What a breath of fresh air. Louise was the perfect hostess. Most of the plugs and bar fridge in the room didn't work, but that's because there was an issue with the inverter, but it was resolved in the morning. Load shedding does its bit to keep us humble. Such a beautiful venue. Attention to detail. The only thing I would change is to have black-out curtains on the doors as it is a bit bright at night, but then I'm extremely light sensitive and struggle to sleep if it's too bright. Other than that it's a stunning place and in a beautiful location. I'll definitely be back.
We travel a lot because we work and sleep at many places around the country. This guest house was without a doubt the most beautiful and best place we have ever been! Louise and her staff are absolutely wonderful and make you feel at home and special. All other guesthouses will be measured against this in the future. Exceptional and VERY SPECIAL!

This was our 10th visit to Dio Dell 'Amore. We always know what to expect, excellent service, clean and comfortable. One of our favourite places.
Pleasurable, restful overnight stay. Great restaurant just 500 m away.
1) Room was cold, 16°C, aircon didn't work on warm. 2) Bathroom taps need new washers as taps had to be forced shut to stop water flow. 3) I departed during load shedding in the pitch dark, no emergency lighting in my room, the dark passageway, 2 flights of pitch dark stairs, pitch dark foyer and dining room. Zero lighting despite them expecting me at 07:00 for breakfast.

This place has 12 rooms built in a Tuscan style and nice view of the river and sea. You also get a big breakfast in the morning.
The room was spacious, bed and bedding comfortable and good quality, the setting is private and secure, close to town and the beach - all in all, an ideal place for a quiet getaway.

This is more like a 3-star establishment. Bathroom small, no shower curtain, so at least the floor is clean after a shower. Carpet threadbare, TV's DSTV and Netflix did not work. In need of maintenance. Great breakfast though.

I have never seen such a beautiful garden before, it was amazing. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, just what I needed after such a long time. I could sit on the balcony for hours, just staring at the beautiful surroundings and the lagoon and sea stretching out a few metres away.

Our experience was good, but still there were some aspects that were not sufficient. Dirty linen, no milk. The water pressure was particularly low, especially the hot tap - sometimes there was no water. Everything was still very professionally handled. Thank you Dio Dell'Amore.

However, DStv not working and dirty linen necessitated a late night move to another room, which was handled professionally. Then the very limited/basic DStv package detracted from the five star rating.
