Cottage had a bad smell due to water pipe that burst, which could happen anywhere, but was not pleasant. For the amount you pay, you would have expected to get at least a hotel bar of soap or two and dish soap like at all the other places. Place was nice and clean. Sleep on the top floor with wooden floors that creak a lot and wake up the family when someone gets up during the night to go to the toilet or kitchen. With loadshedding, there is no generator.
The place was extremely clean and well equipped. We slept in the family room and could not find anything amiss.
It was a great room for our stop-over having a baby and a toddler.

Only stayed one night.
Reception was so-so. I had to call for someone to come and unlock it. Room I booked was not ready and then had to be moved to another room. The room I finally got was comfortable and clean but did not have any notable amenities. For example, there was only one coffee cup, two spoons and nothing else. Crane Cottage will need to step up their services.
We were received very kindly and the room was very neat and clean. We could have had a nice rest because there is no disturbing noise. The room and vehicle had been very secure and could rest assured about everyone's safety.

I would expect that, like the other places on the site we've stayed, we'd get fresh milk in the room and at least ice trays with frozen ice when you get there if it's so hot. The beds rattle - not the best quality. For the rest, we are grateful that we had a roof over our heads.
The beds are wooden beds and make a horrible noise when someone turns over. It would have been nice to arrive with ice trays in the freezer as it was very hot. The fridge was of no use to us because it makes so much noise when it turns on that we turned it off the second night from the start.

I have been staying at Crane Cottage for several years when I go to Paris. It is centrally located for me, and as a single woman I feel very safe when I spend the night there. The new host, Arrie, is just as nice and helpful as Arista before. I noticed that some improvements have been made to the room and the house which look good. I would definitely recommend the guest house.

It's a fair distance to drive from North West to Colesberg. What a welcome sight it is to find a safe, clean and peaceful place to sleep. Our hostess, Arista, was really nice and made us feel right at home. The fact that Crane Cottage is in a quiet, yet bustling area of Colesberg suited us like a glove.
After a long day on the road, my wife and I only arrived in Colesberg after 22:00 that evening. Even though we were late, we were kindly received and accommodated! The stay was perfect, and we could rest well!

The guesthouse's units are very comfortable. We stayed overnight in the older and in one of the new units and both were comfortable, clean and tidy. There is secure parking close to the units. The room was very comfortable. The air conditioning was a relief after a long day of driving. We had everything we would need. Can I just suggest that 2 rolls of toilet paper be made available instead of one? After a long drive it is usually necessary.
Good location and close to good restaurants, nice outdoor play area for children. I really have no negative comment about Crane Cottage. It's a beautiful, old restored house with wooden floors. My only recommendation: maybe you could just put a fridge in the unit, you always have something you want to keep cold overnight for the long road ahead the next day.

The only problem we had was the parking which is a bit difficult if you are traveling with a trailer. Furthermore, we had a very nice stay, and the guest house is very conveniently located, within walking distance of the restaurants!
After a hot day in the car, Crane Cottage was cool thanks to the air conditioning, tidy and very well furnished - we slept great and would recommend it. Arista from Crane Cottage patiently waited for us until 9:00 pm and received us warmly. The accommodation is well located and just what one needs after a long day in the car. There is air conditioning and a roof fan which helped a lot in the severe heat. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms spotless and we slept soundly with our car safely locked in the courtyard.

The personal and friendly attention of Arista de Waal is very welcome. The unit number 10 was suitable for our large family of 6. Extremely clean and tidy. The breakfast is made to your taste. It might just be mentioned in the sequel that it is 2 stories. Stairs are not at all safe for small children. We figured from internet inquiry we would enjoy it - and we did. However, the rates may be negotiable, especially in the off-season or between weekends. We keep an eye on the internet for special offers from time to time - this applies to all guesthouses connected to LekkeSlaap.
The reception and stay was very pleasant. It's wonderful to be received by people and made to feel at home in a strange place. I would definitely recommend it as an overnight stop to family and friends.
As students travelling back to Rhodes, we were very happy here.
Upon our arrival, we were warmly received by Arista. The room was spacious, tidy and comfortable. There was enough hot water to wash off the day's tiredness and the beds were very comfortable. Crane Cottage is well located with a restaurant and supermarket only a block's walk away.

Very warmly received, only complaint is that the cremora for the coffee was so old, it made the coffee undrinkable. No dish towel in the kitchen. Everything was so good except the coffee facilities.Also only two bath towels supplied for 3 people.
Crane Cottage is a nice and small B&B giving travelers a nice night rest. The room was modern with a comfortable bed, just right after a long day on the road. There is safe parking behind a locked gate. The staff was very friendly as well! Thumbs up!
