The guest farm offers 3 self-catering farm cottages, 2 farmhouse rooms and 10 private camping and caravan sites. We also have a mini-conference venue, a lapa area and a café.
All cottages and farmhouses come equipped with comfortable beds, a bathroom fitted with a shower and braai area. The cottages feature a fully equipped kitchen, lounge area, fireplace, fan, air conditioning, and a patio. Each cottage has its own private entrance.
The Caravan/Camp Sites all have their own braai areas with electricity and can make use of the ablutions blocks. Our sites do not have grass.
On-site facilities include laundry services, plunge pool small a shop and a café/restaurant. Guests are also welcome to enjoy the on-site activities which include bird watching and swimming.
Nearby activities/attractions include horse riding, bass fishing, wine tasting, mountain biking, fishing, bird watching, and cycling.

67 guests' feedbackThe place where we stayed was quite equipped, more rustic. The kitchen facilities are not adapted for 'load shedding'. There is no gas facility, just a traditional stove and an electric kettle, and a very small fridge. Prior knowledge of the fact that the guest house is far out of town would help, especially since one cannot go out to eat at all or quickly buy something nearby.
I enjoyed my stay very much. The Fynbos cafe serves lovely coffee and breakfast. For walkers and readers, this is a lovely place.

Very neat and private campsites. Friendly management. Neat and unique setup with all the animals. For light sleepers, if you only sleep in a tent the traffic noise from the main road is loud, disturbing throughout the night.

Place was very nicely decorated.
The farm is situated close to the main road, making it easy to access. The cottage was clean and contained everything I needed. I loved being on the farm surrounded by the sounds of both the farm animals and local birds. A wonderful place to relax and unwind.
Enjoyed the stay friendly enviroment with staff also had a lovely breakfast at the Farmhouse Stall and good interaction with the owner.

There is nothing I don't love about this place. The rescue animals the birdsong in the morning the walks from garden to native fynbos. I could also mention top-of-the-line olive oil!
Great long weekend camping with the family. Kids loved spending time with all the animals and Maurice and Peter were amazing hosts. Planning our next trip back.

We were looking for a quick stop over for a trip between George and Calvinia. This place was perfect and easy to access from the main road. Had everything we were hoping to get.

The "cottage's" old world feel and the beautiful surroundings, beautiful gardens plus all the animals made for a wonderful stay. The breakfast delivered on my husband's birthday was delicious. I can really recommend Fynbos Guest Farm.
I wish I'd gone for longer! The location is beautiful, the people are friendly and the animals are abundant and full of life. My kids loved that they could run around on their own and feed the goats, pet the horses and just be free!
Fynbos Guest Farm pleasantly surprised us. If you come out of the mountains dirt roads on a Motorcycle and you just want to rest, this is just the place to be. Friendly reception and hospitality make you feel right at home.

The camp is beautiful and the animals are great for children. The pool is very small, but the host brought us freshly baked bread for breakfast which was very nice.

Rooms are very small, poorly lit and dark. Water pressure is ridiculous. Unfortunately there are few pictures of the place that can give you a better idea of what it looks like. There is no access control, just a small gate that needs to be opened and closed. Anyone has access to the premises.

We had a wonderful time at Fynbos Guest Farm. The camp sites are perfect and private and the quietness is just what the soul needs. The walking trails are so much fun, especially the Labyrinth and the kids absolutely loved the farm animals. Running across logs, over water and skipping stones with my boys is the best time I have had in a very long time. This place really brings you to a standstill to just enjoy nature and your family. The views, the animals, the farm, the hospitality ... everything was just perfect. Thank you Peter for everything and being such an awesome host! We will be back.
Stay in Guinea Fowl Cottage was lovely. It is fully equipped for self-catering. The farm and surroundings are an experience. Would recommend it to everyone.
Plenty of animals to see, pretty view, well equipped cottage with a fireplace and dry wood. Peter was very helpful and hospitable. Close to Tulbagh. Safe.

Our groupie thoroughly enjoyed the Owl Cottage on Fynbos Guest Farm: on the farm there is a large collection of exotic animals and birds; various activities and a lovely swimming pool. The farm is located in an environment where any nature lover's heartstrings are tugged by intensive agricultural activities; breathtaking scenery and energetic outdoor activities. Our visit was definitely a looper for next time.
Beautiful surroundings with very neat and campsites that are quite private. The chalets also look very nice and comfortable from the outside. There is a lot to do on the farm, it is a little paradise. Highly recommended!

It's nice but very small so I wouldn't recommend it for more than one night's sleepover. The bathroom could be more user friendly. The steps to the shower are not very visible and the bathroom very small.

We had a wonderful and cosy time at Guinea Fowl cottage. It was fantastic waking up to animals all around us and being able to walk around the beautiful and creative farm. The owners are very friendly and made our stay wonderful. I have already recommended it to friends.
Such a pity we arrived so late. But the next morning we were so surprised and we really enjoyed the gardens and the far. Doesn't even feel like a working farm when you sit on cabin patio. Gardens are laid out and maintained with love and passion such a bliss to behold. The cabin is comfortable and very neat. Peter is one of the friendliest people we've ever met. You have to visit this place if you are in the area. Breathtaking.
Would definitely want to stay there for a few days, not just one night. Families with children will especially enjoy it here. Everything has been carefully selected and assembled.

Reception is very hospitable by Peter who gives you all of the information about the farm and animals in a nutshell. All of the animals are happy and looked after well. The house is very convenient and well-equipped with all of the necessities.

The unit is rundown, dining room furniture is rickety and the kettle is infested by algae. Very disappointing.
Fynbos Farm is in a beautiful setting. The accommodation is clean, neat and spacious. The staff was helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend it especially for families as the farm animals add another dimension.

We had a nice stay. The place was nice and clean. The breakfast was included but we did not receive it because we did not know that we had to arrange it in advance. It was good value for money except for that.
I could find my ideal of a break from the crazy city rush here. Even the one night's stormy wind and rain was transformed into a cozy warmth with the open fire that Peter came to light for me. His basket of breakfast food was full of surprises and delicious! The animals on his farm were yet another experience! Early in the morning I was greeted by his peacocks; geese, as well as his friendly, well-trained dogs. Peter takes care of discarded animals, as well as horses, spring goats and llamas, etc., that were in danger of being shot or slaughtered. The surrounding mountains and scenery are impressive and beautiful. This farm is a real escape for anyone who is just looking for peace and quiet for his soul.
It was very dry, but the cottage was well looked after and we lacked nothing.
The animals were an unexpected extra. Campsites are nice and private and incredibly tidy. Toilet facilities are neater than you will find in some hotels.

I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the farm! The room we slept in was beautifully decorated and everything we needed was available. A delicious breakfast was also included in the reasonable rate if you stay in the B&B rooms. Peter and Maurice are extremely friendly, accommodating and humble and do a fantastic job with all the animals they rescue. We will be going back again soon!

It is asked that guests please respect the animals on the farm.

The guest farm offers 3 self-catering farm cottages, 2 farmhouse rooms and 10 private camping and caravan sites. We also have a mini-conference venue, a lapa area and a café.
All cottages and farmhouses come equipped with comfortable beds, a bathroom fitted with a shower and braai area. The cottages feature a fully equipped kitchen, lounge area, fireplace, fan, air conditioning, and a patio. Each cottage has its own private entrance.
The Caravan/Camp Sites all have their own braai areas with electricity and can make use of the ablutions blocks. Our sites do not have grass.
On-site facilities include laundry services, plunge pool small a shop and a café/restaurant. Guests are also welcome to enjoy the on-site activities which include bird watching and swimming.
