Was received very kindly and the owner went out of her way to ensure that we had a comfortable and convenient stay. We use a camping fridge in our car during our travels and we were immediately supplied with an electrical extension cord to keep the fridge running in our car, safely in the garage overnight. We ordered cooked peasant food for dinner and it was delicious and more than enough. Shame that we couldn't eat everything.

Our room was clean and spacious. The host is a real character, making us feel welcome. When she heard that we were yearning for an ice-cold beer after a long drive on a hot summer day, she told us that there is no pub in Britstown anymore. An hour later, she brought us 2 bottles which she had quickly cooled down in her freezer. The host is going the extra mile.

We have never stayed with our dogs anywhere else with such ease: Being able to close the outside area gates meant we had no worries about the dogs bothering anyone else. Everyone was very friendly, and gave us valuable bits of information for the trip.

I have stayed several times at Elsa's @ 27. It feels like family welcoming you. Elsa goes out of her way to make sure you are comfortable and satisfied. The units are very spacious, comfortable and well equipped for anything you may need. The food is very tasty every time and more than enough. The residence is safe and almost opposite the N12, but still quiet and peaceful. It is a great choice for an overnight stay, or even a longer visit.

Elsa's is a real gem of a haven for the weary traveller. Elsa welcomes you with open-faced hospitality. The rooms are neatly clean and warm in winter. The roast rib dinner was honest warm home cooking, followed by Pollina's breakfast with a curry stew. Truly value for money.

Driving into Britstown for the first time in our lives we were skeptical about what to expect but we were so surprised (and happy) to see Elsa's @27 it was actually a sigh of relief when we stopped there . Elsa was very friendly and helpful and the room we slept in was large, clean, tidy and met everything we expected. The beds are of a high quality and comfortable. An oasis!

We had a lovely stay at Elsa's B&B. The accommodation was neat, clean and allowed for safe parking just outside the room which was very convenient. Elsa was very friendly and arranged for us to switch rooms when she saw we had 2 small children for whom a bath in the room would be more appropriate. We had a good barbecue and a great sleep - rested for the next day on the road. We will definitely stay at Elsa's place again in the future!

We know Elsa for many years of sleeping over with her! What more could one want than a neat and clean place to sleep with the delicious braai pack, braai bread and 2 salads. It is absolutely the icing on the cake after many hours of driving! Vehicles are locked and bolted and because we travel with our blind puppy, the yard for each unit is just a bonus for both animal and owner! Thank you Elsa for all your effort every time we stay. The friendliest welcome and warm Karoo hospitality, with an accommodation facility stylishly furnished with everything (and more) required for an overnight stopover. It was our first time at Elsa's @ 27, but it literally became one of our favorite sleepovers overnight. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a great stay!

At the coffee table there is delicious coffee, tea, milk, and. However, there was no water or dishcloth. If you want to rinse out the cups or refill the kettle, you have to do it in the bathroom, which in my opinion is totally unhygienic.

The place is very easy to find. Plenty of parking. Wonderful room we had. The hostess brought boiling water in a flask when we arrived during load shedding so we could make something to drink. We have in no. 3 at Elsa @ 27 overnight. The house is a real old Karoo house that Elsa has repaired where necessary. However, it was done in such a way that the Karoo character was preserved. For example, the dining room still has the original wooden floor that creaks nicely when you walk on it ─ it just makes me want to go back in time! Our little dog was welcome and that counts for a lot of points (arranged in advance)! We could sleep with an open door, because the dog's area or yard is properly fenced and there is even a water bowl to quench the thirst! Yes see, Elsa pays attention to small detail and that makes Elsas @ 27 a nice place to stay! What stood out for me were the good mattresses used and the real Karoo hospitality we experienced! I haven't been able to sleep so well in a long time! Only the best. Two days before our arrival, Elsa called to find out if we were going to have dinner and breakfast and if so, what she could prepare for us! After 2 weeks of eating seafood we thought a Karoo chop would do just the trick. I asked Elsa to get us braai packages and then I will braai myself! When we arrived at Vanrhynspass, the pass was closed due to an accident and we could only drive again after 3 hours of waiting. I let Elsa know that we would therefore be arriving late and she offered that we could then join the other guests for dinner if we so preferred. The offer was gratefully accepted as we were dead tired and there won't really be time left for barbecue. Thank you Elsa and team, we will definitely stay with you again!

Elsa's @ 27 is easy to find and the welcome by Paulina was very warm, even though we didn't arrive until late afternoon. I was glad for the lock up garages for my car and trailer. The room is spacious and well equipped. We also took advantage of the optional fair dinner. It was deliciously prepared and Elsa let herself be guided by the guests' food preferences. She also has a large selection of county jams etc. on display, from which you can purchase. Elsa and Pualina make the tired visitor feel warmly at home. We would love to come again.

The B&B was amazing with a real Karoo feeling all around you. The room was cozy with a private outside area to braai and relax. Breakfast was a highlight.

We stayed 2 nights at Elsa's, and were surprised at the quality of the dinners that were served to us. The salad, the chicken and cheese cake, the homemade bread. I can't get enough of the place and Elsa. Then I haven't even mentioned the jams of the county that are for sale there. It is also much cheaper than in Paternoster. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable, and it really was a place that I would recommend to anyone without hesitation.

Real Karoo hospitality
Very neat place with good facilities. Was cold and electric heating blanket was great. There was load shedding and some form of emergency power would have helped a lot. The kitchen could do well with gas stoves. The main street is very noisy because very heavy vehicles passing through it. However, Elsa @27 is slightly away from the main street and the noise didn't really bother us.
Will stay there again. Definitely recommend it.

Elsa goes out of her way for her guests. We had a good time and ate well. The BBQ packs (we didn't pre-book) were delicious and excellent value for money. We will no doubt include Elsa's at Britstown in our itinerary every time.

The house is next to a garage that borders the main road and the noise at the petrol station and the compressor that switches on during the night can be quite disturbing to light sleepers. It didn't bother me but for my wife. Facilities are neat, clean and comfortable.

I needed a place to stay for my road trip from Cape Town to Johannesburg and Britstown was about halfway, so I looked for and found Elsa's as a convenient place to stay. Elsa welcomed me personally and gave me room no. 1, which was a huge room with 4 beds and a large bathroom with shower. I enjoyed my brief stay for 1 night and was given a delicious breakfast in the morning.
It was good, but it was dusty just for advice, the owner can just get some thing for the bottom of the doors to prevent dust from getting in or most of it. But still it was good and the breakfast was also good. And thanks to you LekkerSlaap team.

Full of courage we hit the road to the Cape, it's a long way. We arrive at our destination for the evening and are so surprised with the beautiful rooms and how comfortable they are. We experienced car problems on the way to Britstown, which meant that we would not arrive until late in the evening. It had been no problem for Elsa and we were in mobile connection. Britstown doesn't have lots of options. We had dinner at the hotel in town and it was way overpriced. Elsa's is a much better option for dinner.

Elsa asked if we would like dinner with our stay and when we arrived she had prepared a feast fit for a king. Because we had to leave early again, she even helped pack us provisions for breakfast. On our way inland we had a lovely braai in front of our room door and enjoyed the Karoo sunset. The guesthouse is very beautiful, neat and comfortable. The hostess makes the whole experience very special. I don't think I've ever experienced such hospitality. It feels as if we've known her for years after just two nights! We will definitely stay there again on our way back to Cape Town.

The hostess really was a good hostess, and invited us as a bonus to experience Manuel Escorsio and partner, who performed in the old church in Britstown. Die only problem we experienced was the shower, it's either boiling hot or freezing cold, the tap settings are really not easy to correct.

Very nice clean and tidy units. Elsa welcomes you as an old acquaintance. Mina's bread is unbeatable. The dinner and breakfast were of good quality. I would stay with Elsa again anytime and definitely recommend it.
We recommend Elsa's @ 27 to all our family and friends. Elsa is a very exceptional hostess and we immediately fell in love with her. We were also spoiled on arrival with a plate full of the most delicious mutton pies which she made for her church function. The sleeping facilities are stylish, comfortably equipped and very neat. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and had some solid conversation with Elsa regarding the area and farming activities. Our stay there was one of the highlights of our Cape holiday!

We were welcomed so warmly after a long day of driving. Elsa wasn't there, but here ladies welcomed us with open arms. The room was beautiful and convenient and it had all the amenities we needed and more. We booked breakfast that night for the following morning and it was surely the BEST farmstyle breakfast we have ever had. Thank you to Elsa and their team for all the trouble and for the warm hospitality we were treated to. It was absolutely fantastic!

The room was very convenient and had a bath as well as a shower. Nice veranda for those who want to sit in the sun. Elsa was wonderfully helpful and full of information. She even prepared special dishes for breakfast to suit our diet. You park your car safely behind a gate. I will definitely recommend it!
Elsa went to so much trouble for us. We left a jacket there and she went out of her way to return it and have it delivered to our home, from Britstown to Windhoek, Namibia. Elsa, you are a five star person who would go the extra mile for everyone. We appreciate your effort, but also your lovely accommodation. Everything was neat, clean and up to standard. I can only speak highly of the guest house. The hostess went out of her way to make us feel at home and give us food, even though we didn't book for it. Rooms are spacious and smell delicious, best quality linen and accessories. It really is a piece of gold in the Karoo, can highly recommend her and would stay there again anytime. Will even take a detour to sleep over there. Staff, so friendly and helpful and just want to spoil - 10/10!

Full of mosquitos (about 30) both times we stayed there. She was aware of the mosquito problem, yet we had to spray when we arrived and had to sleep with the smell of Doom. The second time we stayed there, she also did not spray the rooms before we arrived - we had to spray. No hot water on the morning that we left (could not shower). There was a loud generator noise next door both nights that we stayed there.
So easy to recommend.
Elsa is very hospitable, she makes you feel right at home. The bedrooms are spacious, tidy and the braai packs are a winner. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here. It was nice to sleep over at Elsa's - the accommodation was good and the food very tasty.
From Elsa's first text, we could tell she had a sense of humor. We were welcomed personally and felt very welcome, the room was very neat and clean and tastefully furnished. The barbecue and the next day's breakfast were very tasty and value for money. We are personally dispensed with. I will drive over Britstown to Cape Town again in the future just to spend the night there again. Take that Elsa.

I wouldn't want to stay at any other guest house. It is very well located and the rooms are very neat and well furnished. We slept over with a small baby, Elsa personally made sure we were comfortable, boiled water for baby bottles, kitchen for washing bottles etc! She also quickly put together a fantastic dinner for us for a very reasonable price! Breakfast was lovely and she just packed food for us too! homemade bread with homemade jam was breathtakingly delicious! Also jam bought there! Her maids are awfully cute! Everything we needed and more! Incredible decor in the places too! Had good air conditioning and beds sleep well! Room was more than spacious enough for baby's cot too! Thank goodness we came across Elsa's!

Elsa's friendly personal attention to and execution of each guest's needs in the rooms is unbeatable. One is received personally and seen off. She is interested in each guest's circumstances and personally ensures that your requests are carried out. She also makes your food for meals the way you want it!
We stayed at Elsa's on the evening of 31 Dec '15. She received us very kindly, and stood up with a braai pack, salad, freshly baked bread and delicious jams. The table on the stoep was very nicely set and we enjoyed a delicious braai for New Year's Eve! The accommodation is very tastefully furnished and enough space to move around. And the bed slept very well! Elsa's kindness made us feel very much at home and we will certainly stay there again in the future!
No complaints. Elsa will only have to look after the rooms' hot water: when you've driven far, you don't feel like manipulating taps that don't work properly. Furthermore, everything was very convenient and we will stay there again.

Made very welcome at Elsa's, a well placed guesthouse, and enjoyed an excellent, peaceful overnight stop. I must recommend that you eat in at Elsa's. The meals are excellent in quality and value, like being looked after by your mum or your favourite auntie... If you are routing through Britstown don't miss Elsa's, a great guesthouse.
Elsa is someone who pays attention to the smallest detail. She called early in the morning and asked about meals, etc. Appreciated it very much. We were received very kindly and immediately felt at home. Our room was very tidy, air-conditioned and very good value for money. Also ate very well, while Elsa came to talk to find out more about us. Next time I want to try the reported curry chops as we will definitely be staying there again.

It was our privilege to stay at Elsa's home and enjoy delicious home-made food. Her and Minha's mutton curry is top notch and highly recommended. The accommodation was excellent. Clean, tidy, safe and comfortably equipped with everything you need after the long road. With an excellent cook like Minha and a wonderful hostess like Elsa, you can't go wrong. And if we come to stay again it is especially for two reasons. 1. Elsa, for her lovely company and then of course 2. The delicious mutton curry, and breakfasts.
