The working citrus farm has been in the same family for more than a century and also hosts a very interesting restored water mill that dates back to 1850.

We stayed at the farm whilst visiting the area for the flowers. Lovely, comfortable, and clean venue. Gorgeous views of the surrounding Cedarberg.
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Bovlei Guest Farm is a great place to do it.
The house is wonderfully large, with plenty of play space for the children. Sheep and donkeys are a bonus. Thank you!
Warm welcome with farm atmosphere. House is beautiful with everything you need.
Ideal for 2 families or groups as there is a separate attached section to the main house with its own bedrooms and bathroom.
The donkeys were our favorite animals there and the leopard tracks nearby a bonus!
We were kindly received by the caretaker and immediately made to feel at home. Everything was neat, clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the silence and the farm animals. We will definitely stay there again if the opportunity arises. Also recommend it to other visitors.
We will definitely stay here again. The location is great, farm very tidy and the farmhouse nostalgic. The hostess was friendly and the people on the farm carried us on their hands. Our whole group, which includes my 80-year-old in-laws and 20-year-old student boy (and girl), really enjoyed it. The ideal place to break away from the hustle and bustle and relax completely.
House is on a farm outside town. We could not watch TV because you need your own decoder, we were not informed. Farm was nice very peaceful, very friendly donkeys and sheep.

A lovely old farmhouse in a beautiful location. Lots for kids to do and easy to explore the Cederberg.
The farmhouse is well equipment with everything needed. Do remember to bring carrots and apples for the friendly donkeys! Enjoy the tranquil setting and history of this farmhouse surrounded by nature and the farm animals lounging on the massive front lawn. Definitively worth a visit or a few return visits.

It was our second visit to Bovlei and no one will ever understand if you haven't been there. So take your bag, get in your car or on your bike, but just go there and walk and see for yourself what you're missing!
We found rest in a beautiful old farmhouse with detail and taste in every corner. The house looked out over the most beautiful sunsets and one could live back in the past. The few sheep and donkeys and open yard with no one bothering was special. Best value for money and we toured for 4 weeks. 5 star for an old farmhouse.
The smell of orange blossoms and the farm wakes you up in the morning. The old farm house is well-equipped, comfortable and neat. The area is exceptional!
Absolutely amazing, if you are looking for tranquility, peace and quiet you will find it here. The environment is, as always, breathtaking and the people in a class of their own. Bovlei was worth the visit and we will definitely see you again!
We enjoyed Bovlei Guest Farm with a bunch of friends, it was very peaceful and because there was no signal, we could rest wonderfully, without interruption. The house is a typical farmhouse, and had everything we needed. The donkeys, sheep and fire were our entertainment for the weekend. Because of the drought unfortunately meant there was no place to swim, but there was a nice stream of water behind the house where we could cool off a bit. Will definitely go back to the peace and quiet that Bovlei offers.
A wonderful stay in a beautiful environment with its century-old farmhouse and beautiful scenery and the most delicious water we have ever drunk in the Cape. I drank liters of water, no bottled water tastes so good. Hope to stay there again one day.
It's beautiful and beautiful, just won't come in winter next time. The house is clearly a summer house. The kitchen and fireplace made things more bearable during three days of cold front. The staff on the farm are very helpful and courteous. As someone who is very difficult to walk, I would perhaps like to be able to see more of this farm with my bakkie. But 10/10 for silence and scenery. Hope next year has flowers.
House is wonderfully equipped, especially kitchen with enough cutlery/breakware and also a dishwasher and washing machine. Indoor and outdoor barbecue. We had a nice walk in the mountain and garden also big with some sheep and 2 donkeys that share the yard! The town is conveniently close if you have forgotten anything and well worth a walk or tea.
Our family had a great time among the orange trees in the mountains and we braaid under the stars. The farm house made us nostalgic about the days when we were young. The house is very well appointed and equipped with everything you need for a nice long weekend or a long holiday. We braved the mountains and filled our water bottles with pure water from the river. We slept with open doors and windows, that's something we can't do in Gauteng. We really enjoyed our time on the farm and had quality family time around the fire and the kitchen table where we played bord games. Thank you.

I highly recommend Bovlei for couples, families and a small group of friends if you wish to totally relax, laze around, enjoy a countryside experience, thousands of stars at night and see the rock and cave formations as well as rock art.
This is not a place to go if you want commercial activities etc. If you are looking for tranquility and peace, a place to recharge the soul - then you have found the right place!
Deep in the valley, surrounded by mountains, fresh air, smell of orange blossoms. A very cozy old farmhouse that is perfect for a nice visit, everything you need and much more is there.

The accommodation / reception and effort made was appreciated. Lovely tranquil area where you feel safe and enjoy the warm hospitality of the Namaqualand and just relax. The house is well equipped for your needs and we felt at home. I can recommend them. It was a lovely holiday!

The holiday home near Clanwilliam was a wonderful surprise at a reasonable price. Unbelievably beautiful views over the mountains and along the river. Large lawns all around the house, which are great for kids to run around! The donkeys, sheep and chickens give a real farm feel. The house's decor is wonderful and is equipped in such a way that it feels like you are at your own home. The indoor braai and boma are fantastic for every braai event. The area offers plenty of things to do and explore. Overall it was one of the best self catering holidays we have experienced out of more than 25 over the past 7 years!
