The road to the accommodation is very rocky and bad. The accommodation itself is not up to standard and needs renovation. The overall feeling one gets from the accommodation is that the units are neglected and abandoned. I will not stay there again and certainly do not recommend it to friends or family.

Good value for money.
The welcome was very warm. The place is beautiful. The facilities are very clean and usable. No noise, it was peaceful and tranquil. A great farm retreat just minutes away from the city.

Nice stay. All our basic needs were met. The pools were pretty clean. The accommodation was clean and tidy. The only problem was the big house further down the road where there was noise until the early hours of the morning.

The 4-8 sleeper at Cynthia's Country Stay is an okay accommodation for a couple of days. One of the rooms is very small (double bed). The cleanliness of the house was okay, but the place was very muggy upon arrival. You must let them know if you arrive early as they are very strict about it (we had a 5-hour trip and arrived early - they didn't like that at all, even though we were willing to wait). There was minimal signal for WiFi and phone calls. The accommodation is very cheap for the area, and you get what you pay for.
Very quiet, if there was a sound curfew then it would be perfect. Maintenance will not hurt the place. Very comfortable otherwise, dirt road won't be impossible for a small car either.
Our hosts were extremely friendly and looked after our every need.
A lovely, tranquil stay out in Harties. The hosts were happy to help with any requests and a great time was had by all.
New kitchen items may need to be looked at, but other than that it was ok.

We were forced to move the booking at short notice to a future date. So we haven't stayed there yet. Cynthia was very accommodating and communicated quickly and kindly throughout.
You get what you pay for in the accommodation, Cottage no 1, an old farmhouse, no luxury, the environment's peace and quiet, the swimming pool was a saving grace, service really great, thank you very much again.
Very serene. The hosts were very kind and understanding. The chalet is very close to the pool and equipped with everything you need. Prior to check-in, the host updates you regarding the weather, loadshedding, etc. We really enjoyed our stay. NB, you need an SUV for the gravel road, esp. if it rains.
Upon arrival we are told that there is no power for a whole week. At midnight we had to call so that the owners could be contacted to turn off generators. If they had been honest in advance about the power we would have arranged alternative accommodation.
The place was clean and the service was good, we found everything, plates, mugs, glasses and cutlery to use, and they were very clean, and we sleep comfortably.
Affordable. Owner is very friendly and helpful. As for location, did not feel safe. Gate opens automatically when you stop in front of it.
Cynthia's Country Stay is exactly that: a place to stay outside the hustle and bustle of the city. We had a great time around the fire in the lapa which gave us privacy from the other chalets. The brick unit has been converted to provide sleeping space for a whole family. The thresholds to various rooms are clearly marked for safety. Everything was very clean and tidy. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed for a weekend visit.
Only issue was the sugar and coffee provided was not enough especially for the 8 sleeper cottages.
Cynthia was most welcoming and kept me informed until my arrival. I was only overnighting but had a pleasant stay.

This is a charming and basic getaway in the bush. The hosts are friendly and accommodation. There is a jacuzzi, pools and splash pool. Private little garden area. This is like Glamping - camping with tiled floors. A wonderful experience.

I grow up in farms and that brought back my good memories and my kids loved every moment.
The pictures on the web and the reality are not the same. The power in the building is dangerous. Both myself and my husband were kicked by the power at the kitchen light and the fridge. The owner's attitude is friendly and helpful. The building leaves much to be desired. I would not recommend it.
My friends and I enjoyed our stay at Cynthia's Country Stay and are planning on going back soon. A very big thanks to Colleen and Steven for their warm welcome.

It was home away from home. The staff very friendly.
The stay was not wishes. The beds are very old and used up (like a boat) the toilets are on the outside like an ablution block and very small. There was no hot water to shower in and the bathtub is old and full of marks. The toilet is flat on the ground and difficult to use. There are no signposts from a day old. The dirt road there is terribly bad. I spoke to some of the other guests and what they advertised was not satisfied with the accommodation. Sunday morning the whole place was without water and we had to leave earlier than planned. Cynthia's Country Stay deserves no stars

Quiet and peace in the forest.
We visited Cynthia's Country Lodge on 27th of April 2018 and my friends and our kids loved the place especially mountain hiking, the also enjoyed all the activities that are on site and their environment. Their rooms are spacious and you get to sleep comfortably. Colleen the manager and her staff were so friendly and helpful and there's a security guard who checks the guests if they are fine. We would love to visit again soon. I will definitely recommend Cynthia's Country Lodge to friends and family.

The place was nice and quiet, we enjoyed it. Just the road to the place is a bit not nice, the gravel road to the house. But otherwise all was in order.
It was a lovely overnight place. We had a wonderful rest. We were received very kindly and everything was ready for our arrival. Everything as neat and clean. We will definitely use them again!

We had the best time at Broedestroom Cynthias, except for the deceptive advertising on horse riding on site and other activities, which were never there and we booked a house as advertised instead we had to sleep on the chalets.
Please let your customers know in time that your place is in a forest so they can come prepared for things like mosquito repellent. Some of our kids are allergic, so we had to go out on a Christmas day to find something to help them. But more importantly, fix your fridge, stove and oven.
Highly recommended for the nature person with a quiet nature and who can see and appreciate the gifts from our Creator's hand.
We have fun, love the place but 2 things was not happy with: the 1. dogs roaming around and 2. The bed was uncomfortable, but overall it was fun, relaxed and peaceful.
The bedding is old and worn, the TV does not work, the place itself looks and is neglected, it does not feel clean and safe and we did not feel comfortable staying there. The people were friendly. The pictures are very misleading.
Although we only stayed for one night, it was nice and peaceful. The service was very good and the accommodation was extremely neat and clean. Definitely value for money and I can recommend it. The road there is just a little bad, but it's not an insurmountable problem.

There were many similar places for the same price.
Looked good at first, but outside toilet facilities were very bad and ceiling fans were in poor condition. Too big for single traveler.
Everything was perfectly clean, safe we do up and down at night we were safe.
Friendly reception. All amenities up to a dishwasher at your disposal. Grandchildren had enough distraction with swimming pool, swings, climbing frames, sand pit and just running around and playing. Not one dull moment experienced. Accommodation units neat and clean.

The stay was horrible! It is not at all as it is advertised on the website. No safety. The beds are battered and the place is not of a good standard, it appears dirty and poorly maintained. I would not recommend it at all.

I traveled with a group of friends over a long weekend and we enjoyed our stay. There is absolute privacy with no interference from the managers, however they were always available and keen to assist when required to do so. If you plan to be outdoors , the accommodation is well suited as it is built for functionality with no luxury facilities whatsoever. The outside shared ablution facilities are somewhat clean. However I would not recommend the bathtub for obvious reasons. We enjoyed sitting outside at night by the fire (after braaing) to gaze at the stars. If travelling in winter, I would recommend that you bring your own warm blanket. The kettle was incredibly slow and the microwave did not work. A highlight of the trip was the hike up the mountain. There was a magnificent view of the Hartbeespoort Dam. All in all I would definitely return there.
I think you need to state that the main house's pool is also for sharing because we ended up with people who wanted to swim, but we didn't allow them too because we were not told nor is it written on the website that the pool is to be shared. Otherwise we had a great stay. Thanks to Phillip and Steve.
I was so disappointed. The bathroom, oh my, here were rats droppings everywhere and you can just see there is no cleaning done there at all. I was really and truly disappointed.
We had a wonderful stay. The facilities are adequate and all basic necessities are in the unit.
The place does not look at all like in the photos, it is advertised incorrectly. The place is falling apart and it is dirty, I would not recommend the place at all.
The photos on the website do not show all the options. We made a reservation based on what we could see on the internet and when we got there we stayed in a small building that was falling apart without a working boiler and beds that were so hollow you had to cling to the side while you sleep. The road to the place is also terribly bad and not recommended for a normal sedan.

The dirt road to the place is in bad shape. The place is very basic. It is an old farm homestead that they have turned into accommodation. There is no luxury. There are wild woods around the homestead. I don't think we will stay there again.
The dirt road leading to the chalet is a nightmare! They should warn people about it! A nice setting but too many little things that bothered us when we arrived. There were 2.6 km of the dirt road that one cannot drive faster than 20 km/h. It was a mercy that we still arrived in daylight. Everyone was friendly but on arrival there was no hot water and the power plugs in the master bedroom didn't work. On returning from a wedding in the evening we noticed that one room didn't even have a light bulb in the roof. The neighbors next door complained about their boiler not working and when they wanted to use the gas stove, there was no gas either. It has a nice location, but we would not stay there again.
The houses are comfortable but need a lot of attention, the same goes for the beds and bedding.
Very weak. The drivers are very helpful and nice. The photo on the web page of the guest house is the only thing that is correct. However, the photos of the chalets and cottages are not entirely correct. The places are very untidy and the curtains are just draped over the arrangements. The dirt road to the place is also very bad, although it is no one's fault now. I would not recommend it. There was no view and there was no line between us and the next plot.
It is very private and a getaway from the city. We initially booked a room in the guest house at R800 for a family room (we were 4 women). On our arrival late in the afternoon our room had not been cleaned yet and they offered us a separate cottage which we didn't have a problem with. Although we had great privacy, the bedding was not in good condition. The one double bed did not have a fitted sheet and the mattress was a bit creepy. The dishcloths in the kitchen were also not terribly clean and there was, for example, still old salad in the fridge. We were also a little worried because it seemed so isolated.
The location and the way to get there is something terrible. The bedding was so dirty that we had to sleep on our own towels. We drove at 3 o'clock in the morning because we were badly bitten by fleas and mosquitoes, so badly that we could not sleep. Horrible experience.
We stayed in the 8 sleeper chalet, more inside chairs should be provided, Fans needed in rooms, shower needed cleaning. With a bit of effort the chalet would be lovely. Swimming pool could be cleaner. Ablutions outside needed attention as they were also dirty.
Thank you very much Cynthia, you made us feel very much at home and we had a wonderful rest in the quiet surroundings away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
It was a an awesome experience as my children had fun been close to the ducks and chickens; and the people are so friendly.
Pleasant scenery and pool. Very nice stay. However, the directional sign posts to Cynthia's are poorly marked on the main road, especially if you do not know the area and are driving at night. The dirt road was a nightmare.... otherwise, a pleasant stay.
Cynthia's Country House & Chalets suited our needs and we enjoyed our stay.
