Would recommend Familia Guesthouse.
First of all, our one room that was booked for 2 people only had a towel, coffee and water for one person, thus we had to share one towel and only one person got coffee. In our other room, the towels were still damp when we got there. Another problem was that there was no water at the guesthouse during loadshedding, and we weren't even provided with a bucket of water to use for the toilet or to wash up. The water returns when the power comes back on, so I strongly feel that the management can fill buckets with water and leave one in each room for the guests during loadshedding. When we arrived the lady also did not tell us anything about the water issue, we just saw that there was nothing during loadshedding and then by chance saw that it came back after loadshedding. The battery light in one room was not plugged in when we got there, therefore it did not charge and could not be used when the power went off. Lastly, on the website, the rooms are advertised to have king-sized beds. When we arrived we saw that it is only queen-sized beds. This is obviously not a major problem, I just feel that you should get what is being advertised. With that being said, the guesthouse is beautiful and neat!
Familia is like an oasis in a desert, when you walk in you can't believe what is behind the high walls, garden incredibly beautiful, room 10 out of 10!
Was clean and tidy.
Elsabe was involved from the beginning of our booking to provide assistance. Her and her staff's quality of service delivery meets and certainly exceeds the 4-star rating the guest house has achieved. Rooms were clean and tidy. The staff is visible and helpful all the time. Breakfast was freshly made and very tasty. We will definitely come again and recommend it to everyone.
It was under staffed at breakfast. The aircon is a must in the rooms. The pool and surroundings should be kept clean.

Familia Guesthouse is a beautiful guest house, tastefully furnished with only the best in mind for guests. The room was an oasis on a sweltering day with air conditioning, comfortable bed and couch! We had a wonderful stay with Sandra as a very pleasant hostess!

I left a day early because, apart from the terrible noise and dust during the Saturday, there was no privacy and I felt unsafe with all the construction crews on site and the main gate having to be kept open. Management should rather not accept bookings for rooms that are directly affected by the construction and customers should be informed ahead of time about the building project and their planned working hours so that customers can make an informed decision. Personally, I think building over a weekend when you are hosting clients is unnecessary and a partial refund of my accommodation costs and the meals I paid for in advance would be appropriate.

They can make more effort to make sure the room's items (specifically towels) are correct / ready. The guest in kitchen was not connected, wanted to order an omelette as suggested is available. Other than that we were very happy, loved the staff.
We travel a lot and stay in many guest houses. If there were a Familia Guesthouse in every place we visited, we would stay there every time. Cecilia warmly welcomes you upon arrival. The rooms are stylish with all the necessary extras and a beautiful patio that overlooks the most beautiful garden under the trees. After a day of work, it's a great place to kick off your shoes and relax. The luxury of someone cleaning your shoes was a surprise. Breakfast was delicious. I asked for a dinner on very short notice, so we were surprised when we got a full, deliciously cooked meal. I can really recommend Familia. Regardless of your standard, you can be sure not be disappointed.
