He also agreed to adjust our booking days due to an unforeseen medical emergency. Recently refitted, the layout of the large living area and kitchenette was optimal for ease and relaxation during our stay. The place was neat, clean and modern, with a comfortable double bed. An indoor fireplace and wall heater assist in keeping the place warm on a chilly day. The generous complimentary provisions of milk, tea, coffee and chocolates made us feel extremely welcome.

Due to the cost and reviews we were excited for the 'luxury' self catering during 'remote' work, but this is a basic tiled sliding door garden apartment that needs a deep clean and structural attention. Cons: Tile 'grout' broken in places. Leaking bathroom faucets and crooked kitchen faucet. Sofa bed and living sofa need a deep clean. Lots of mosquitoes; next to a swimming pool. Not dirty, but at night there are quite a few household insects. Wifi does not pick up in the bedroom. Smooth stairs with small grips; dangerous for slipping in rainy weather. Pros: Good white linen and towels. Located behind the house but feels private. Large, comfortable lounge sofa/TV. Large bedroom mosquito net. With a car, fairly central in a quiet neighborhood, but for nicer walking areas choose Camphersdrift and for nicer living in basic accommodation, choose surrounding beach towns instead. Cute detail such as welcoming biscuits, chocolates, 20l water. Full kitchen facilities with a free-standing 2-plate gas stove for loadshedding.
Accommodation meets all the requirements in this price range. Braai area is a very big bonus.

I would suggest the owner spends a night in his own bed, the mattress is terribly uncomfortable. The shower needs a decent cleaning, grout is discolored and shower corners dirty. Otherwise, the rest of the place is clean and tidy and comfortable.
Some problems. Advertisement shows that Netflix is available but it was not, toilet and shower very small but neat, stairs in cottage very slippery when it rains although provision was made with a sliding strip on stairs. However, I appreciate the friendly atmosphere and help that was offered if needed.

The host Basson is very friendly and helpful. The unit is well equipped, secluded, peaceful and spacious. The fire place in Jasmyn works well and makes the evenings enjoyable and is a definite plus. Some minor maintenance is however required; loose basin taps, shower door not closing and loose electric wall socket outlet.
