The Drumsheugh Farmstead and Cattle Farm is set in the heart of the Green Kalahari. Relax while enjoying the natural surroundings of the Kalahari in a remote and private area on a working farm 60 km east of Askham, on the R31 towards Van Zylsrus, which is a gravel road.

The Farmstead can accommodate up to 26 guests in 9 bedrooms. The main house comprises 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a guest toilet. There are 4 additional flatlets. Two of the flatlets each contain 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a kitchenette, while the other 2 flatlets each contain 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom. Each bedroom contains a double bed or 2 single beds. The bathrooms each contain a shower, a toilet, and a wash basin. Additional guests can be accommodated on one of 4 double sleeper couches in the living area.

The large central well-equipped kitchen is fitted with fridges, a stove and oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, and even a bread maker. The air-conditioned living area features a 10-seater dining table and a wood stove, seating, a flat-screen TV, and a pool table. There is a large covered outdoor braai area with seating and a second wood stove. The stunning front pool deck offers outdoor dining furniture, a splash pool, and sun loungers, and overlooks a game waterhole. A vehicle with 4x4 driving capabilities is required to reach the Farmstead.

Take walks through the veld, climb the red dunes, or enjoy viewing a range of antelope present around the house. Guided drives through the rest of the farm are possible with prior arrangements.

The farms' purpose is mostly for breeding programs of Bonsmara cattle, sable antelope, roan antelope, and black impala however naturally occurring wildlife such as springbok, oryx antelope, steenbuck, duiker, aardvark, porcupine, tortoise and a variety of birds, roam freely across the farms. Drumsheugh offers travellers to the Kalahari a unique opportunity to experience farm life in a completely private setting. With Kgalagadi Park 135 km away, it is an ideal stopover location en route to or from the park.

House rules
Please note, there is a gravel road leading to the accommodation. Guests are required to enquire about the condition of the road, before arrival, as it could be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.

The Cottage can be accessed by a normal vehicle, however, the 5 km road from the main gate to the Farmstead is thick sand and requires a vehicle with 4x4 driving capabilities.

The Farmstead is supplied with Eskom electricity and water from the Kalahari pipeline scheme. Cellular signal is present but other than Vodacom, not always very reliable.

Please ensure all doors and windows are closed when leaving the cottage/homestead.

Due to all the farm animals, we can unfortunately not allow any pets.

No smoking inside the cottage/homestead.

Noise levels are to be kept to a minimum.

A limited amount of firewood is supplied daily. Additional bundles can be purchased.

Good quality beds guarantee a good night's rest. Linen and towels, and a limited supply of shampoo, bath soap, and toilet paper are provided.

Collection of firewood and making of any fires outside the dedicated areas is strictly prohibited.

Guests must please take measures to ensure that they are well informed and equipped in the event of a medical or any other type of emergency.

Guests staying in the Cottage will not have use of the splash pool. The use of the splash pool is exclusively for guests staying at the Farmstead.

Please note hunting practices take place on the premises.
