We had a very nice stay. The beds are comfortable and the customer service is fantastic. I want to recommend for a streaming service in the lapa house on TV please. Otherwise, fantastic place to sleep over.
The owner was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are adequate and tidy, but there is no place to wash the dishes, so you have to do them either in your bathroom sink or in a dish provided. It was inconvenient. The grandeur and outdoor area of the accommodation reminded me of an apartment in someone's backyard. There was also a lot of rubbish spread over the yard such as a lawnmower, goat horns, plastic bathtubs etc. The gate does not work with a car, you have to physically open it and we felt uncomfortable coming home in the evening and having to get out of the car to open the gate. If it rains, there isn't a place to hang out outside to barbecue, but that's probably not the worst. I would rather say it can work for people who are not staying together in groups and only staying for 1 night.

We were a group of friends staying the night there. A lot of effort was made with milk, ice and clean drinking water that was already in the fridge. Everything was clean and tidy. Secure parking, WiFi and TV. Going to sleep with them again for sure.

The Lapa (Apartment) is a fine size for two, though I think it will be tight for more. We stayed in the middle of winter, so be warned, the Lapa is cold. Hot water bottles and many blankets were provided, but a heater would have been great. Otherwise, it was a lovely place to stay. It was clean, well-stocked for our self-catering needs, and easy to find. With a little maintenance, the Lapa can again look as good as the photos show.

We were quite late after being stopped at the Mozambican border. We were reassured not to rush and drive safely, they would be waiting for us. We did not get the room as per the updated booking. Room was neatly laid out, but desk/counter was not clean. Although room is neat, environment especially yard is not tidy and it makes you feel uncomfortable.
The room is a little cramped but had all the bells and whistles. Soaps etc. Plenty of towels. Parking is safe, right outside the rooms and behind a large sliding gate. A little more light over the parking area would be nice making the vehicles easier to see at night and it would also filter gently into the rooms as well making navigation in the room to the toilet during the night easier as the room is quite dark once the lights are switched off. The owner is friendly and very accommodating. We have stayed there twice now and will do so again.

We were there on Friday night. Got the apartment furnished for 4 people. We were 3 persons and paid R400 for the evening. On Monday, my husband and I were alone and we got a room also for R400. The air conditioner was dripping onto the bed and the pillows were soaking wet.

Since we came by car from Cape Town, the road directions through the web page are quite confusing as they explain the way from the airport. However, we found the place easily using Google road map navigation.

Additional work is required, such as sealing of dormer windows. Curtains/blinds to be installed on dormer windows. Bathroom ceiling and light required. Bedside lights to be plugged in and tested before guests arrive. Bathroom door not closing properly. Microwave too small for dinner plates. Space in lounge area does not warrant a fourth bed. Pictures were a correct depiction of the unit, but were not a true reflection.

Friendly hostess and nice extras: double point power plugs, hangers in cupboard, hand washing soap, towel roll, lovely clean and extra (winter) bedding, air conditioning, good water pressure, smart TV, good WiFi, coffee facilities. Parking is right in front of the room door. Forgot my laptop there and they made an extra effort to get it back.

Plaster is cracked, walls have black hand marks on them and now there are greasy spots on walls. Refrigerator was dirty and sticky, the freezer was very frozen and brown liquid leaked out and froze. The dishcloths are dirty and the sponge old and broken. Was out for the whole day. No one came to clean or sweep the leaves.

We were kindly received by the owner. The new king size bed provided a lovely and restful night's rest for weary travelers. Although the guest house still needs finishing work, it is recommended for a family of four.

We were received very hospitably and the unit was well furnished.
When you want to sleep in this price range, you are happy with what you get, but this was more than I expected. Place was really neat, easy to find, my car was safely parked behind the gate and everything worked, from the shower to the boiler. Kitchen was nice and clean, and the coffee and milk was a bonus. I would love to come and sleep here again and can confidently recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay overnight in this price range.

Charrie's Corner is tidy and offers the basic needs of a short stay. The bed, bedding and towels were of a very good standard. It was also a quiet room where one is not at all aware of the guests in the next room. Very secure parking and friendly hostess make it very good value for money.

It was very hot and there is only one fan in the rondavel. There are no burglar bars in front of the windows, which makes one feel unsafe to open the windows.
It is clear that there are still improvements to be made, so I would like to mention two things: a small cabinet or shelf in the bathroom would be very handy, and maybe an umbrella or canopy outside against the sun.
We had a wonderful sleep over. Rondawel is clean and tidy, and offers more than one would expect from an overnight guest house. It's also close to the N1 and was easy to get to and again easy to get on the N1 early the next morning.

Sleeping over for a night was quite sufficient. This room was very neat and clean. Despite the improvement works carried out on the plot, no problems were found.

It would have been a better experience if the following problems had not affected the stay: Geyser not getting hot; lights for bathroom illuminate the whole house; TV that also gives normal channels and not just Netflix and YouTube; the sofa's indentation needs to be repaired and we would suggest that together with coffee and tea, milk is also provided. The bed slept very well.

For a one night stay it is worth its money. It's very peaceful. It's relatively neat. Very friendly people.
The overnight accommodation was neat, well furnished and close to the motorway. We will definitely use your services again. Please note that there is no container for heating milk in the microwave, for example. Toilet lid keeps falling back, bathroom has no separate light to use in the evening. Sofa bed linens were definitely not clean.
Guests must remember to pre-book cleaning services as it is an extra charge. The house overall is nice and cosy. Bring your own condiments as well, since they never get re-filled during the stay.
This place is clean and tidy - for the price it's value for money - but don't expect more than the few rand will get you.

I gave my thanks to the owner. I just forgot to mention that the TV makes a lot of scratching sounds if it's switched on. I'd replace it with a flatscreen.

We stayed at Charrie's Corner on our way to the Cape. It was extremely hot and there was no air conditioning. It is a converted thatched lapa with a bathroom. Completely adequate for one night, but I would not recommend travellers to stay for longer than one night.
We requested a braai facility for our own private area, as the braai was in their garden and not private for us as a family. The owner runs a hair salon just a few metres from our front door. She disrupted our privacy to ask for the outstanding R200 which we were planning on paying the next morning when dropping the keys off. The floors and shower were not properly cleaned. Lots of ants in kitchen. Rooms not private from each other. Unprofessional.
We will definitely go back, it's a very nice and quiet place.
