Stayed overnight at Dunford's Loft during a 2 day cross country race and it was nice to be able to get up refreshed every morning to go running. Under shade only parking is certainly welcome seeing that it is either very hot or there is an afternoon thunderstorm.
Easy to find and convenient access and departure without a fuss. Wanted for nothing, owners were very helpful and accommodating.
Perhaps the lighting could be improved somewhat.
So nice to saddle up here after a long ride. It is cold and has load shedding. Still, our stay was wonderful. Hot water, nice place to sleep and a winner of a fireplace with a box of wood. Couldn't have asked for more. Thanks to Marge and Frank.
The unit we stayed in has everything you need but definitely needs attention. It is a bit neglected, but the host is unhealthy and then you understand the circumstances. The hostess was very helpful as our unit did not have hot water (in July) but unlocked another unit for us to use the shower facilities.

The hostess was very friendly and helpful. The unit is nice and clean and has everything you need for self-catering. Very nice view of the landscape of Himeville, it feels like you are on a farm when you sit on the porch. The fireplace in the unit is truly a winner, thank you very much for that.
A nice place to stay. Thomas Road is one massive pothole, so it's difficult to get to. Hot water was also quite an issue, with a gas geyser.
Urgent maintenance required. No provision for load shedding, even candles would help.

Maple Cottage is compact but had everything we needed for our stay. And the location was convenient for our activities. Frank and Marge are friendly hosts.

We visited this destination as a family for Christmas. It was incredibly fun and we took the most beautiful photos. The area is picturesque. The unit was clean and had more than enough of everything for our 3 nights. The owners are incredibly friendly too, I would recommend the guest house to anyone. It is also close to the Sani Pass trail.
The place was tranquil, away from the maddening crowd. It was a perfect accommodation for our trip up to Sani Pass and into Lesotho.

Sleeping facilities very neat and the fireplace a bonus. We had a very nice stay.
On our arrival we were spoiled with a case of wood for the hearth and for braai. Also fresh towels for each guest. The owner was very helpful and met all our needs very quickly. It was unfortunately rainy for the weekend we were there, but the owner was extremely helpful in helping us visit places that the children would enjoy. The garden is spacious and one's view is a beautiful picture of the mountains. There is a lovely restaurant with a fireplace less than a kilometer from the cottage and many other cute places within an hour's drive.
The host is very accommodating. The unit itself is excellent and exceptionally well equipped. There is even skudunet parking for your car.

The cottage was small, but very well equipped and comfortable enough for what we wanted for a getaway weekend. We all loved the fire pit and the stunning view over the farm and the berg in the background.
Dunford's Loft is an old house with a large yard that is very well looked after. The main house (where the owners live) together with the accommodation options for guests are all situated on a huge lawn with remarkable garden. The unit where we stayed meets all the requirements to make our own food via the two-plate stove or microwave. The kitchen is equipped with everything needed for cooking (pots, pans, cutlery etc.). There is also a kettle and bar fridge. The cottage has a large bed, shower, toilet, sink, TV, as well as chairs to use in front of the TV or bar stools if one wanted to use the kitchen counter as a table (which came in handy). Our cottage also had a small porch, with an outdoor table and chair. It's covered if the rain bothers you. In front of the cottage is a communal barbecue area and seating to perfectly round off the stunning large garden. The owner and landlady were both very friendly and did not hesitate to assist us. We went for a walk on the walkway, via the garden gate at the bottom of the yard, which is about a 400 - 500 m walk to a nearby pond and park, and the walk in nature rounded off the day and peace of mind perfectly. Would definitely recommend this place for couples or small groups.

It is very peaceful and quite. The room is nicely set up. There was even wood for the fireplace and once lit made the room warm and cozy.
I loved our stay, it snowed, the rooms were very cosy and warm with the fireplace. The beds have electric blankets. The grounds were big enough and safe for the children to play in and not feel like we were disturbing others. It was perfect and definitely value for money.

Nice stay at Frank's. He called us a few times to make sure we were traveling safely, was during fires on N3 at Mooirivier.
We were there for function as caterers. So we only slept over and did not visit. But the overnight stay was perfect, comfortable beds and clean room.
It was definitely worth staying there, will definitely recommend and use their services again in the future.

We had such a welcome reception in a safe, quiet area. The accommodation was beautifully clean and there was everything we needed. The beds are in a particularly great condition, we slept wonderfully!
The space we hired sleeps 6, we initially booked for 5 adults, fortunately it turned out that 2 of the party was not able to make it. Even though there are beds for 5 adults, the space inside and the seating does not allow for 5 adults. The rest of the accommodation was acceptable, staff and owners were very friendly and attentive. The 4-legged hosts are super friendly and came for a pet every chance they got, made me miss my doggos at home.
Small room at back of house with double bunk for 1 person or 2 friends. Self-catering and safe with beautiful gardens. Private braai area with no view, but free to walk around front of home for the view. Very friendly hosts. Great base for sight-seeing the Underberg/Sani area.
Very quiet, but small things can be done to make it better, e.g. there was only half a roll of toilet paper. Luckily we still had some in our car! No complimentary bath soap. We forgot to pack. The owner saw us when we arrived and by chance drove again early in the morning before us. A bit disappointing, but hopefully they are more available and accessible at other times.
Very well located near Sanipas which we drove the next day. The sofas in the living room are just laid out and dirty. The fireplace was a winner on cold New Year's Day.

Frank is very helpful and friendly. Did not like the TV programs, not even channel 101 or sport. The cottage we stayed in needs a bit of refurbishing, curtains are torn and the chair not comfortable. Otherwise very happy, will go there again if in the area.

DStv not working correctly.
I am from Potchefstroom. Himeville was my farthest overnight town on my motorcycle tour from Potch to Boesmansnek border post and back again. Everything you need (safe and clean accommodation, friendly reception and helpful owners).
We received a lot of hospitality. For silence and a place to switch off with a glass of wine in front of a fireplace, this is a place to be. It's also very safe to walk to a dam or just through the town.
Well appointed, we took the cheapest unit and even that was lovely.
Place to rest and recharge your batteries.
The owner was eager to help when we told him we got a puncture and made sure we arrived safely at the venue. Constant communication. The chalet was very cosy and clean. I will definitely go back for a retreat.

Very neat and the owner was friendly. There were a few problems, like the light in the bathroom that wasn't working and no hot water. We only realised it early the morning and could therefore not bring it under the owner's attention.
Dunford's Loft is sufficient. I just wish I had known in advance that there was no oven, only a microwave and two-plate stove, so I could have planned accordingly.

The mornings and afternoons with the beautiful garden and the mountains was good for our souls. The fresh ciabatta bread baked especially for us was a tasty and delicious gift we enjoyed. Will definitely recommend it especially before leaving for Lesotho. Pin Oak 1 had everything we needed for self catering.

We stayed in Peach cottage, a "budget cottage". Place is quite small, after a few days it can start to get cramped, especially if the weather is bad. Our only request would be that the mattresses be replaced. Otherwise we actually had a nice stay. Frank and his wife went out of their way to help us. We were looking for a place to basically shower and sleep, for that the Peach Cottage is perfect.
The unit is tidy with all the necessities for our stay. The guests made us feel welcome upon our arrival in Himeville and then gave us our privacy. The dogs stole my heart and contributed to giving the accommodation a homely atmosphere. The location is excellent, close to all the main holiday attractions in the area. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet "get away" weekend. See you again.
