What a place. Clean. Tidy. Quickly. When Eskom went down, the big generator started immediately.
It was a very peaceful weekend with my husband and our children. The place has a beautiful view. The unit is very well equipped with everything needed and is serviced daily. The owners are very helpful and friendly. The hiking trails are also a nice activity for all the hikers among us and there was a climb to the top of Camelroc.
Wonderful place for peace and quiet. Stay was excellent, no complaints.

We felt welcomed by the hosts, great farm overlooking the mountain. Great hiking trails, easy to walk. The scenery is awesome from the top. The farm is close to one of the border posts with Lesotho. It got a bit noisy at times but nothing too serious. We will go back!

Beautiful, spotlessly clean cottage with everything you need for self-catering, the herd of Blesbok grazing in front of the cottages is a bonus! We did the 3 km and 9 km hikes and were blown away by the beauty and how well they were maintained. There are also lovely MTB trails. Highly recommended!
Whilst our stay was only overnight we will certainly be back for a longer period as the area has a lot to offer.

I would recommend Camelroc for families who wish to spend time in a beautiful area. The only drawback we found was the noise which carried over from the border post traffic and personnel until late at night.
It is truly a special place with wonderful hiking trails in the mountains and area. Our dog child also enjoyed it. Unit 4 with its built-in fireplace was very special for the two of us and the cold was nothing.
We were received very kindly. The charlet had everything you could ever need. Power all the time, nice and quiet, close to Clarens for the day and just relaxing.

The house is very neat and clean. The lawns are very well maintained and the blesboks come up to 20 m from you if you are quiet and come to eat on the green grass. The fireplace makes it very cozy and warm even if it is cold outside in the evening. Friendly staff and reception, will definitely go again.
Beautiful nature on the hiking trails in the mountain. The hiking trail up to Camelroc is not intended for the unfit, but the view is definitely worth the toil and sweat! From exotic mushrooms to goats, lizards, eagles and San petroglyphs were to be seen on our route. The ice cold swim after the walk gave our aching legs new life. We will definitely come here again to recharge our life batteries!

The mountain views are amazing and viewing Lesotho, which is a walking distance is a life time experience, the service is amazing and everything is perfect about the place.
If one is looking for somewhere to unwind this is it. The surrounds are wonderful, the accommodation is first class with the chalets being well kitted out. For those who are keen on biking, running or just walking with or without children this is the place.
Hiking trails were breathtaking. Chalet was very nice clean and well furnished. Owners were very friendly and also the dogs were friendly. Will visit Camelroc again it was very good for the soul.

Fantastic atmosphere! The accommodation is wonderfully appointed. Enough towels and how quality linen. We slept wonderfully warm. Incredible view of the Malutiberg range and plenty of hiking trails to explore the area.
Only place where we were a little dissatisfied was that the toilet leaked in our unit. But it was cleaned regularly and the cleaners were very helpful with the matter. The view is beautiful and the units are so nicely equipped with everything you need. There is a lovely outdoor barbecue area as well as a nice fireplace inside.
Well worth the money. Laundry was done and returned the same day for a tiny fee. Stunning scenery and Dermot was extremely accommodating.

We had a 3-bed chalet, which was very neat and clean. The kitchen is well equipped. The view of the mountains is breathtakingly beautiful. The hiking trails are well planned and very well maintained. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Their dogs enjoy venturing out on the hiking trails with the vacationers. The downside was the Calendonpoort border post is close to the resort and the noise (music) is sometimes disturbing.

Camelroc is located right on the Caledon River which gives you very easy access to Lesotho to visit any interesting places.
Loved the quiet, and the natural beauty of the sandstone cliffs, gorgeous yellow light and pristine surrounds. The cottage is spacious and private, with everything you need. Access to beautiful walks from your doorstep. A beautiful place. Don't drive there via the R26, terrible road (but it was definitely worth it!).

I will definitely go here again. The tranquility is just what we needed to recharge the batteries. And safe for our kids to walk around and play. The hiking trails are a must for those who have never gone hiking, the view is stunning.
Very nice and comfortable chalet in which we stayed and a wonderful view when you sit on the deck early in the morning and drink coffee. The location with the mountains is something to experience and the river that can be softly heard in the evenings. Bald goats grazing around the farm were also nice to see. The two friendly dogs who came to visit every day until late at night. Very nice stay and will definitely recommend to people.
The whole family was very active: Could do nice trail running and also explore the mountains. The owner (Dermot) helped us out of a predicament, where we got stuck on a mud road, on a visit to a local landmark. Thanks again, Dermot.

These are very well appointed chalets in the foothills of the mountains. We had blesbok feeding in front of us. They are very clean, well laid out, with everything you may need for a great stay. The views from the chalet are breathtaking. Unfortunately we were there as a stop over, but it looks like they have magic hikes from the chalets up the mountain.
Kitchen is fully equipped. Beds have electric blankets on them for the cold Free State winter. Living room has a fireplace. Our dogs were allowed which was a plus. Unit was clean and tidy upon arrival.

On the Lesotho border so you can cross into Lesotho for the day. Close enough to Fouriesburg town and Clarens where you can shop.

The service was very friendly and the location perfect. We have in no. 10 stayed. The pillows in the master bedroom were very hard and smelled of sweat. The bed also needs a new mattress because we kept rolling inwards on the mattress. What we would like to see is that there is at least tea and coffee available for the guests. We use different types of accommodation during the year and mostly there is coffee and tea available in the rooms, especially if it is self-catering. You just have to take everything with you, as well as extra toilet paper because you only get one thin roll per day. For us as a family of 4, it was definitely too little. Overall, Camelroc was a beautiful farm.
Baie dankie se regtig een van die lekkerste vakansies met soveel wandelpaadjies en staproetes om te kies dit het ons behoorlik vir 6 dae lekker besig gehou. Chalet 6 was omtrent perfek en baie lekker gebraai met pragtige uitsig. 10/10 en sal enige tyd weer in toekoms kom kuier. Chalets het ook alles wat mens nodig het, bring net kos en koeldrank. Alles anders is daar met komberse, handdoeke, stoof, yskas ens.
We were welcomed by our host and shown to very comfortable, cosy and well appointed accommodation. The view from our thatched cottage was outstanding. We were only there for an overnight stop so were unable to try the hikes which sounded so awesome or the pool area where one could enjoy a braai, swim and perhaps meet other people.
Such a beautiful, tranquil place to stay, with lovely scenery. The chalet was beautiful, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed the hiking trail. And close enough to Clarens and Golden Gate. I would definitely recommend Camelroc for a break away.
The ideal place to stay to experience nature. There are very clear hiking and mountain biking trails laid out over a large area. You can go up the mountain to appreciate the view over Lesotho, or go looking for petroglyphs on the river bank. The border post nearby is noisy until late in the evening. The last bit of the access road is bad. But otherwise we had a nice stay.
The place has a tranquillity with the most beautiful scenery. The owners Dermot and Yvette are very friendly and helpful. The Chalets are well equipped with everything needed and are very neat and clean, both inside and outside at the braai area. It is a beautiful place that I would boldly recommend to friends and family and will definitely go there again.

Incredible place. Really value for money and beautifully located. If Lesotho is your destination, there are no better places. The name board just before the Calendonspoort border post just needs to be made more clearly visible with maybe a small card on it like you receive by email ahead of time. Dermot they are great.
Our expectations were exceeded with the hospitality and good value for money. Chalet No 7 is well laid out and then we don't even talk about the wonderful view.
