Featherhouse is clean and tidy, centrally located and has everything you need. However, the large heavy wooden gate that you have to open and close by hand is not ideal.
Basic accommodation is sufficient for an overnight stay. Maybe a tea towel/wet cloth to clean. Can hear other guests.

At first, the outside of the place made me feel a bit uncomfortable, but when inside the premises, it was a peaceful environment. What was not fine was the unstable WiFi system.

Very comfortable stay, would have preferred a queen-sized bed and can suggest owners install an electric motor on the entrance gate as it is very heavy. Very friendly hostess — happy to recommend to others.
We had a pleasant stay. One had to fight the shower curtain. Water tended to go out the shower floor to the rest of the bathroom. Perhaps a glass partition would work better. Had to take load shedding into consideration.
What a beautiful, large and characterful place to stay. We were kindly received and the place was clean and we slept well. Our dog was also welcome. The room is very large so the owner can feel free to use the space and make it even more comfortable for the traveler. For example, there is not even one chair to sit on and even in the bathroom there is nothing to put your things on. But still I highly recommend the place.

Very quiet and close to places to eat.
Very clean and well laid out, would love a small table and chairs inside and also a few hooks to hook up jackets etc. Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom, no hooks for towels or chair/hooks for clothing. All very small inexpensive changes that would make this stopover absolutely perfect!
Got there after sunset. Room was neat. Everything they advertised was there.
The place looks like it was recently renovated so everything was new, neat and clean. Parking is safe as long as other residents keep the gate closed. Reception was friendly and they followed up several times to make sure someone would be able to receive me as I only got there late, they were very helpful.
Arrived down the potholed alleyway to the destination which did not impress. Positives were Wi-Fi, hot water and a clean and electric blanket. Not enough plugs, no kitchen sink to wash cutlery/crockery, and only one teaspoon. Bed is as hard as a mortuary slab, and the pillows are the same. Shower curtain is an irritation. Shower caddy does not work hanging on the tap as unbalanced. Shower floor is slippery. Have to fill the kettle at the basin in the bathroom which was a battle. Gate to the premises was not automated therefore inconvenient when coming and going.

Friendly welcome. Room very nice and newly redone. Location near good restaurants, walking distance. A lot of renovation is still being done, but what is finished is really neat and not neglected. Electric blankets on beds and lamps for load shedding.

We arrived at Colesberg late in the evening, but were kindly received and the place is tidy and your car is safe behind closed gates. For overnight it is 100% because everything you need is there. Will definitely stay there again when I drive down to the Cape.
