Very pleasant and clean.
Sufficient for one night's sleep. Don't expect too much for the price. At least there is aircon and everything one needs.
The house is old, and the wiring, kitchen and bathroom facilities are not up to standard.
Place was clean and tidy. Vehicle could be locked behind a gate and place is located in a very quiet area.
This area is the ideal stopover on the long road to the Cape coast. The stay was pleasant and the air conditioner in the bedroom is a winner.
Our stay at Gompou Straat 7 was great. The place is safe, quiet, with abundant parking space. We really enjoyed staying there.
Excellent price for overnight trip and centrally located. We stopped over on our way to East London from Gauteng and the facilities were perfect. Will definitely consider again for future vacation plans!

The venue had been closed up when we arrived, resulting in stuffiness, aggravated by the hot weather at the time. A few of the lights didn't work, and only one fan worked. No provision was made for load shedding. We appreciated the fully equipped kitchen.
Again, everything was clean and tidy. For an overnight stay, you won't easily find better value for money.
I would definitely recommend the apartment for 2 to overnight travelers. You simply won't get better value for money.

We were met by the owner who was very friendly. There was coffee and tea available for us. The place was neat and clean. Will stay there again.

We decided a day or so ahead of time to go to Gariepdam, made an inquiry and got an answer in less than half an hour. When we got there, Louis was there within a few minutes, and made us feel welcome. The house is comfortable, spacious with everything one needs. We will definitely book here again in the future.

Air conditioner in the room was a winner as it was bitterly cold. Unfortunately had to exchange the air conditioner's flat remote control batteries with the TV's. Security light in front of the door I think has also reached the end of its life. Not much provision is made for internal lighting during load shedding.

Gompou Street 7 dates from the 1970s. It is close to the Gariep Dam and shops. The rooms and living area are clean and tidy, but the kitchen needs immediate attention. Place sleeps 7 people, but the kitchen does not provide for 7 people. Glasses for example, are only 4 water glasses, no wine glasses and one teacup. Every knife and fork is different and everything in the kitchen including the stove had to be washed first to say goodbye to the previous guests.
Not owner's fault.

Kitchen table and utensils not properly cleaned. Bathroom was very smelly (suspect it was the shower curtain smelling of old sweat) and very unpleasant to use. Loadshedding provision is basically 0. We had to search for anything and found 2 candles of which one was not usable due to being bent, but the box of matches then proved to be empty. The house at night is very noisy and negatively impacted our sleep during the night.

It was confusing from the start. There is no sign that proudly announces that you are now at no. 7 Gompou street is not. I had to call the neighboring guest house who was able to give me Aunt Bets' number. The converted garage did have air conditioning (thank goodness for that) but was not very neatly furnished. Electrical cables lay bundled up to supply power to TVs and other devices. The sinks and toilets are old and stained and the front door lock has seen better days and doesn't seem very sturdy. I definitely cannot recommend the overnight accommodation.
We stayed one night to break up our travels. The house is large, old fashioned and comfortable. It had everything we needed, the only thing we missed was a coffee plunger / French press. There is secure off street parking. I would use this house again.

Despite a power outage, aunt Bets made an effort to give battery lights as well as a gas bottle. Would recommend a small generator for such times. Furthermore, the stay was peaceful and we could rest after a long day on the road in a neat and clean house.

Thank you very much Bets. Our stay was pleasant. Everything clean and tidy and comfortable. The restaurant "Tjailatyd"'s food was delicious. We were able to strengthen our inner selves and had a wonderful night's rest. Will recommend you guys.
Kitchen and shower need upgrading.
House generally clean and neat. Although the bedding was clean, it's time to change them. The curtains also need attention. Not fans in all the rooms. Though there were tea, coffee and sugar, there was no milk of milk powder to enjoy it. For a short overnight stay it's okay, but wouldn't stay there for longer than that. The directions to the address is not clear, and the address is not clearly marked. I would also suggest they place a list of restaurants in the area in the house.
