The vineyards produce Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Mourvèdre, and Malbec. While the majority of Barton wine is exported to the UK, a small quantity is retained for sale in South Africa and is available in restaurants in the locality and from the tasting room.
Barton’s olive groves nestle on the Kogelberg mountain range overlooking Walker Bay. The olives are hand-picked at optimal ripeness and cold-pressed on the day of harvest to give a top-quality olive oil with low acidity. Barton’s olive oil is a blend of Frantoia, Lechino, Coratina, and Mission olives producing oil with an aroma of freshly cut grass, a fruity flavor in the mouth with a hint of pepper which continues to the aftertaste.
Barton honey is derived from beehives sited amongst the fynbos of the Kogelberg Eco Park and adjacent to Barton’s lavender fields. The aroma and taste reflect the habitat of the bees.
