We booked 2 units, and both were beautiful, clean and tidy. The decor is so unique in each room. The beds and bedding are of excellent quality. The small details, such as towels, soap, cream, coffee, sugar etc. was a pleasant surprise as it is a self catering unit. Robin was very friendly. The area is closed, and feels safe, and is very quiet and peaceful. Our one night there was too short.

Everything exactly as advertised. Ideal for overnight stay for a golf tournament at Magaliespark - location could not be better! The host very professional and we appreciated the attention to smaller details and especially all the 2-point plugs in all the right places, as well as the little firewood for a cozy fire before we go to bed. And especially also the nice strong water pressure of the shower! Just very hot and with load shedding it doesn't help! Air conditioning/generator would have been fantastic. Very quiet and peaceful in a very beautiful environment.

Very pleasant stay, accommodated me coming back late as I had a wedding in the area, so I was able to come back anytime I wanted without having a time limit. Very clean and beautiful cabins. I was definitely surprised by the size of the cabin as well; way bigger than expected with our private braai and outdoor area.

It was a lovely spot. Quiet, clean and very pretty.
The stay was enjoyable. The area was quiet and safe. In terms of essentials, we had everything we needed, apart from Wi-Fi which was not easily accessible (we had to stand outside by another cabin to access it, and at times the network was not stable). One room lacked an HDMI port for the TV, but fortunately the other room we booked did have one, so we could connect our laptop to the TV and watch movies. Apart from that, I have nothing negative to say given the price of the stay, which was affordable. The only thing I would mention is that they should find a way to redo their kitchen sinks. Water tends to spill over onto the whole tabletop because it was poorly designed, and it becomes a hassle to always have to wipe down a wet countertop when doing the dishes.
We had a wonderful stay. The location is perfect and the nature is beautiful. Unfortunately there is no air conditioning and the temperature was 36 degrees. Better lighting in the master bedroom would also be an asset.
We celebrated my partner's birthday and did a few things in Harties. It was very peaceful, and we loved the hammock. Highly recommend staying here.
What a pleasant discovery! Tucked away among other peaceful guesthouses, at the end of a long cul-de-sac, beautiful gardens and unbeatable views of the Magaliesberge. Robin was a great hostess, and little details in the units really make this a five star experience at a very reasonable price.

Good value for money and very peaceful and safe. The outdoor shower is very "rustic", but not very practical, especially when it's cold. A cloth/sponge for dishes and a bread knife would be welcome.

At one point, a woman came and kicked us out and yelled at us. It was terribly unprofessional. We asked nicely that she would tell us when we were making noise, but no warnings were given. Early in the evening she came around the corner and kicked us out. She handled it absolutely badly and threatened us with the police and to drive us away. After my friend said very nicely and gently that we were sorry and that we would be quieter, then she continued to lash out at her. It was very disrespectful and unprofessional.
We had a quick one day stay. The unit was well equipped and neat with a friendly, helpful host.
We had a wonderful time at the Pecon cottage. The unit was a bit cold but cosy and warmed up quickly with the gas heater and winter linen. It's close to various destinations and well-equipped to make your own food. The view of the mountain is also fantastic! Would definitely recommend it.

This was just a wonderful experience for me from start to finish. Everything, but everything you need, was in the "cabin", even a big gas heater so that we didn't sleep cold. The kindness and the information in advance, even the load shedding times for our stay, was a belt under the heart. The scenery is just as breathtaking outside the city. I would recommend this place to anyone.
We were put in a different cottage than we booked, but regardless it was still nice to stay there that night. It is close to the wedding venue, very convenient.

The place was particularly beautiful and in a quiet and peaceful area. The environment is beautiful with many trees and beautiful nature.
It is wonderfully situated and has an excellent view. The bath right by the window overlooking the trees and mountain was spectacular. Local eateries were suggested and we were very impressed. Everything was great and wonderfully cared for. It was great there were cats around outside as we love cats.
We almost didn't want to leave our place! Had a wonderful walk among the beautiful pecan avenues, enjoyed a nice bottle of wine in front of the fireplace and was able to read a book in the hammock! Thanks for the extra effort with the chocolates for my birthday! It felt like a week's vacation! We will definitely come again!

We had such a wonderful stay in the Pecan Cottage. The room was perfect, we didn't want to leave, the farm environment was peaceful but it was in the perfect location close to many amenities and sights in the area. We will definitely recommend this gem and will hopefully visit soon again.

Wonderful stay that I will definitely use again if I'm in the area. The reception was very warm and friendly and the bottle of sherry and sweets made our reception extra special. The cottage is beautifully and tastefully furnished. Our braai place and small boma were the highlight of our first evening's visit. The stoepie is great to just sit and hang out from early to late. I'm so sorry I didn't pack my bird book, because we saw an awful lot of different species at the feeding place in the corner of the garden. For sure this is a little gem in the Skeerpoort area near Hartbeespoort.

It's the little extra things that make Brown's Cabin and Cottages so unique and special, from the Sherry as a welcome drink to the lights that are switched on for us in the cottages when they see us coming back after dark. We loved the place and location is near and 20 min drive to haarties dam, aerial cableway.
My husband and I had a lovely experience, the cottage is spacious, and we were surprised by the little details like extra wall plugs where you can charge your mobile phone and use a hair dryer. Usually we pack extra plugs and don't even use them.
It was very wonderful and the unit was breathtakingly beautiful. There was no inconvenience during our visit and we were always happy if there was a problem or something, the owner was very awake and alert and everything was sorted.

We stayed in Brown's Cottage, De Wets Cottage, and the Aloe Suite. Very clean and neat. Spacious, loved the decor. Good price. Friendly staff. Close to a great Spar and Mugg&Bean. I can recommend it and will return when I visit the area again.
Our long weekend was spent in the Brown's Cottage - overlooking the pecan nut trees. The cottage is spacious and offers everything you could need for an autumn getaway. The hosts Robin and Helen ensure that the cottage is neat and clean - they add little extras to welcome their guests such as: a wood packed fireplace and fire pit, sherry, marshmallows, tea/coffee and milk. We will definitely return in the future!

Just for me a lot of money for 1 night's overnight stay. We literally dressed up for a wedding, spent the night and drank 2 cups of coffee. But I know I could have checked in for 1 hour and only checked out for 10 hours, to spend more time.

For nature lovers a big yes for the time of year. Everything was pretty green. The garden was of course the best in the evening. Fairy lights that come on when the sun goes down were such a big treat. We had such a good time. Rooms were done in style and comfort. We just wanted to stay longer. Price very fair. Unfortunately didn't get a chance to use the pool but will definitely go back.

Beautiful, peaceful place. We saw beautiful things and went to do fun things in Harties and could rest peacefully at Browns in Skeerpoort - and we were still close to everything. Was really delicious.
The Aloe Suite is perfect for an overnight option. It is neat and clean and located in a secure estate near most of the wedding venues. The pecan orchards around the house and the view of the Magaliesberg cliffs are lovely.

The "rustic" farm feel made you feel relaxed right from the moment you entered. Definitely value for money. Robin made a lot of effort and made us feel very much at home. The view of the mountain in winter left us gasping for breath, but we would love to go back in the summer months to experience the pecan trees in their full glory as well.

Brown's Cabin provided what we as visual artists hoped to find in a space we could relate to. First of all, the drive up to the cabin onto the estate fills you with a vibe of established horse farm-like qualities. A narrow road meandering through sights and authentic farm smells and high trees that leaves a smile on your dial right up to the cottage. Walking through the cottage, one thing is quite obvious. Someone who has a sense of goodness of life has put this cottage together. The cottage design, size and interior is lovely and comfortable and is tasteful in a creative, artistic way. Great colour combos and interesting things on the walls. It did not have a cluttered feel, this added greatly to the pleasure of the space. The cottage is also free-standing and one is left totally at the luxury of your own privacy. Yes, we will be back,and enjoyed Robyn and her staff that was friendly and most helpful! Lovely place, good memory!

Got a very warm welcome, the place was so clean and bigger the we thought, they catered for everything you'd need. It's a home away from home, the TV had all channels which we'd liked to watch (which is really rare in most accommodations). The mountain views were breathtaking from the outside terrace. The place is safe and quiet. I would recommend it to anyone and am definitely coming back. All attractions are just minutes away so that was a bonus to us. My partner and I really enjoyed our stay.
A few maintenance issues, front door barely closes and floors are a bit squeaky, but otherwise was a quaint spot which my toddler loved running around in and enjoyed the walks past the farms.

This is the second time we have stayed at Brown's Cabin. Still a cute and tidy little house with fresh bedding, a lovely patio and the beautiful scenery. The pool is a great treat! The outdoor shower is private and unique. The owners are a great team! All communication is professional and friendly. Looking forward to the next visit.

Everything was beautiful, neat and cute! Incredibly romantic! They made us feel very much at home but unfortunately we couldn't sleep at all! The floor was softer than the bed and the lack of sleep did not make our experience pleasant. Will not go back again because of the bed.

The units are conveniently close to all the tourist attractions in Hartbeespoort, but far enough from the hustle and bustle close to the dam. Robin is an excellent hostess, she waited for us until we arrived (after the designated check-in time) and made us feel right at home.

You always find a mistake or two at every place, but not here! We stayed in De Wet's cottage. It is beautiful, modern, enough space, bed is big and comfortable, shower has no problems, kitchen fully equipped, even a small heater to help with the cold. You have a very nice view of the mountains, and it's very peaceful. Private veranda with table, chairs and braai. The owners are also very friendly, and they have 2 friendly four-legged assistants!

The room was beautiful but it was freezing. The owner came into our room when we were out to turn off the heater and electric blankets and she left a note asking us to turn off the heater and electric blankets when we went to sleep due to power cuts and I barely slept with the cold. We only spent one night there so i cant give a full review of the place. I just would not recommend anyone to stay in Aloe room in winter. Other than that there were no problems.
Brown's is close to Harties attractions, yet somewhat secluded for a quieter break if desired. The log cabin we stayed in needs some renovation and is not as modern as the other units on the site. The kitchen equipment is old and not everything works 100%. The fireplace advertised is not a wood burning fireplace and was a disappointment. It also only worked for 1 night. The log house is recommended for families, but is very nice and the beds also need attention. The linen is very clean and there are warm blankets, but the electric blankets only work sporadically. The hostess received us warmly. They are busy with the new units and one hopes they will soon look at the wooden house as well.
I would recommend this place to anyone. The service was top notch. Kindness is rare to find, but they made you feel like family. Best of all is the outdoor shower we had. The men enjoyed it very much that morning. Will book there again when we are there again.

Quiet place with a lot of potential, stay was nice in general. If the owner has the money to invest in additional amenities it will definitely be a hit. Overall we had a great stay, my teenage son couldn't stay out of the splash pool, but there wasn't much we could do at the resort except if we drove out somewhere.
