Beautiful farm, with lovely accommodation.
No, not at all. The road to the accommodation was longer than stated, and it was not suitable for my vehicle.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very relaxed. Good walking to be had as well as beautiful horses to interact with. Hosts were great and relaxed. Thank you for allowing us to have so much freedom on your farm.
Great relaxing visit. Restful. Beautiful surroundings. Wonderful hospitality. We even received freshly baked scones, with delicious jam and whipped cream from our hosts on Sunday afternoon (it was foggy and just the perfect way to end the visit). Our host even offered that we could come and watch the Springbok games at their house. If you want to get away from everything and everyone, this is definitely the place to visit.

Most relaxing setting. The cottage was well set up, with everything that u needed. Spectacular views, and beautiful animals. The host was also amazing, gave us lots of privacy. Most ideal, we loved every minute of it. Even our Dog had run out of place. A must-see.

Inconvenient. Bathroom outside the room. Bed is upside down. Kitchen is dirty with no dinner plates. Kitchen door must be opened with great difficulty.
Hosts were so helpful. We arrived in Mooi River in heavy downpours and we were met in town to tow our trailer onto the farm for us in the mud and stormy weather. Due to the unprecedented rains the roads were slippery and we damaged a tyre and Michael, Jacqui and Max quickly towed us out, changed our tyre and settled us into our accommodation. Beautifully appointed and lovely views. The family getaway cottage was a great place to spend time. We canoed on the dam and enjoyed the beautiful albeit muddy walks. Our dogs were made welcome and they had an absolute blast. Mike had our tyre repaired in town for us. They went out of their way to help us.
We had a nice stay, clean and tidy unit. There was wood for the fireplace which was handy as it was cold and wet. Private yard for our dogs who traveled together. Hostess informed us that roads are poor due to a lot of rain. No cell phone reception. Unit is well furnished but maybe just a suggestion to remove some of the trinkets in the unit. There are e.g. a box in the bathroom to put toilet paper but it's covered with all kinds of decorations. There is a table by the front door and living room but it is also packed. The hostess makes a lot of effort to make the place beautiful, we appreciate it but maybe with a little less stuff that is not useful. Other than that, accommodation was good.
Rustic, quirky decor. Warm welcome from owner. We stayed at The Fisherman's Cottage. Inclement weather required my nephew (to his delight) to fetch us for celebrations at the big house in his dad's bakkie. Best if one has a 4-by-4. Just an observation: The door to the bathroom was sticky and did not close totally for privacy. Easily fixed. Signage to each cottage could be clearer.
This was a very bad experience for us, we had to find alternate accommodation, which we did, that was 100% better than Highover at an additional cost.

Great stay for winter days, fireplace to keep the family warm and cosy.
The facilities are basic, informal and very comfortable with all the necessary.
So much more than expected. The host went the extra mile to make our stay welcome. Will certainly visit again.
Jacqui is a great host, and the farm is beautiful.
Highover Farm is just far enough from civilization to feel far away from everything that bothers you, the views are fantastic, the silence peaceful and our dog enjoyed the farm more than we did and that says a lot.
