We had a very nice stay. Owners friendly and helpful.
The apartment was perfect for us - the most beautiful mountain view from the veranda, beautiful garden and a lovely fireplace for the cold evenings. Furthermore, it has everything one could possibly need and we could easily walk to explore the village of Clarens. We would love to come again!

Lovely apartment on a large property filled with fruit trees and vegetable gardens. The apartment is well-equipped and spacious. It is a little on the older side, which makes it very reasonably priced for the area. Location is great, within walking distance of the town square and conservancy. Lots of space for my dogs to explore.

Had a friendly reception by owners. They also helped us with more information about walking routes. We slept nice and warm in the cold evenings, the owners also made sure that we had everything to sleep warm. It was really nice to stay, will book here again in the future.
Wonderful stay with friendly hosts. Lovely warm fireplace, feather and warm blankets. Central and close to all shops and restaurants. Perfect for couples or even a family or small group of friends.

Our first visit to Clarens was an indescribable experience. It's a fairytale beautiful town, surrounded by mountains. The owners, Dons and Anneke, welcomed us as if we had known each other for years. The rondavel is neat and clean. It's just big enough for 2 people. There was sufficient WiFi and a lovely hot electric blanket. Als in the kitchen was sufficient. The rondavel is well located and walking distance from the centre of town. Nice peaceful atmosphere and good view. Thank you very much, Dons and Anneke, for allowing us to be part of your wonderful town and place. Will definitely come back again.

Very comfy bedrooms but difficult with 1 bathroom and 2 doors. Caused some discomfort. Would recommend a UPS for the Wi-Fi.

All the basics were in the rondavel. No TV, no problem with that. There was Wi-Fi. Friendly owner and the place overlooks the most beautiful scenery. Price is affordable and definitely worth it if you actually just want to spend the night there. Definitely recommended.
Basic self catering accomodation, not the ritz , but was comfortable and suited our needs , hosts/owners were plesant, helpful and accomodating ,perhaps could invest in a basic 1 or 2 plate gas hob if load shedding continues ,as an option.

Anneke and Dons are kind people who helped me in times of need. The rondavel is perfect for 1 or 2 people. What a privilege to wake up to such beautiful scenery every morning.

The rondavel provided us with everything we needed during the week we were there! Even though there were level 4 power outages during our stay, Dons and his wife made sure there were lights with battery "backup", this made sure we could still read or shower etc. During these interruptions, we will definitely be able to recommend them!

The beautiful garden with all its spring blossoms made us want a garden breakfast, after a good night's rest in the neat rondavel we were ready for the road again. Will definitely go again.
We had a wonderful stay. The fireplace and the electric blankets were a definite must. The place is not luxurious, but is very well equipped and good value for money. We would definitely recommend it. The dirt road does need some attention. Herberg-Klein creates a good home away from home, even the rooster that announced the day every morning. Electric blankets on bed and heater were very nice as it was very cold. Owners very friendly. The microwave was very old and did not work. I told owner and he will look into it. Kitchen not very well equipped, could improve a bit.
Quiet and well equipped.
The place is beautiful and has a beautiful view of the mountains. We stayed in the winter but slept nice and warm. The kitchen is also nicely equipped with everything one might find necessary.
On arrival it was found that the unit was not very clean. Unity smelled stuffy. There is no parking for vehicles. Nowhere on the website is there any mention of the bad dirt road that has to be driven. Wandering people peered through the unit's window. So there was no security.

Herberg-Klein is within walking distance of the main street. It is comfortable for 4 people with a drive-in gate that can lock for car safety. Perfect for a long weekend.
We had a really nice stay. The fireplace and view was the most beautiful TV. The children had fun playing outside and loved smelling all the flowers. In the evenings mum and dad could sit in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine and just relax. Perfect for a weekend away, everything you need there.

We had a great stay and everything we needed was there. Dons was hospitable and very helpful. Herberg-Klein is a lovely walk close to everything in Clarens. Dons gave us a great map of the Clarens Conservancy Trails and Walks. There are lovely and beautiful walking routes around Clarens. We easily walked from our accommodation to see the beautiful nature around Clarens. Our nine year old daughter also enjoyed the walking trails. We will book with Herberg-Klein again and recommend it to others. Thanks Dons!
