There are 4 Apartments for guests to choose from; Jono, Cara, Garden and Family. Both the Jono and Cara apartments are on the first floor, sleeping 2 guests each. The Garden apartment on the ground floor can accommodate up to 4 guests and the Family apartment on the first floor can accommodate up to 6 guests, on prior arrangement. The units have private bathrooms with showers only as well as lounge areas and kitchenettes ideal for self-catering.
Apartment JONO (unit1) & Apartment CARA (2) has a communal uncovered BBQ area and street side parking on the Drive Way.

Interesting venue, had to phone owner to open up as reception was locked when we arrived despite giving ETA. Shower needs upkeep as entire bathroom gets flooded. Else, very sufficient stay and centrally located.
Unfortunately the 2nd bathroom had no hot water at all. Owner's tel. no. doesn't work WiFi also not correct password.
There is a chimney further down where you can see smoke coming out. We had to keep windows closed at all times. Secondly, it was pouring rain when we arrived and the receptionist was very friendly and accommodating however, there is not even a little roof over the reception area's door, and she and we got soaked. We were in Unit 1 and this is probably just us, but the paintings and sculptures at the entrance and up the stairs made us feel very uneasy.
Great place lovley hosts will come back anytime and highly recommend!

Hornbill House is close to everything, yet tucked away for the tranquility. Will definitely use this accommodation option again and recommend it to future travellers.
We had a comfortable and cosy stay at Hornbill House. The only issue we had was the bathroom. The shower should be contained to its own space as after a shower everything is wet and unpleasant. There was a lot of noise from the opposite nursery with cars and vans up and down but I guess that is out of Hornbill's hands.
Very nice stay and would recommend it.
We will stay there again, but will be happy if attention is paid to the quality of the bed that is very hard.

Fantastic getaway for family!
Marelize went out of her way to receive us and make us feel welcome, place was clean and tidy and with the unexpected cold we were grateful for the warm undersheets. Don't expect a bottle of red wine on sale as a gift and it's really a nice and intimate place, walking distance from what matters. Environment was safe, peaceful and very quiet. Good sleep choice for sure.

The area and place is very nice and tidy. Just wanted to know in advance that the place is bitterly cold. We were told 2 days before our arrival that we should use the gas in the heater sparingly, because it was out of stock. If the owners plan better, something like this will not happen in the future. There were also only 2 glasses to use and all the cutting knives were incredibly blunt. Tea, coffee and sugar were provided, but no milk.

We were pleasantly surprised by the lovely surroundings and really enjoyed the artwork. We could have stayed there much longer if we had time because of the proximity to Hermanus and Onrus, as well as Kleinmond.
