We had an incredibly nice visit in Clarens. Bergvliet is a lovely cozy house and we immediately relaxed upon our arrival there. The nice porch and view of the mountains is lovely. Thank you very much!
We had a great stay, nice green grass and a beautiful garden. There is a canopy where we had a great time. The braai is just not the best for someone who loves to grill.
The cottage is beautiful and within walking distance to all the restaurants and shops. The cottage is beautifully (and comfortably) furnished. I'd book the cottage for another visit any day!
The 2 houses were clean and we as friends could comfortably walk over and have a barbecue together. The house is very neat and the fireplaces in the houses were winners.
Maybe put in something extra to welcome guests, e.g. 1st pack of wood free or extra emergency light.

First of all, the house smelled badly of smoke when we got there. The wall above the fireplace was burnt black from previous times people had made a fire in the fireplace. The house's floors were full of dust and there were cobwebs in the bathroom of the downstairs room. The WiFi signal is also very bad and slow.
From arrival (Fran met us there) to departure it was one big delight (except for loadshedding, but at least there were candles - we just couldn't find matches!).

Bergvliet's house offers comfortable sleeping and accommodation. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need and has a dishwasher which was an unexpected windfall. As a family we were able to relax wonderfully warm even though the maximum temperature was 11 degrees with a lot of rain. The fireplace laughs with smoke in the house. But there were enough blankets and heaters to keep you warm for the next few days.

Please fix the front door lock and entrance to the property, entrance is too low for standard vehicle.
Places are very neat and nicely furnished. Would only recommend fans or cooling being made available for warmer weather and a mirror at the hairdryer power point.

Bergvliet is a beautiful and modern unit. Ample provision is made for cold Free State evenings. It's well located, in a quiet area and close to the walking route. We had a great stay!
Maybe just invest in: frying pan to remove meat from coals, missing tongs, steak knives.

There was a total of 11 of us who stayed at Bergvliet House & Cottages and we all thoroughly loved it! The accommodation is a stone throw from the vibey little town which was an absolute pleasure. The house and cottages were just divine, clean, modern, and had everything we needed. We will definitely being using Bergvliet Houses & Cottages again when we go back. Thank you to Franlize who was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating.

Lovely cozy visit with our teenagers. Just comfortable for a short getaway with teenagers.
The location is well situated, just a pity you can't see the mountains. Picture on website was not very accurate. Place had also not been cleaned for a long time.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The upstairs loft makes it a but difficult for privacy but the downstairs areas are well equipped and comfortable for a group.
It was nice to go to a comfortable place to stay after a long walk through the square. It was quiet, safe and close to all attractions. Would love to refer someone.

Own amenities for your morning coffee while the sun rises over the mountain. Nice outside braai facilities if you want to have a quiet visit or a braai dinner. Very nice man.
The house is very neat and well equipped. The location is perfect with the restaurants and shops within walking distance. I would definitely recommend it to a large group of people! Unfortunately the house is a bit difficult to reach with a low car. The dirt road there is in bad condition and the driveway to the house slightly scratched the bottom of the car.
Had a great stay. Would just suggest a roof over the porch for when it rains like when we were there, would help a hell of a lot.
Bergvliet has everything you need. Take food and friends and you'll have a great vacation. Is a bit pricy though.
Perfect option for large groups. All the units are fully furnished and very nice and tidy.
It was very cold in Clarens, but the place has so many heaters, extra blankets and electric blankets that we were nice and cozy.
We were pleasantly surprised by the brand new cottage we stayed in. Lovely large bedroom/lounge (bigger than normal), good bathroom with a nice shower (also a hand piece that can be removed if you don't want water on your hair), lovely hot water, the kitchen has all the basics needed. The bed was firm and comfortable. Enough heat in the icy cold winter. The view of the mountain was beautiful. The only negative thing is the busy dirt road that runs past the place. If you don't like a dirt road, then don't stay here.
We stayed in one of the cottages which was very neat, clean and cosy. We enjoyed our stay very much. One recommendation would perhaps be a table inside to eat at, but this wasn't a big problem for us.
Close to the town square with a small piece of dirt road that you have to drive. Definitely good value for money. You will see us again soon.
