Also, close by, are several well-known cliff paths, mountain trails and the Hermanus Golf Course is just around the corner.
Chesham House offers an inviting swimming pool, set in a spacious garden. Other facilities include coffee and tea in all the rooms and internet access. Most rooms have televisions, with SABC 1, 2, 3 and eTV.
We do not have braai facilities, and we do not host large groups (unless the purpose of the visit is clarified), or private parties.
It has 8 rooms to choose from and can accommodate up to 17 guests. We do not accept any large group bookings.

Fantastic, we arrived in Hermanus early and called our host to see if we could drop off our bags, and we were absolutely welcomed. The accommodation is fantastic and clean and situated in the best part of Hermanus.
Everything met and exceeded our expectations.
Despite the water shortage in Hermanus during the time we were there, Chesham House went out of their way to make it pleasant for us. It is nicely central and within walking distance to the sea, waterfront and beach.
It was a very nice and peaceful environment. We were received with kindness and seen off. Would recommend the place anytime.

Description could be clearer. It's a room in a house. Although everything was neat and clean, friendly I suspect that a visiting holidaymaker would frown. Not a place of its own. I may also be guilty of not reading the description thoroughly.

This is a home away from home! Hannelie is a great host and communication with this guesthouse is excellent! Breakfast was delicious and filling. The rooms are spacious and spotless. Chesham House was not suitable for a girly getaway. There was no barbecue or any meeting area if the weather outside in Hermanus did not cooperate to walk around. We were told not to make noise and the aunt was not too friendly and the kitchen was closed.

I haven't had such a nice stay at a guest house in a long time, Hannelie goes out of her way to make the stay as pleasant as possible for guests and her friendliness makes you feel at home from the first minute! The entrance is very accessible and a stone's throw from a very nice walking trail along the sea in the nature reserve. The WiFi speed is very fast and the breakfast offered in the morning is delicious and perfect to start the day with. No, I personally don't think you can go wrong booking at Chesham house!

Chesham House is conveniently placed between the Hermanus CBD and Voëlklip. The surrounding areas such as Onrus, Sandbaai and the Hemel-en-Arde-Vallei are easily accessible from here.

My parents complained about a drain board that the cars drive over in the main road. It makes a terrible noise and they could not sleep. It's especially disturbing now in season when the road is so busy. Manager/owner may ask municipality to do something about it. I slept at the back of guest house. It was quiet and lovely.
I was very kindly received from the start. The owner and staff went out of their way to be helpful and hospitable. Everything was safe, clean and tidy and the breakfast and coffee were delicious every morning. I would just like to see some DStv channels on the beautiful, big, expensive TV to justify that TV. I don't really go out at night and struggled to get through the evening. Furthermore, I really do not have a single complaint, and will definitely use Chesham House again and recommend it to anyone here in Napier who wants to go to Hermanus.
Ruime schone kamers waarvan het meubilair wel wat gedateerd is. Er is een gezamenlijke koelkast aanwezig. Ook is er goede WiFi in het appartement. Het ontbijt is goed en wordt verzorgd in het hoofdgebouw. Afgesloten parkeer plaats en op loopafstand van de zee.

A simple stay with spacious clean rooms, some of which have furniture that is dated. There is one shared fridge. There is also good WiFi in the apartment. The breakfast is good and is provided in the main building.
Onze kamer keek in de verte gelukkig uit op de oceaan, verder vrij donkere en kille kamer. Niet echt gezellig. Badkamer is erg sober en kil. Gastvrouw doet haar best en toont interesse. Ontbijt is ok. Je kan snel naar het wandelpad langs de kust, dat is fijn.

Chesam House is the perfect weekend getaway and I definitely stayed in their best suite as the others were one room only. I really enjoyed my time at Chesam House and their friendly service and clean rooms made the stay very pleasant. The business travelers could be catered for as there is no desk and the WiFi is considerably slow, but this is now for a business traveller, not necessarily a tourist, but otherwise very nice!
The men from our company were there for one night, they say it is very neat and peaceful and the breakfast was delicious. Also very peaceful, they had a nice stay.
It was good, no problems.
Room was spacious, however, the balcony with sea view did not have any chairs or table. Also, there was no fridge in the room but there was a shared one in the passage. Other than that the host was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was very nice.

We only stayed the night, it is a convenient overnight spot, but I won't necessarily recommend it for an entire weekend or holiday. The rooms were comfy and neat, delicious breakfast and the service was fantastic!
We were kindly received by the owner's daughter. Our room was spacious, clean and tidy. The guest house is about 3 km from the business center where all the places to eat are. Parking is safe behind locked security gate. The Fernkloof nature reserve is located opposite the house and we saw two pairs of whales and after a delicious breakfast went for a nice walk in the reserve.

The guest house is in the process of making improvements. Rooms are very clean and tidy with pure white linen and old world charm. Breakfast was delicious! The garden still needs attention but this does not make the stay any less wonderful. The small bay about 200 meters from the house produced a whale show like few.

I'm not sure if they actually have a 4-star rating, but if they do, I'd say factors like the following could detract from such a rating: single ply toilet paper, no shampoo or conditioner or toiletries in the bathroom, no fresh milk or cartons of milk, very average interior decoration. On the positive side, warm friendliness and a lot of cleanliness and delicious breakfast.

It was a peaceful, comfortable getaway. Friendly reception and delicious breakfast. The room was neat and the bed slept great. Not too far from the town center and sea. Just a pity I had to share the balcony with the room next door.
I toured the Garden Route on my own, Chesham House was my third stop. Chesham House is a private residence converted, it is filled with old world charm. Everything is neat and clean, but I had to share a bathroom, which can be inappropriate for extremely private travelers. Luckily I was the only booking so didn't experience any discomfort. The location is excellent as it is a few hundred meters from the beach for whale watching and only about 1 km from the town itself. The people are very friendly and welcoming. I felt completely safe and in no way threatened. Will definitely consider them again for my next visits.
