patio. Any form of smoking is prohibited inside cottages. Cigarette stubs should be discarded in the bin.

There is a strict noise policy in place and guests should please refrain from making loud noises or playing loud music during the day. A no-noise policy takes effect at 22:00.

This unit is not suitable for parties, events, or private functions of any kind.

The units are not suitable for pets.

There will be a breakage fee in case of any loss or damage.

The stove and chimney are extremely hot while in use and guests should please refrain from touching them.

Please ensure that the embers are properly extinguished. Do not leave fires unattended.
