I stayed in the Loft. It's a wonderful leafy refuge from the bustle of Johannesburg. The hosts are great, helpful but not intrusive. I'm just sorry I didn't have time to sit out on the deck and enjoy the birds.

Between the beautiful garden with birds that start singing early in the morning and super comfortable mattress, I woke up so peacefully that I was only ready to leave hours later than planned. The room is very well furnished, neat and clean. Will book here again.
It's tidy and neat. The service is excellent. They explain everything to you about the area, which side is safe and which one is not. The check-out was 10, but they told us not to rush, we can leave at 11 because their next guests will check in at 1. They call the day before you arrive to confirm what time you are coming. They were so nice to us.

I stayed in Olivewood for three weeks during a working visit to Wits. The room was very comfortable with a beautiful garden view and a small table to enjoy the winter sun with a cup of coffee. Wirie and her daughter Andanté offer delicious dinners that are very good value for money, so I really enjoyed their meals. This was especially helpful when I got Covid the second week and had to isolate. Wirie looked after me like I was family, and always made sure I had everything I needed. She even came to drop me medicine. The location was perfect for me; close to Wits and walking distance to Zoo Lake and Parkview's Tyrone Avenue. The area is cheerful and safe, and wonderfully quiet at night. The internet sometimes gave problems, but they went out of their way to fix it for me. Sometimes people would come into my room when I was there, to check the router or collect dishes, which was sometimes a bit of a surprise. It didn't bother me that much but might bother a different type of guest. The dogs are also in and out of the room so beware if you don't like dogs. It was a lovely visit and I will definitely stop by again! Thank you very much Wirie, André, Andanté and Annemarie!
My husband was in Jhb for medical treatment. He was welcomed with open arms and Wirie and husband made sure his car was parked safely. A delicious meal was prepared for him after his appointment. A thousand thanks for the hospitality and care.
