"Die Dampondok."

The house was very comfortable with everything we needed for a relaxing one night stay. The braai area was particularly nice, and we spent most of the night there with a fire going. Beautiful views of a farm dam with a mountain backdrop. The showers and toilets are dorm room style.

No one to welcome us. We had no electricity and all the appliances are electrical, had no signal, no Wi-Fi and no lamps. I would recommend maybe putting in a gas stove and kettle and lamps when there is no electricity, as when it's off the whole town is off. We couldn't make food the whole day for the kids.

The Dampondok is well equipped for self-catering. I must thank the owners for their helpfulness and how they accommodated us after a long day on the road and a late arrival. Unfortunately we couldn't meet in person, but thank you for the friendly reception.

When we arrived it was raining very hard and I only received SMS communication at that time. My route to Die Dampandok took me outside mobile phone reception. However, the cottage is excellent and we had a nice stay after the misunderstanding.

We really enjoyed the evening despite the fact that there was no power. I would suggest that maybe at least a lamp is put in the house, because it is pitch dark at Die Dampondok if there is no power.

Decided to take the road less travelled, and explore a part of the country not yet seen before, it was a nice experience, interesting cottage, offered all one needs for a decent self catering overnight stay, easy to find, secluded, enjoyed using the Dover stove to heat up the place.

Had a great stay, it was cold but there were warm blankets and the fishing was good. Many king carp caught.

We loved the funky building and the location is absolutely beautiful. Everything was clean and facilities great. The only minor draw back was the very small beds, especially the 2nd double which is actually a 3/4. For 5 people is amazing, for 6 a bit of a squash.

The turn off was easy from Sterkspruit, but the 6.7 km gravel road shakes you a bit, but the beautiful ponds, mountains etc. make it worth the drive to the final destination. The house itself is well appointed and the braai area is cute with nice windows. Making food is not a problem because everything is there. One sleeps great because it is very quiet and safe. A wonderful farm outing.

We were 7 motorbikes and a bakkie driving around Lesotho. The Dampondok is very clean, tidy and well equipped. There is also a very nice indoor recreation area with a braai. If I can make a suggestion, it is to take the current stone slab around the house further to the front of the visiting area as well. During the storm, there was a big puddle of mud in front of the door and then you step in the mud into the house.

We had a wonderful stay in Dampondok. Very neat and comfortable. 11km from town. Owner is also very pleasant. Braai area also nicely furnished. Zastron the town is neglected but the surroundings of Dampondok are terribly beautiful. Highly recommended as ? one wants to experience tranquility.

Not clean, all cushions in one room were filthy. Bathroom/toilet section remind me of toilet at primary school! Not what you are expecting from a self-catering cottage. Wooden chairs in the family room/bedroom for light people only! Temperature was 35 degree Celsius and the small bar fridge fitted in that place was not cooling. We filled up ice trays immediately when we arrived at 16h00 as none were available and the next morning ice cubes were still not done. Advertise for 5 persons but only 2 single beds with poor mattresses and a double beds available. Stay away from that place, it is not worth any amount of money.

Very nice stay with everything you need. It's quiet on a farm, only the road signs from the main road are missing and the dirt road was very corrugated iron.
