Each bedroom has an extra-length queen bed, and each suite has a kitchenette with a bar fridge, a microwave, toaster and tea- and coffee- making facilities, its own safe, an en-suite bathroom, free Wi-Fi, a TV with DStv, and a private outside space. Notably, the unique family suite offers a separate lounge/dining room/kitchenette as well as 2 bedrooms, one for adults with a lovely queen bed, and the other with 2 bunk beds suitable for children under the age of 12.
Guests have access to a communal lounge with a fireplace and a library, a champagne pool, a covered braai area with a boma and a garden.
Boord Guesthouse has a full liquor license and can offer some of the regions world famous wines and other drinks. A continental breakfast is included in the price, and luxurious in-room spa services are available. At turndown, guests are offered a complimentary glass of sherry and a chocolate. During winter, a hot water bottle is included.

The guest house is neat and well located. However, I would strongly recommend that provision be made for a decent coffee station for guests in the rooms. There was only filter coffee provided, no milk and no sugar - so very inconvenient early in the morning and late at night if you want to make coffee in the room.
They helped us at very short notice after another establishment let us down, will now become a regular guest with them.

James who received us was very friendly and helpful. Our room was large and spacious with everything we needed. Ideal for a stopover if you have commitments in Stellenbosch. My little girl and I did. lived there because we had to attend a gymnastics competition nearby. James's breakfast was delicious and he constantly made sure we were happy with our food! He is very cute and friendly!
Had an awesome weekend with wife and son. Spacious room, so he could play around, close to the centre and amazing breakfast.

We checked into three rooms. Everything was spacious and had everything that was needed.
Staff go the extra mile and see to your needs. Made a special effort for my child who had to stay overnight after surgery. They are great!

Personally, I think the guest house needs some upgrading. The stairs were very small and difficult to go up and down with luggage. Breakfast, 3 days in a row, the same every time.

The beds sleep wonderfully and the pure white bedding is a bonus. The staff is friendly, the breakfast is nice and I can imagine that the pool is lovely in the summer.
The guesthouse is conveniently located, it offers a beautiful view of the mountains, the service is top class and the breakfast is delicious. The abovementioned and the fact that they are pet friendly makes it our favourite place to stay in Stellenbosch!
We will definitely see them again. The unit was 5 star and the log fire was a huge bonus. From the owner to the staff, we were immediately made to feel at home. One of the few places whose photos are a true representation of what you get. A wonderful experience.

The Boord guest house is friendly and tidy. All the Covid protocols are followed very well. The hot water bag in our bed was a very pleasant surprise when we got into bed on the cold night! The staff are friendly and helpful.
The hot water bag was a pleasant surprise and came in handy. Breakfast was also good. A common annoyance with guesthouses and hotels is the TV and DStv remote controls being 'slow'. Probably the batteries that are on the paper side. Management should test and replace it as soon as it shows sluggishness. The first two towels I picked up had black marks on them.
Good location and very close to the center of Stellenbosch. Received very good service during our stay with a tasty breakfast daily. Room was spacious, clean and good bed. Very good accommodation and can recommend it.

Room a bit cramped if 5 people have to sleep there. Relaxation area also a bit small. Parking place for vehicles is not so safe. There is a pedestrian walkway past the guest house's front door and parking space.

1st there is no wifi as advertised and no sherry and chocolate. Big disappointment. The room is extremely small for 4 adults and little space to move. Especially if there are 4 people in the room.

The place is very neglected, it is clear that management is not at all in charge! The pool area is neglected with spider webs, leaves a uncut lawn making it rather unpleasant, the built-in braai is in disrepair. The two guys that work there clearly either have very little inclination to keep the place tidy or are just lazy!

We enjoyed the stay. The room was spacious and well equipped. I especially enjoyed the little book next to my bed with descriptions of birds. The staff were all nimble and friendly. One problem is the spiral staircase which is not good for older people. This can't change the management, but maybe they should try to accommodate older guests on the ground floor. They do help to get the luggage upstairs. The breakfast was decent, but even though there are sliced tomatoes and leaves to create yourself, a bare egg on a plate (well cooked) looks somewhat unfinished.

I was on a business visit to Stellenbosch, so it was essential for me to be able to work after hours, and relax for an hour or so afterwards. Thorough planning must have gone into the room layout, because everything has been thought of. From enough wall plugs, to a comfortable chair to put your legs up and sip a glass of wine. A long enough bed - a luxury for me! In the evening I was offered tchoklits and a hot water bag, and that was the sum total of the disturbance I experienced. Breakfast is included in the booking, and is sufficient to get you through the morning. I can definitely recommend Boord Gastehuis!

My experience was really positive. The room was spacious, clean and beautiful, with a nice view on the meadow in front of the guesthouse (but that was my room, I don't know about the others). The staff was always helpful, as was the owner, whom I had the pleasure to talk to. The breakfast was excellent, both in quality and in quantity. Just one little flaw: the guesthouse lies in a neighbourhood in the Stellenbosch suburbs, therefore is not so close to the town centre. I had hoped I might reaching walking, but I wouldn't recommend it. However, a taxi or a Taxify would do. Apart from that, it offered great value for money. I definitely recommend it.
This guesthouse is located in a nice neighborhood not far from the R44. We had the spacious and clean Africa Suite on the ground floor, nicely decorated and with a private veranda. Small, but nice swimming pool next to the shared veranda. Friendly owners and staff. Very good breakfast cooked to order. Good value for money, ticks all the boxes for a Stellenbosch visit. Highly recommended!

Die Boord's facility is neat and comfortable, although my husband had to climb the very steep and uncomfortable stairs with his sore leg, but otherwise our stay was good.

Room was big and very nice. Floors were not clean. When we walked on it, our feet were dirty. Towels that we threw on the floor that were dirty were just hung up again for use. Kitchen was self-help, but no cloths to dry off. Breakfast was nothing to write home about, every morning egg and bread. Expected more value for our money.

The Boord guest house has a very nice breakfast and the staff is nice. The guest house faces the very busy street, the noise of cars is disturbing. There was a problem with the electricity and the air conditioning could not be used to heat the rooms. The power also went out, so the TV could not be used either. Nice hot water bottles in the beds were welcome. Family room is advertised as two bedrooms but you walk through the room with two single beds to get to the main room. There is no door between the two rooms. There was also no door for the bathroom in our room. Guesthouse was clean and tidy. Cars are parked in the street.
We arrived after 10 pm and were warmly welcomed by Rashid. We were on a course at Stellenbosch Uni and had to have breakfast at 7.15. Rashied and his assistant were great and had everything available for us. Thank you both.

Reception spoke very indistinctly and struggled to understand English or Afrikaans properly. Although our account was settled on arrival, it was not so on Guesthouse's system and reception asked me to pay.

The group of people included one baby, one 4-year-old and three 12-year-olds, the rest adults. Not one did not receive attention or help where needed - the staff were always available, always friendly and always helpful. What a great staff, so I want to highlight them first and say thank you again! The rooms are beautiful and stylish and completely comfortable even though the staff had to work out a lot of extra sleeping space for all of us! The dining room and reception area with the swimming pool and braai area was ideal for entertaining all the guests with a braai! The guest house provided all the dishes and washed them afterwards! It was truly a great treat! Every morning they spoiled us with delicious breakfast - price included in accommodation! I would recommend Boord Guesthouse without hesitation!

Great atmosphere. Good breakfast. Staff are very competent and do extra little things that make the experience pleasant. Very clean. The one thing that stood out to me in particular is that one night we came back after dark, and it was lovely to come in and the lights were already on and a complete "turn down" had been done.

Die Boord's location is conveniently central. Car parking in front of main building safe, but possible risk in today's crime industry. Room was nice and big, nicely furnished and the veranda with a view was a bonus. Early morning shower had no hot water for some reason? Service was excellent, especially with the quick rectification of my bill which was indeed prepaid. Very helpful workers at all levels of service delivery! A great experience, which I would recommend to everyone!
I just think that the rooms should all be equipped with air conditioning, during the tremendous wind last week the door in our room shook and picked terribly and it's quite a nuisance.

We were very happy with our room in the guest house, everything was neat and clean. Breakfast was delicious and the service very good and people very helpful after we forgot a computer in the room.
The guest house is well located and the interior decoration is interesting. We stayed in the family room which is nice and spacious. However, the children's beds are very short and my eldest daughter struggled to sleep comfortably. The utensils in the room and at the breakfast table were not clean. The breakfast itself was also a disappointment as some of the food looked "old", and the staff could not understand basic English (or Afrikaans). We had a barbecue the first night - after having to clean the dirty Weber and grill. This braai was also never cleaned by the staff in the three days we stayed there. The guest house really has potential, but as it is currently being run we would not be able to recommend it.
Garden is very neat, but there was no air conditioning in the room. Stellenbosch in December is bloody hot.

The Boord Guest House is cutely designed which gives each room a sense of privacy. The staff are very helpful and helped us until late at night with arrangements for the wedding the next day. Breakfast is top notch and more than enough, even for teenage boys. Sherry, the owner is just around the corner and went out of her way to assist us during this stressful time.
