"Green, peaceful and blissful."

It is a beautiful place with comfortable camping accommodation. Green, peaceful and surrounded by the beautiful mountains of the area. It would be nice if someone could just receive us on arrival and introduce us to the farm and surroundings.

Very relaxing few days. Each site with its own bathroom and kitchen area was an absolute treat.

It was wonderful. The location was lovely. There was no signal, which allowed everyone to be off their devices. There was a lovely little stream. We had the campsite to ourselves, which made it even better.

A litte input as to what was available to do in the district would have been helpful, but as we didn't specifically ask, we can't complain. They had had a flood shortly before our arrival and were busy repairing the damage, but did not allow the work to affect the quality of our stay.

Forest River is the best campsite we have ever been to! The location is amazing, the river, the silence! We will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone.

Only 5 pitches and we had the whole place to ourselves. The large lawn served as a cricket field, a volleyball field and a rugby field, while the small mountain stream offered a pleasant run. Jogging, mountain biking and bird watching were also the order of the day. It was nice that each family had their own bathroom and the large awnings were used thoroughly in the sun and the rain.

It was really nice to have our own ablution, electric plugs, shelves and storage space. The gas shower was a bit temperamental, either really hot or cold. The one basin didn't have a plug, which is not a problem, I could have brought one with. It's just surprising with all the details they do list in their notes, that it's not mentioned.

We were a group of friends who had a wonderful weekend. The place was spotless, quiet and peaceful. The perfect getaway for a group of friends.

The resort is lovely and clean. It is well located next to a river. On the other side of the river, out of sight of the resort, live the people of the neighboring farm, who played music until late on Saturday night and started playing again early on Sunday morning. It certainly kept us awake. Because of the fact that there had already been incidents of theft reported at night, even though the resort has a security guard on duty at night, we were frightened by every sound we heard. It is certainly not the resort's fault that there are criminals, and at least they are doing something about it, but it is a shame that you cannot be at ease when you are camping in such a peaceful atmosphere. The only reason why I would not recommend my family or friends to go to Forest River is because the possibility that someone will try to get into your tent while you are sleeping and the neighboring farm's workers making so much noise.

What a nice place. Small, only 5 places, each with its own toilet, shower and sink. It is nice and clean and the campsite is beautifully green. Plenty of room for the children to play, walk and cycle. Nice pond and river to swim in. Will visit Forest River again.

We recently went camping at Forest River, and I really had an unforgettable time. Extremely friendly people and their helpfulness was absolutely fantastic. However, we were only able to get a place for two nights, but will book in advance in future to avoid disappointment. The site was extremely neat and other campers were also very friendly and nice. I am incredibly looking forward to going again. Thank you very much.

We were alone there which made everything so much better. The whole place was open to us. Buildings are very well looked after. Green grass etc etc. The owner and the rest of the staff were always friendly and helpful if we were looking for something. My husband is already planning our next camping weekend with them.

The place is peaceful and silent. You can make nice hikes in this area. The campsites are equipped with everything you need and more. Although there is no reception, everyday they check if you are still OK and if you need something.

Very tidy camping site, very clean, and comfortable ablution facilities. Camping sites are spaced out nicely. Very friendly, helpful service. We really appreciate the special care! The wood we ordered was delivered within minutes. And the night watch made us feel safe. Was so nice to chill on the rocks in the stream. The only negative thing: we were unable to take an afternoon nap on Sunday becuase of a day function and tractor that made noise on the terrain. The wind was also very strong (I suppose it was that time of year). If we didn't have such a strong tent the wind would probably have blown us back to Cape Town. The advertisement says something about a dam for fishing, but the location isn't mentioned, no dam close to the terrain. Will definitely book again,
