It had everything we needed and was so relaxed and welcoming.
The cottage has good linen, towels, and mattress. It is well equipped and provided with coffee, sugar and milk. I had a great stay, no complaints.

Our week-long stay at Die Kothuis was very pleasant. Our host was very accommodating. The unit has nearly everything needed for a home-from-home comfort.
We had a wonderful stay! The place looks small, but it is well furnished so that one does not feel cramped. It had everything we needed. It is well located and I can see myself enjoying my entire holiday in the cottage!
Owner's comment is that somewhere in the apartment there is catchment. Stopped in several places, but no reception while WiFi in main house is on and available.
We travel with a Rottweiler and accommodation remains a problem. The Cottage exceeded our expectations, separate entrance, fenced, neat and well equipped. 100% recommend it.
The Kothuis was a rest-for-the-soul home for me during my husband's hospitalization. As someone who did not know Somerset West at that time, Die Kothuis was conveniently located near the hospital and shopping centre. In terms of amenities, nothing was lacking. Appreciated still being able to have power during load shedding times, as well as WiFi catch-up, plus an electric blanket as a treat against the cold winter evenings.
Great little spot for the month we stayed. Load shedding doesn't really affect in the evenings at certain times as the generator is turned on. Hosts were prompt with requests and always willing to oblige. Hermien was a great host. Thanks.
Everything was beautiful and clean and we were warmly received. Might recommend that laundry soap be provided as there is a washing machine. Other than that, everything is great.

Lovely quiet surroundings and accommodation that is very spacious, well equipped and tidy. Depending on the purpose of your visit, the location is excellent for someone who wants to explore the Cape area in any direction.
Pets are safe, screened and behind gates. Provision is made for power during "load shedding".

Only wish it had working wifi (for my teenagers!) and the sleeper couch bedding was not clean. Other than that, perfect. Couldn't ask for anything more. Never saw owners though, not on arrival or when leaving. I rang the bell to hand back the key but was told over the intercom to "post" them in the postbox. Not a warm welcome at all.

We only stayed for one night, but it was private and secure. The owner was friendly and welcoming. So welcoming when we arrived on a very cold night that they even had an electric blanket on in our bed. I was such a suprise to get into a warm, welcoming bed. So special. Hermione is very friendly and helpful. She took my wife to the pharmacy to get prescription medicine. She came to check on my surgery in the afternoon and asked how it was going and offered help if we needed anything. We will definitely come and stay at Die Kothuis again.
The reception at the Cottage was very friendly. Owner also called for help for our caravan's faulty brakes. Cottage is very neat, modern and offered so much more than we expected. Our family will definitely stay with them again.
The full DStv package was a bonus for my children.
For the price you can't get better. All the equipment in excellent condition and very clean. Close to supermarket and shooting range where we participated. We were very impressed and should we shoot there again next year, I will stay there again with an open heart.
One of my best stays in Helderberg. Definitely will stay here again. The location was perfect. The fact that the unit is freestanding and gives the feeling of individuality also was a plus. The pictures don't do as much justice to being there - it's cosy and very comfortable with little kids especially. The extra details like the little table in the bathroom for toiletries, extra detergents was also a nice touch.

It was truly more than we could have asked for. Close to the day hospital, clean, quiet and private. We as rural people are used to a peaceful silence and I can honestly say that Die Kothuis offered us that. We will definitely go again and recommend it to everyone.
