The house is beautiful and spacious, the kitchen well equipped. Johnson is very helpful. However, the water supply to the master bedroom bathroom is very very slow. Just a few things to note apart from the water supply to bathroom in master bedroom, the ceiling fan in master bedroom not working, the air conditioning does work but can't be turned on when some of the other guests are downstairs, the circuit breaker is too small to handle it. But apart from the few small things, we had a wonderful stay and will definitely stay there again.

"3-night stay at Eden Safari House."

This home is very stately and quite grand. Bedrooms are beautifully decorated, and home contains some amazing African sculptures and huge carved wardrobes (needed a ladder to get to the hanging section!) Sadly, this once grande dame needs much maintenance. Most taps, plugs and showerheads need replacing. Prep bowl tap barely reaches the sink, with a trickle of water. Upstairs shower gets water pumped from a JoJo, but not very effective. Tiles throughout the entire house extremely slippery, as well as the shower floors and pool surrounds. Be careful with your kids running around. Kitchen placement extremely frustrating, as no direct access to the dining room. One has to double back out the kitchen, back down a passage to get to the dining area. Kitchen cupboards need a revamp - very sticky drawers. Light fittings in lounge broken. Not enough power points in the rooms. Had to hunt to find the only one on the far wall. And for an alleged 5-star rated establishment, please do not provide one-ply toilet paper! The "butler" Johnson, as diligent and hardworking as he is, was very dour, although very helpful when I addressed some issues with the owner. Didn't offer to help get our heavy bags upstairs. Kept house very clean though, although lots of mildew in showers. He was right there when you didn't need him (came to clean pool while I was having a cuppa on the patio in my pyjamas), but not there when you did need him. Went to visit neighbours apparently. Maybe needs some hospitality training. If you are one of those that enjoy the peace and quiet while hubby and son are in the park - forget it. Being right by the main road, busload after busload of (very loud) workers arrive in front of the house. Traffic noise from main road also an issue. Wifi does not reach the main bedroom at all. Have suggested a wifi extender. With these in mind, I am sure this establishment can be brought back to the stature it might have been in the past, but 5-star - it's a no from us.

They are currently building a house next to Eden Safari and it was uncomfortable because the workers keep looking at you while you sit on the porch. The butler was a bit of an issue as we were told that if we wanted to use him we had to pay extra, which is not the impression you get from looking at the web page, but it was sorted out in the end and Johnson helped a lot.

Very neat place, in a safe environment, many animals come to the house, house needs a bigger circuit breaker, upstairs and downstairs aircons cannot be used together, then the power trips, we were now at the end of October there, it becomes difficult when the guests watch TV below and the guests in the bedrooms then cannot use aircons, otherwise the place is 10/10, will always go back there again, the butler Johnson, also very helpful.

Eden Safari is truly 5 star accommodation for a very low rate. We ourselves also read reviews of Eden before booking and saw that some people (although he means well and considers it his work) found Johnson's presence to be overkill. I pre-arranged with Monique and asked that Johnson would not show up uninvited but instead that we call him when we needed him and it was indeed great. Eden Safari may not be as secluded as other places in Marloth but definitely offers the privacy you and your family will enjoy. The fact that the waterhole can be seen about 50 meters from the pool patio area has attracted a variety of animals. The service we received from both Monique and Johnson was excellent and we would recommend Eden to any family.

Tasteful and elegant accommodation! Please look at the chain links of the mosquito net in the main bedroom, the links are slightly open. The electricity in the bathroom also had a problem and could not be used for the rest of the weekend. The maid was very helpful, thank you.

We could ask the owner about issues we needed clarity on, and we liked that. We loved the beautiful house and the giraffes eating from our trees outside. It was too windy to swim, but there is a splash pool available. The staff are well trained and friendly.
