"Unhospitable."

Very unhospitable, we felt like we were a pain for the owner to deal with. There was a spider web in the bathroom and shower. No tea or coffee, nor sugar or milk. Very little effort was made to ensure the customer felt welcome. Will not be back. Will not recommend.

"Beautiful location and room had everything needed."

It was conveniently close to the wedding venue where we needed to be and was a pleasant experience. Unfortunately we did not have the opportunity to meet the owner.

The accommodation was close to the wedding venue, but the access road is very bad and not recommended for small (low) vehicles.

Protea 1 - bed/mattresses can be replaced. Protea 1 - no bathroom door, if you sit on the toilet anyone can see you from outside. Protea 2 - bed/mattress can be replaced. Bed creaks with every movement. Although we were only there 1 night I at least expected that one might see the owner - how do they know that we were really only 4 adults there? Owner should tell people that the roads to the guest house are very bad.

Nice and quiet place. But road to place is really bad, my car got hurt on the way there.

On arrival we had 20 minutes to get ready for the wedding held nearby. Other guests, also a party of 3, were put into the wrong room, our room! Then were told we can have the 2 separate rooms. I said it seems like someone else is there, told no it's fine. Thinking all fine, took a few things, and it wasn't fine. One of the guests from the group of 3 was in there as well. As they had our room and another room! The 3 of us, adults, had to squeeze into the one small, hot room, get ready, no door, but men had to shower. I could not do my hair properly because of the time spent discussing where we should move into to get ready. The difficulty of sharing the tiny space. They should have made sure the surname matched with the room number! We had to move our things after the wedding, out of that small room to the correct room which was at 1 am in the morning. Not impressed!

We only slept there one night and looked for other accommodation for the rest of our visit in Harties.

WiFi reception is a bit bad in the unit.

We waited an hour and a half to receive any feedback as we sat and waited in front of the place. We messaged and called a few times. Just no answer. When we finally received a message we waited about another 35 minutes before someone arrived. Place is unlocked and is dirty and dusty. We are told, sorry we completely forgot about you. Bathroom is dirty, toothpaste marks on sink shelf, dirty toilet and shower. Bedding not clean, washed and dirty. Seems almost too small for the beds. Towel that stinks like smoke is hastily put on the bed. I'm sure it came from the woman who came to unlock the house because they forgot. Towels don't even look the same. Walls are dirty and full of marks. Outdoor patio set is so dirty, it can't be used. Crumbs on benches. We had a wedding to prepare for. The woman tells us 14:15. She's just going to turn on the geyser. We had to drive to the venue again at 15:00 and we can't take a shower because the geyser wasn't on. Bunch of builders on the site alone where we now had to leave all our things and drive, and we were informed of loadshedding that would happen in the evening if we were to return alone to the abandoned house on the mountain. It would be pitch black with no other people on the premises. We got one lamp for it. We called the website right there and informed them that we would not be staying here in these circumstances. It's unacceptable sleeping place. Clean and tidy I would say are the most basic rules if you want to open overnight facilities. And of course good management. We read the negative reviews but decided to give them a chance. We were deeply disappointed and then had to make other arrangements in a hurry which left us in a huge rush to be on time for the wedding.

"Unfortunately, the experience was not as desired. I think the description and features on their ad are very misleading and you are definitely not getting good value for money!"

Neither I nor the other guests who stayed with me would recommend Bronya's. The hostess was not available when I tried to call several times. There was no one to receive us. The cleaning staff said we wouldn't be able to check in until 2pm, but only until 3pm, even though our check in time was 2pm. We stayed in Protea 1 & 2 and therefore did not have access to some of the features on the ad (eg: braai area, swimming pool, WiFi etc). Protea 1 only has 2 single beds and it cannot be converted into a king size bed. There was no water there and when I asked about it the staff mentioned that the water was off and that I had to swim in the pool if I wanted to get clean. There were an awful lot of mosquitoes and spiders in Protea 1 when we arrived there that evening after our function.

The place is so full of dust and not clean. Protea 1 room was the worst. Very disappointing.

Room was pretty clean, headlights did not work and there was only one bag of coffee. Otherwise everything was exactly as advertised.

"The owners didn't remember who I was, when I was at the gate. Took a number of phone calls to get them to answer."

The bed was extremely hard and lumpy, it sank in the middle. I did not sleep well, actually had to sleep in the opposite position. The bottom sheet was not clean and the blanket was hard and had makeup on the edge. There was no milk or sugar for the coffee and the teaspoon was dirty. I was only there from 9 pm to 4 am the next day.

"Prefect place to stay if attending a wedding at the barn."

Great stay with a beautiful view of the dam.

The showers were not cleaned properly. The bed in No. 1 is an old spring bed which is very uncomfortable. Duvets very thin and flimsy. No heating in the rooms. Not very welcoming. For the price paid, disappointed.

We had a great time at Hartbeespoort. We, unfortunately, did not feel comfortable using the pool as some of the other occupants had left it in a state after a huge party. Was quite disappointed. We were also not advised that the gravel road was so bad.

We couldn't sleep that night, neighbors were partying until 2 in the morning with loud music and ignored our requests to be gentler.

The place was exceptionally amazing. Away from the face of earth. We had everything that we needed at our finger tips. And Nico was such a great help throughout the weekend. It's a home away from home.

I stayed over at the guesthouse for one night. I booked online and had no issues with the booking. I was pleasantly surprised at the security (access point at a boom gate, and then another security gate closer to the guesthouse). Rooms are cosy and well kept. Perfect for self-catering purposes. The outside braai and pool area is a winner! The view is absolutely amazing (as seen in the pictures). The only issue I had was that my Google Maps did not take me to the right place, but the contact person at the guesthouse was very friendly and helpful, and I was easily able to find the place after i had spoken to her. I will definitely go back.
