15 guests' feedbackCrocriver Chalet, scenery, heart people, comfort. What more can one ask for. Teenagers swimming in the river. 85-year-old grandfather walking through the forest together on an expedition. We will definitely visit again.
Very nice place, very quiet, the correct place if you just want to relax and basically do nothing. The gravel road into the place is a bit challenging, and as they state, an SUV or 4x4 is needed. The river flowing just outside the stoep is very nice. Even the dog "Toffee" is very friendly and well-mannered.
We were at Crocriver the weekend of November 17th and how amazed we were! The chalet is beautiful, neat and fully equipped. We had a great time on the large deck with the river flowing by. There we chatted, barbecued and sat quietly reading books. The bird life is amazing! We will definitely visit again next year. I definitely recommend Crocriver for a getaway to Schoemanskloof!
We really enjoyed the chalet, but we ended up having to drive in and out a few times, which was a pain on the rough road, but not the end of the world.
In all our travels we have not had such a peaceful and pleasant rest in a little paradise called Crocriver Chalet, and to be blessed with such warm and loving hospitality from our awesome hosts Johan and Bets. A definite must on places to stay!
The chalet was great. The hosts were extremely warm, welcoming, and friendly. The only problem I had was the gravel road. Thank you for an awesome stay!
Road definitely needed a higher vehicle especially if it rained. The large patio under the roof is a big bonus and a very nice place to hang out. Can choose to grill on gas or charcoal. Host and hostess very helpful and friendly. Great to just break away from the hustle and bustle. The roar of the river all day is like listening to the sea all day. We really enjoyed riding around the farm with our bikes or even going for a walk.
We were blessed to stay at Crocriver Chalet during the October School holidays with our 9-year-old daughter. The chalet is well-equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The view from the verandah is breathtaking, and we spent most of our days lazing on the verandah soaking up the beautiful surroundings. The hosts were absolutely amazing, and we will most definitely love to stay at Crocriver Chalet again!
Do not miss it.
We stayed at Crocriver Chalet for a week, and could have stayed for three more for sure! Nothing is lacking, from hospitality, how the unit is equipped, the natural beauty and for sure the rest for the soul. The view of the Crocodile River and the flow of the water is even more breathtaking than the photos and must be experienced for sure. Toffie's visits were also the highlight of the day, especially for a 4-year-old young lady. Bets, Johan, Emiel and Flora, we had a great time with you and hope to see you again soon!
The unit was spotless, the hospitality amazing and the view breath-taking.
With many years of annual holidays - never experienced such a gem (and its people). The residential unit is 5-star and very spacious. Nothing, but nothing missing. Extremely clean and tidy. So much more is provided to you that is not expected from holiday destinations. A host with the most beautiful hearts (as well as their staff). Breathtaking nature all around you. A shower you will never forget. You return home regenerated, new and grateful hearts. To all future visitors, take a "doggy treat" with you, Toffie is waiting for it. Danie, Marina and children. An unforgettable stay in a breathtaking area. Perfect for anyone/group/family seeking a break off the beaten track. Definitely worth a repeat visit, a weekend was not enough for me. This place is beyond expectations.
