For the perfect, best-of-both-worlds type of getaway. Perfectly nestled in a valley between a couple of mountains, just outside of Sedgefield. Beautiful enough to experience the splendour of nature at its best. Close enough to quite a few beaches to enjoy the feel of sand between your toes. Absolutely stunning. Thank you, John and V for your hospitality during my stay. Your place is blessed with every nuance a nature lover will be able to appreciate.
It is cold in winter so bring warm clothes.
The 30 km cycle loop is a must.

This is the ideal place to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle. Neat, clean, fully equipped and moreover surrounded by the most beautiful nature in a safe and peaceful environment. John and Vee are a great host and hostess and made me feel welcome straight away. You just feel at home when you step in! It was an experience for me to barbecue outside under the stars at night, and I could listen to all the unique night sounds. In the morning I woke up to the most beautiful birdsong, and could enjoy my coffee and biscuits on the porch, what a privilege! I only wish I could stay longer, three days was hopelessly too short! Would definitely stay at Eastbrook River Village again, thank you very much!

It was so beautiful and so nice and peaceful and private. We looked at the stars in the evening and swimming in the river was an experience. The owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Will definitely want to go again soon and for longer.
We booked a room with a king size bed. Instead we got a normal double bed. There is no oven and only a two plate gas stove and a small microwave.
Location is beautiful and peaceful. If you are wanting to get away from city life and enjoy being out in nature, then this is the place to be. Room very comfortable and has everything one requires. Staff also very helpful and friendly.
2 nights' overnight stay in Sedgefield as part of our visit to George to the other side of Plettenberg Bay. Was looking for a quiet place in nature, but still comfortable for my mother who is 77 years old. I really regretted booking 2 nights in advance. The bathroom of the unit was very impractical. The sinks are so high that I only reach 1.63m with my chin to brush my teeth. Can't even manage to rinse mouth properly. Toilet again built on another very impractical platform. My mother struggled at night. We didn't have hot water for shower in the morning. There was load shedding at night for 2 hours. After I inquired there was a reset of something to make the gas geyser work. Surely the management must have looked at this early in the morning, because it seems to be every time there was load shedding. At 8 o'clock in the morning there was load shedding again. If there is no power, there is no water either! No generator to run the water pump. We just packed up and drove.
I was very happy with the accommodation. The only improvement I would suggest is to add a small table and 2 chairs if one wants to eat indoors.

Friendly reception, lovely place to stay, what a pleasure to see no TV in the cottage. Fry in half concha with more than enough wood provided. Nice walk in the area. There was also load shedding from 6-8pm, but it didn't even bother us, that's how nice our stay was. Only stayed 1 night on the way back home, but we will stay there again. One of our nicest and most relaxing places to stay ever.
Must have more mirrors for ladies who want to blow dry their hair. Grill must be clean before guests arrive. Lots of spiders in the room. Fumigation first.

Clean and well looked after. The views were breathtaking and the peace and tranquility was good for the soul. Waking up to the birds chirping in the morning. I had a great time and only regret that I couldn't stay longer to experience all the activities. This is a really great break from everything busy, but also not too far from a shop or to explore places like Knysna, Wilderness and George. I can highly recommend it!

Perfect getaway spot for your soul to rest again! It's absolutely "breathtaking" with the trees, river and of course the Environment! Was so lucky to see a Knysna Loerie on one of my walking routes! The weekend was very nice. The view is beautiful, and we enjoyed our privacy. Facilities are clean and very tidy.
Very nice stay. Little things like a heater in the room or electric blanket would have helped a lot. It was cold this weekend. Drying cloths and toilet paper were not provided. Otherwise everything was fine. The owners were very helpful and kind. It's a bit out of Sedgefield so if you don't mind driving it's very convenient. Very cute restaurant just around the corner which is great if you have children.

Eastbrook River Lodge is well situated, in excellent accommodation, with all the necessities at your disposal for a stay away from home. Anything out of the ordinary required can be easily obtained from nearby Sedgefield. Plenty of wood and firelighters are provided for the braai, more than sufficient tea, coffee, milk, sugar and mini jams provided. The scenery is amazing and the river is a few minutes' walk away - stunning views with many different bird species. Great bonfire lit in the evenings for guests to mingle and chat over a few drinks. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Well done Eastbrook River Lodge - we had an awesome stay!! One small issue, we would have liked a longer mirror on the wall opposite the bed or on the wall next to the bed (bathroom door side).

Eastbrook River Lodge is an amazing place for people who like the outdoors. It's a place where you should book an extended stay. A two night stay won't do. It's a place where you go and unwind for a week. It's new, modern, big units, friendly and helpful staff make your stay there amazing. It's a must-see and must-visit place. I will definitely go back and for a longer stay next time.
Service and staff, facilities, setting and location are excellent. Rooms are close to each other so a mixture of those who want to go to bed early and those who want to stay late does not work well. No TV was a disappointment, but perhaps seen as a back-to-nature is how it should be, but it should perhaps only be mentioned with discussion.

The scenery is breathtaking. The units are neat and well furnished to facilitate your self-catering visit. The water pressure was a little weak in the bath and the water was not hot at times. I will not forget the Eastbrook River Lodge again.
The place to have a peaceful holiday, with beautiful landscape, between forests and river. The residential units are spacious, clean and well equipped. Lots of places to visit. I would recommend it.
