Was a great experience! Absolutely beautiful location! Hostesses are very friendly and helpful.
It is in a peaceful environment and the view we had of mountain and sea was exceptional.

Most of the drinks in the Honesty Bar had expired - The tonic water expired in 2018. The breakfast was of very poor standard. The cold meats and cheeses had already started melting and curling by the time it arrived at our table. The waitress that was left to run the kitchen on Sunday morning did not manage on her own.
The access in the estate to where you live is almost impossible by car. Narrow road in which you cannot turn around and especially for older people it is very poor. Some of the amenities like the coffee maker were broken and the fridge was off, which doesn't help if you're only staying one night and some of your food is perishable. Water pressure weak.
For us, De Molen is the ideal overnight stop for a business visit to Cape Town. Good value for money.
The guesthouse managers went the extra mile to welcome us properly, even though it was after hours. The rooms were neat and convenient and had underfloor heating. I would want to stay here again.
They were not aware of our booking and we didn't get the accommodation we booked.
Please do not use De Molen. They have a 4 star rating but this was very poor. The place was left to a maid and not only was she unfriendly but also unwilling to help. The so-called self-catering cottage for which we paid R1200 for the night was an old maid's room. It was new and dirty and I got asthma. The bedding and towels were very dirty and creepy. Really an unpleasant experience.
Good food, good service. When I come back to the Cape I will definitely stay at De Molen again. What a fantastic time.

Our stay was very pleasant but a few things were lacking: There was filter coffee without a filter paper for the machine, super pathetic water pressure, an absolutely horrible shower experience. The DStv did not work at all. The TV said "Your account is in arrears". The light in the sitting/kitchen area was loose and the light did not work.
We were warmly greeted and treated as friends by the staff. They were highly service-oriented and both the manager, Lisa, and Lizzy, were outstanding hosts. Breakfasts were good and we loved our room.
We really enjoyed our stay at De Molen. The reception was warm, friendly and very pleasant.

Friendly reception. Very spacious room and spotless bathroom. Clean linen and new towels. Good variety at breakfast. Quiet environment only field noises. A jewel for peace of mind.
