I slept very well, but the loation and road to the venue does not feel the safest.
Owner is friendly and very helpful.
The setting is wonderful with stunning gardens. The rooms are excellent and very comfortable. Henry goes out of his way to accommodate and is an excellent host.

Emtonjeni Country Lodge has a peaceful country atmosphere, even though it's situated just off the N1. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the swimming pool provides a welcome cool dip after a day on the road. Breakfast was delicious, with the best coffee we had all holiday!
We were kindly received by the owner who was always considerate. However, we were disappointed in our room. It is really old and needs attention. The toilet leaked and water pooled around it. There were no bath or shower mats either. The accommodation is a bit remote and the road there was very bad. However, the gardens were impressive and well maintained. A small table and chairs in front of the room will help.
Very comfortable place to stay.
The bathroom was dirty. Had to turn on the geyser ourselves after we were assured it was on. The bedding was not clean. The lampshades were worn. There was a rat in my room and was eating holes in my luggage. The TV's reception was poor and there were only 2 channels on it. Would have checked in at another place for sure, but accommodation in Bloem was fully booked due to the match between the Springboks and Wales. Had a nightmare night and found a hair in my plate the next morning at breakfast.
Henry's service and meals are superb.
Our host was very helpful. The room's facilities were good. The road to the lodge was bad.

We loved our stay at Emtonjeni! The hosts were friendly and very accommodating. The garden is beautiful and our dogs had a wonderful time too! Perfect for a stayover on the way to a further destination although I can imagine it will be a good weekend break-away from city life too.
We experienced a hail storm. The power was off at once but came back on during the night. We have no complaints.
Would love to come again on a drive through.

An absolute gem of a place - the most beautiful gardens, the decor was to die for, amazing antiques used.
Bedroom neglected. TV in no working order. Shower had 5 crickets in it. Can't sleep on pillows. Outside tables dirty. Food was good though.
We decided to stay here because we were moving, and it was like a halfway stop. But also for the reason, we move with animals. Henry immediately offered us a bigger room, at no extra cost. He is very friendly and nice to talk to. You walk in there and feel the tranquility and love. Breakfast had been delicious and all the animals were so calm, thinking it was their home. Thank you very much Henry.
