Oh, I loved it. It was beautiful.
We stayed two nights at Galagos Lodge Guest House as part of our 'Anniversary Weekend'. I had arranged to have flowers delivered and these had been placed in the room along with rose petals on the bed and in the bathroom - a nice touch. Galagos Lodge Guest House has rooms in the house and 5 luxury rooms in a 'hotel' block, with a conference room on the ground floor and a sun/viewing deck above. Our room in the block was spacious with a nice view of the Hartbeespoort Dam. Even with the comfortable king-size bed and two large armchairs, the room is not cramped at all. The en-suite bathroom is also huge with a shower and a bath, and plenty of room for two people to move around. The deck above the rooms is covered (by solar panels) but is furnished with couches, coffee tables, and a couple of sun-loungers, making a pleasant venue for relaxing. The view of the dam from the deck is expansive. The swimming pool is also only a few steps away from the deck. Breakfast is served in the large dining room with an à la carte menu, and the food and service were excellent. There are plenty of attractions nearby, including shops and excellent restaurants - we can recommend the Belize at the Caribbean Beach Club just 5 minutes away. Overall, Galagos Lodge Guest House promises a very pleasant stay, both for vacations and for a mini-conference.

Accommodation was very neat and beautiful. Restaurant was friendly and had excellent service and food. Great host who made an effort to suggest places.
Serious attention should be paid to general maintenance. Room windows dirty (can be cleaned on regular basis), Sliding door slot is dusty and full of bugs. Ceiling fan light out of order, one bedside lamp out of order and lamp shade loose. Sink's silicon is moldy. These are small things that driver will pick up with regular inspection. The spa area is also not at all like in the photos. Wall shell from water damage. Massage - no complimentary drink and facial - no "steam session". Jacuzzi next to spa was out of order and area looked untidy. We did have a good time and didn't need to find fault there, so didn't record it in the guestbook. WiFi was unreliable and slow.
We felt very comfortable. The service and owner were friendly and helpful. The room was neat and beautiful. We were spoiled with a delicious breakfast every morning. Will definitely visit there again.

No hot water, little lighting, power plugs impractical and parking scarce. Also hard to find. Not well maintained.

Beautiful rooms, beautiful view, and friendly and helpful staff.
The room wasn't very clean and the carpet in the lounge area of the room was quite dirty too. When we went to bed that evening, our pillows smelled like it was slept on previously without being changed. We used some towels to cover them for the night and didn't get under the covers as a precaution. It was already too late in the evening and we were quite tired after travelling, so didn't bother to have the bed turned.
Hot tub was very dirty after the water jets were turned on. Brown stains everywhere in the bath.
It was very quiet and beautiful and very friendly people.
The view is so beautiful, the staff is very friendly, the environment is so clean and refreshing, and closer to most activities we came for. I really enjoyed my stay.

Shower room, let it be the one with closed door and closed room at all sides. Else shower floods out to the entire bathroom. Galagos should have external jacuzzi for general public otherwise the photos are misleading. Breakfast not so good. Hotspot Wi-Fi was not working. Swim pool is too deep and not user-friendly to kids and some of us.

The room obviously needs some attention. The curtains are off the rail. The windows are incredibly dirty. We could not use the bath, as the water was leaking. There were also an incredible number of pedestrians from the informal neighborhood staring through your window with the result that your curtains have to be drawn 24/7. More can be done regarding the parking lot which makes parking almost impossible.

No information provided about dinner, which was offered to others. 2 days without lights, plugs worked because the switch tripped. 2 days without hot water, geyser wouldn't work. Cushion on patio was soaking wet, couldn't even use it. Hot tub whose jets didn't work and was so hot no one could get in. No champagne on arrival, no flowers in room, no welcome drinks.

Our room was spacious and clean with a nice view of the pond. However, feel that our stay was not value for money. There were problems with water pressure, shower drain was clogged and the tub has a repair mark. Furthermore, the breakfast was very basic. Some of the items on the menu were not available. Suggest that price is either reduced or necessary improvements are made.
The room we booked was not the same as advertised. The drain in the bathroom smelled bad. We didn't have hot water last morning. However, owners made an effort to try and sort out the room problem by offering a spa gift card, or perhaps putting difference on meals, but that didn't fit into our planning.
The hot water was cold and could not watch the news channels in the morning as the DStv subscription blocked.
At this price you don't expect loose taps in your bath, water pressure so weak you can't even get a hot bath tapped and this after you had to inquire about no hot water in the room. What should have been a very special anniversary unfortunately did not turn out that way.

Was delicious. Understandably, with COVID things are difficult for business. Would only suggest some renovation with the woodwork such as the stairs. The upper area visitors look at your privacy which made it uncomfortable. Person above followed conversations and commented. Joshua made the stay very pleasant for us.

The owners and staff go out of their way to accommodate any need.
We booked the Diamond Suite for 2 nights for our wedding anniversary. Although the private Jacuzzi is lovely and the staff who helped us with breakfast were very friendly it doesn't make up for the rest. We paid extra for a romantic turndown, there were lots of candles but no matches. A Nespresso machine, which is listed in the description of the suite, but with only one coffee capsule, which was not replaced the next day and all the cups were dirty on our arrival. There are battery lights hung around the Jacuzzi, but no battery in it. The toilet and sink were leaking and the shower had no hot water. We reported it on Saturday morning, but only when we checked out at 10 o'clock on Sunday were we told askies We could not get parts, no other follow up. The bathroom also did not have a trash can or air freshener. There is no place in the room to hang clothes. There was a lovely veranda with sun loungers, but the cushions were unusably dirty. We booked spa treatments at their Frangipanie Spa. The staff were very friendly, but the facilities cannot be called a spa. It was a cramped room, there was no place to put your clothes, the floor had to do. The products were everywhere on the windowsills unpacked and on one was a bowl full of foot scrubbers and files. Not at all hygienic. Not a four star experience for sure.

Would have liked it if there were provisions in the bar fridge. However, the fridge only has water and a bottle of milk for coffee. Coffee table needs attention. Has had water damage several times and is tearing down the unit. Rooms are elegantly decorated and one enjoys a nice view of the dam. Fortunately, the wind was right and the hyacinths did not obstruct our view of the pond. Think it can be quite disappointing not being able to see the pond. Had a great sleep. Apart from the above, it is a nice place to spend the night.

Has everything you could possibly need. John is of course the star there. Only problem was the noise and big party at the dam which continued until 06:00 the next morning. However, that was the only disappointment. But the complex is not to blame.
We really enjoyed our stay. The hosts were friendly and forthcoming. Guest house is modern and well maintained, the staff is very friendly. Breakfast nothing special, but filling. The area is beautiful and safe, good view of the dam.

Our stay at Galagos was good, but I feel for so called ‘luxury accommodation’ they can improve a little bit. I don’t think 2 single beds pushed together (ie 2 mattresses) counts as a king size bed. May be the size is there, but not the comfort. In the shower a rack will be great to put your soap, shampoo etc. on, so you don’t have to put in on the floor. Breakfast was pretty standard.
We had a lovely stay and a beautiful view over the dam. The breakfast was nice. I only think that the accommodation is expensive.

Lovely accommodation, although the rooms could do with a little more finesse (something to make one feel welcome). Although the accommodation is in a secure area, the parking is on the street.
It is wonderful holiday destination. The reception and continuous attention by the staff member is great. The atmosphere and the altitude is great. The view of the Hartbeespoort dam from the room is a unique sight. It is really refreshing to spend some time at the resort away from the busy town activities. I would not doubt to visit the place again. The picnic spot, Kommando Peak, also needs to be mentioned.

It is a neat guesthouse, but you struggle to reach them on the phone. They make promises that they can't keep. The front door of my room was broken. The towel rail in the bathroom was broken. They ask R500 for dinner for 2 people without anything special to offer. If it wasn't for their helper John, I don't know.

The room we were in needs some attention. Toilet holder is not there. Shower does not drain. Stand in a puddle of water long after you take a shower. Small things need to be fixed. Otherwise it is very beautiful and excellently located.

Maintainence is not up to standard. Nails keeping the carpet in position protrudes and makes it impossible to walk barefoot. Three of the 6 bulbs didn't work. The sliding door on the eastern side is rigid. The shower leaks when the doors are closed - sliding danger. The dinner is expensive and this doesn't reflect in the quality of the food and the service.
We were received very kindly and help was offered to carry our luggage. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful and with the most beautiful view over the dam, it made for a very invigorating stay. The breakfast was complete and very tasty. The room is spacious with everything needed. However, we could not watch certain channels on TV, such as KykNet. There was also no WiFi, but the owner explained that this was due to repeated cable theft and they were currently considering other options.
Two things could be improved: we didn't have hot water in the evening (not until the next morning). And we struggled to communicate with the person who helped us (he may have been new). Other than that it was a very nice experience.
Everything was really very beautiful and beautiful. Slept well in the big bed. Sorry there was no hairdryer in the room and had to ask for one. Dinner breaks the place down a bit. Food is not "wow" for the price. Better leave it out completely or go all out. The waiters are very friendly but unfortunately they don't really understand English.
We were welcomed with such warmth while professionalism was still maintained. There is a gentleman by the name of John, I think he is the manager, wow! What a humble person. He was extremely helpful, with a lot of respect. He understands the meaning of customer satisfaction not only dwelling on customer service. We enjoyed our massage session done by Yolandi and Susan. Dinner was delicious, even though I was aching for home-made custard. My request is that they should buy new beds. The one we slept in was old. I ended up sleeping on a couch because it was uncomfortable. Other than that, we are happy and would like to go again as soon as they get new beds.
We only stayed one night at Gallagos, but we found it very pleasant. The rooms are clean and tidy. We got our value for money. Would definitely recommend to other travelers.
We have noticed that the lodge is not wheelchair friendly and we suggest that it should be advertised as such. On returning from breakfast, the cleaners were already in our room while we only had to vacate by 10:00. Our valuables were not with us and could have gone missing. It shouldn't be like that. The food and reception were good and the stay was very pleasant.

There are an awful lot of style stairs and for the elderly it is really a problem. The reception is on the third level and hard to find. The breakfast was acceptable, but for the price it could have been better. The bedroom was good and comfortable with enough accessories.

Unfortunately there was construction going on during our stay and the grandchildren were disappointed that they could not use the hot pool. However, the good and friendly service made up for it.
A very pleasant guest house to visit, but there are some negative points: torn towels, no air freshener, and street parking. The management could do with some training.
