Spacious, cute old fashioned furniture but the house is not fresh and cared for. The kitchen and bathroom are not up to standard. The boiler is badly damaged, the sink is dirty, and the house smells a bit musty.
The booking was trouble-free, and the facility itself met our expectations. The host was very friendly.

Personally, I think there is much better value for money in the area. The host was very friendly and helpful, as is typical in the countryside. The shower water was only on the thin side and a plan really needs to be made for cooling.
We visited a relative in a nursing home in Strydenburg, felt at home in J&W Guest House.
Was very kindly received, everything we needed was there and more. Coffee, milk etc. very spacious and homely. Will stay there again for sure.
Kind people with a caring heart. Very neat and warm styled with awesome furniture. I was very pleased with the cleanliness.
We appreciate that the owner waited for us until 21:00, as we could not be there earlier. It was quite hot at night. After opening the windows in the master bedroom and hallway a little, there was a slight draft. The second bedroom was unfortunately very hot. There are no windows to open. The extra fan was used which then brought relief. Air conditioners would be an asset though.
The hospitable atmosphere of a quiet little town was pleasant.
Comfortable overnight facility that is better equipped than the average place. Very spacious rooms.
The arrival was initially a shock. The surroundings are very poor and one does not expect a guest house there. But after the owner told us to drive around to the back, we got a pleasant surprise. Well maintained garden, very neat and clean. Accommodation facilities completely adequate.
We were received extremely hospitably and immediately felt welcome. The old-world charm of our place of residence charmed us as soon as we stepped inside. Furthermore, there was everything we could need in the spacious house, which consists of a kitchen, living room and two bedrooms. We had a wonderful stay and were even kindly seen off before 6 o'clock the next morning. J&W guest house will definitely see us again!

The N12 Truck Stop provides meals but closes at 6pm. The one cafe in Strydenburg where we stopped closes at 22:00 and is called big to meet a guy's needs. J&W Guest House also has frozen pies for sale.
The place is spacious and clean and offers all amenities. John provided us with firewood and the necessities to braai, as we requested. The accommodation offered the two rooms that we wanted, but it was not made clear that, from the second bedroom, one has to walk through the first bedroom to get to the bathroom. When two of us wanted to shower at around 20h00, the shower water was only lukewarm. The guest house is on the main road of Strydenburg and vehicles passing through at speed disturbed us a few times.
Nice and quiet, old Cape residence. Clean and friendly service. Thank you very much for allowing us to stay there.
Lovely peaceful stay, very friendly and helpful host. Ideal stay place for when you want to spend the night or want to visit family in the area.
