Cozy Cottages is very nice accommodation and I can highly recommend it. Very good air conditioners made a steamy hot night sleepable. And my favorite: ice in the fridge freezer when I opened it! On a side note: on the way back from Namibia we were in a pinch with a personal challenge. We didn't sleep here again, but I called for help out of desperation because she was the only person I knew here. She went out of her way to help us. Many, many thanks - it gives one hope that there are still benevolent people like you!
It was nice and quiet - great breakaway place from the world - Vodacom signal a bit bad - but I preferred it that way hahaha. Work couldn't bother me. We came for a funeral - but will definitely come again this time for a break away from the world. The caretaker was nice and helpful as well.

The cottage was indeed very cosy, well-kept and clean. All the necessary amenities were available. Both the manager, Philipp, and the landlady, Michell, who I unfortunately didn't get to see myself but with whom I was in regular contact, were extremely nice and helpful. My wife and I forgot to take our mobile phone chargers with us when we left and Michell selflessly did everything she could to get us back into the property. A perfect hostess and a great, cosy stopover on the way north.
For your information, I'd like to suggest the following: 'Feel' and smell when entering the cottage: Smoke! Although there is a sign stating 'No Smoking'. Tip: open windows 2 hours before guests arrive. The load shedding is not your fault, but it isn't very comfortable to have no water if there is no electricity. Tip: put the tank higher, for natural pressure. Being in a remote dry area, saving water is of the essence. So I kept the water we used to wash veggies etc. in a bucket. When we came back, someone was 'cleaning' the cottage although we only slept and did our own dishes. Self-catering implies (to me) that stuff is cleaned when I leave. I leave my lodging clean enough to only mop and the cottage is ready (after refreshing linen too). Tip: ask guests if they want a housekeeper to go through stuff when away. The WiFi doesn't work. Very occasionally it does, but cuts off soon. Tip: don't mention WiFi available, because it doesn't work even if there is no load shedding. 'A cottage' does imply you're alone in your cottage. We were woken up more than once by noisy neighbours coming in, and leaving at 05:00, taking showers. Plus we are on the sunny side of the house with no own veranda/shade/chairs. Tip: mention it's a shared cottage. We borrowed 2 chairs to sit in the shade from the other side of the cottage to sit under the tree in the shade and saw food being delivered to the other side of the house. Where did that come from? Is it possible to order somewhere? No leaflet on our side of the house. Consequently, we're rating the 'cottage' 2/5 compared with other places we stayed this year and last year. Being remote is no excuse for the above. We feel we paid too much.
One night stay. Place very clean and neat. The room that was prepared for us had the air-conditioning not working. Fortunately, the spare room had a working unit, so we moved there. Besides that, everything else was well organised from the booking till our departure.

Extremely peaceful and cozy atmosphere. Phillip provides friendly and excellent service. He is very helpful. Definitely go eat at the Kliphuis Kombuis. This is a must.
We stayed over on our way back from Namibia. During loadshedding there is no water, which they make provision for and the wifi is also down. We had rechargeable lights and a gas stove for coffee and cooking. We slept very comfortably in the twin room - nice beds! Unfortunately, we had forward guests who rocked up, opened the gate and drove to the front of the house to see inside and ask us what it's like to stay there and how they can go about booking it (there is a phone number on the front of the house). Regardless, we enjoyed our stay. Hats off to the guys working tirelessly to ensure everything is kept clean and neat.
House was well equipped and we really appreciated the big space and indoor braai because we could enjoy the stay even with very cold weather during the weekend of 9 to 11 September 2023. Philip's service was excellent.

This was the second time my spouse and I stayed here - this time two nights in the Lukas Family Home. We didn't meet Michell, but after checking in by phone, Phillip was there within minutes to welcome us and unlock us. The cottage is spacious and comfortable, with everything needed. Everything very neat and clean. The free WiFi was a pleasant surprise, but unfortunately, probably due to the phase 5 load shedding, the internet connection was down on the second day after the power came back on. The modern bathroom needed minor maintenance, but Michell let it be known that it would receive attention.
Water and power was a problem that everyone should take note of. We were prepared with a converter.
No complaints about anything at all! Everything was as advertised, comfy, spacious and well-equipped. We would definitely stay there again.

We were unfortunate with the load shedding as after the allotted time the electricity came on and off 8 times in the following hour or so which meant a very disruptive evening. Perhaps an inverter should be considered for these eventualities which will undoubtedly continue.

We had a wonderful stay in the unit allocated to us, thank you very much. Michelle treated us great and it was a great pleasure to share with her. From here we could go in all wind directions to look at flowers. Phillip, our "caretaker", was very friendly and considerate and provided us with the necessary information regarding load shedding etc. The place is well equipped with everything needed to make the stay a great pleasure. We really enjoyed our stay, and have decided this will be our standard stop if we're going from Cape Town to Namibia. Weston was really helpful, the cottages were all lovely, and we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back! One thing to note is that when it's loadshedding the cell towers, Wi-Fi, and water pumps go down. So if you're travelling during loadshedding make sure you have everything you need with you.
Clean and tidy. We got a different cottage than we booked, but it was bigger and had no extra costs.
Dirty bedding in 2nd bedroom. New towels can be purchased - foul smell. New decor and furniture needed. But otherwise it was good.

Our cottage at Kamieskroon was delightful with its well decorated home, lovely indoor fireplace, good service despite load shedding and all we needed for a very pleasant stay in an area with beautiful rock formations and a peaceful environment.
Me, my wife and our two children aged 6 and 8 respectively had a really lovely stay at Cozy Cottages on our way to the Richtersveld National Park where we camped for a week. On the way back we stayed at Cozy Cottages again and our children had a great time playing with the owners' children until late. All wonderful, friendly people who have now also become our friends. Once again we had a great night there and next year we will spend the night there again on the way to Namibia and again on the way back. We can highly recommend Cozy Cottages!
It is a wonderful place among the mountains. Almost missed the local shop for milk and basics. I.e. some milk in the fridge and good coffee would have made our stay perfect.
Quick stop overnight. Hands on owners who messaged and kept us informed and valued. Welcomed and shown around by friendly groundskeeper. Will in future use the cottages again for longer stay also.

The accommodation is spacious and very well furnished. The facilities are modern, in contrast to some of the surrounding residences. The tranquility of the surroundings is a big bonus for someone who is used to the hustle and bustle of the bigger cities. We really enjoyed the single evening and would like to do it again, maybe for a longer visit.

A friend and I stayed one night at Cozy Cottages on our way to the West Coast. What an incredibly nice experience. We sat on the porch and drank coffee early in the morning and watched the sun rise in the distance over the Kamiesberge. Unbelievably beautiful view. Very good value for money. Very nice and spacious (we stayed in a four bedroom house). Weston who helped us is very cute. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful houses in the peaceful Kamieskroon. Very tidy and with everything needed for a comfortable overnight stay. All that's missing is a fan in the two front single rooms - although we didn't use it it was uncomfortably hot there in the afternoon with 40 degrees outside. The rest of the house was wonderfully cool thanks to the air conditioning.

We stayed one night at the end of the flower season in September 2020 and the flowers were still very beautiful. The house was spacious and well equipped with everything you need as well as an air conditioner. There was an indoor braai and several options to braai outside as well. Bring wood for braai or you can arrange with owners in advance. Nice porch in front with a large table for outside and nice views.
Shower in Lukas unit just spills a lot of water - everything around and outside the shower gets wet. Sugar container in Lukas unit was not clean inside - we used our own sugar - no chance for that tackled wet spoon of sugar. Bg. not such a big issue - had a nice stay.

I recommend cozy cottage, it's safe and central, as well as very clean and friendly.
As it was very cold, a heater would have been very welcome. The indoor braai didn't help much, but the hot water bottles for the beds were more than helpful.
We spent two nights here in the Lukas unit. It has the most beautiful view of the mountains from your porch, with a lovely indoor barbecue. Very well equipped with quality finishes and bedding. We will definitely stay here again.

We had a very nice stay. The service was very friendly. The house is fully equipped with everything you need. Everything is modern and doesn't look run down. All that bothered me a bit was the noisy fridge and every time the JoJo pump starts it makes a bit of noise.

Weston received us kindly and assigned us units (2). He seems to be solely responsible for the maintenance of the place. Both units were spotless. Quite an achievement for a young man! Friendly and efficient reception by the Caretaker, Weston. The cottages are ideally situated for the flower season (August/September) in order to explore the area. We stayed in Frances which is clean, comfortable, well-equipped for self-catering and highly recommended.
Michell Dreyer really went the extra mile to make the unit a luxurious place to stay. Everything is clean, wonderful, home from home, and even for the cold nights there was sufficient heating equipment available. The unit exceeded all our expectations. The manager, Weston, is a real asset to the management and maintenance of the units. A neat, very friendly and helpful person. The communications sent out by Michelle also exceeded all expectations. Everything punctually on time. The directions to get to the units, from the start of town to the unit could not be bettered. This should be a standard for all lodging owners in the country. A lock on the entrance gate may be recommended for extra security.
Cute and well-equipped cottage on the edge of town with an attached one, but we never heard our neighbours, every eventuality is catered for - a pool for a dip, air-con, extra blankets, hot water bottles, cooking or braaiing. The town is quaint, with the local café and garage straight out of the 70's and the little coffee shop full of hospitality as well as "Kamieskroon se Kos Kas" in Charlotta Street is a must, but the food must be pre-ordered, to meet the locals. We highly recommend Cosy Cottages for a stay and will definitely be back.

Nice stay, but the hot water system is not sufficient if two people want to shower on each other. Larger geyser will solve problem or set temperature of geyser, especially in winter months.
We had a very nice stay. However, there were two areas that may need attention. Although the bathroom was neat, comfortable and clean, we found the floor tiles to be exceptionally slippery due to the open shower. We had to be very careful not to slip on the wet floor. Although the website indicates that dinner and other meals are available on request, the person who received us told us unequivocally that this was not the case. Fortunately, we made provisions for dinner and were able to get breakfast at the hotel.

Kamieskroon is a beautiful base to enjoy Namaqualand. Cosie Cottages is a wonderful place to stay, well equipped and peaceful. Still, you're stuck on the N7. In kamieskroon you are not in the tourist crowds of Springbok and closer to Skilpad national park.
After a long day on the road, Kamieskroon Cozy Cottages was a real rest for the soul! Everything was nice and tidy with so much space and privacy! The place is also very cute "kitten" in terms of kitchen accessories! The owners were extremely friendly and helpful when we needed some wire to fix our bakkie, true MacGyver style. I would definitely be able to recommend Kamieskroon Cozy Cottages!

We only stayed one night in Kamieskroon on our way back to the Cape. The cozy cottage is very cozy and fully equipped - with many modern finishing touches. And an air cooler which was very welcome!

This is a really convenient stopover for entrance to Namaqua National Park, and helps to break the journey, especially if you have kids. The host was responsive and accommodating, the place was clean and well prepared. Nice comfy beds, well equipped, lekker braai area. We just couldn't get the aircon light to go off at night (we didn't need it as the cottages were cool), and it was quite bright, so we had to balance a cushion in front of it.

Stay was wonderful. The unit we got was very neat, clean and looked like it was relatively newly redone. The decor is beautiful. Kitchen very complete. We were 3 people - one slept on the pull-out sofa/bed in the lounge area. All criticism I can possibly give is that when the bed is pulled out and made up, there really isn't much room to move and of course no seat left. This unit is ideal but actually for 2 people (in the separate bedroom). The sofa bed should be seen as an emergency. The accommodation is beautifully furnished and very clean and tidy. This is definitely some of the best accommodation I have experienced in the Northern Cape.
The owners and staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them.

Michell is an excellent host and very helpful; to the extent of even being able to supply firewood for our barbecue after our late afternoon arrival. The two-bed cottage was quite spacious, comfortable, neat, clean and very well equipped with great attention to detail. The spotlight on the barbecue area was appreciated. No WiFi, but for one night this was not a problem. The cottage does not have security fencing, but seems to be in a safe area.

It is very dry in Namaqualand, but still it is very beautiful in the environment. You actually spend the night in the town and that gives you the feeling that you are not really a tourist. It is very pleasant and rightly called Cozy Cottage, It is very cosy. Before us, very important, was very wheelchair friendly. If you had questions, you could always go. Thanks

We just stayed one night in the cold month of July. Very friendly reception, and the house is small but well appointed. Fridge too small and uncomfortably positioned. The fireplace heated the place up nicely. Was just cold to braai outside the evening! Comfy beds and full DStv, nice for the rugby. Electric blanket would have been nice. Otherwise no complaints and will book again.
Our family had a great time staying here. The house is comfortable, clean and has a very nice view of the surroundings. It has all the necessary equipment in the kitchen, air conditioners to get the rooms warm (or cold) and electric blankets which we really needed in the cold weather. We immediately felt welcome.
It was the first night of our safari in the Northern Cape. And it was definitely a climax. Beautiful location on the outskirts of town, lovely surroundings with beautiful mountains and landscapes, must be quite a sight during flower season.
House is very clean and tidy with everything you need. What was unfortunate is that we did not get the cottage that was quoted. There were also builders on site working on the adjoining cottage until late in the evening. It disturbed our privacy and quiet a bit. It would be nice if the owner mentioned it with inquiry then we were prepared.
Place we stayed in is too small for two adults and two young teenagers, we were also not informed that my one daughter has to sleep on a sleeper couch. We feel it wasn't value for our money because they didn't have full DStv channels either. In the afternoon, a sewage smell came past our barbecue which makes you very nauseous, sewage pipe sits above the ground. Owners were not there either, person who manages place is friendly, but hospitality is still lacking. Would not recommend the place, only for the above reasons.

We had a warm reception and was informed about the attractions in the area and we decided to explore the area between Groenrivier and Hondeklip Bay. It was one big adventure and we can definitely recommend it.

What a wonderful place to switch off after a long day's journey. The place is clean and neat and more than fully equipped. An indoor braai for the winter and 2 outdoor braais for the summer. I would have liked if there were wood available if you arrive late in the afternoon - that can be handled by the person that handles the payments. Would really recommend it for people who are only looking for quiet and appreciate nature.

We were pleasantly surprised to find a unit in such a small town that was so well equipped and so neatly maintained. Many places advertise that they have DStv, but Kamieskroon was one of the few that offers the full package. Including the sports channels and M-Net. We stayed there on Tuesday night and again on Saturday night and were able to watch the rugby test between the Springboks and Australia. We will definitely stay there again in the future.

The chalet is big enough for two people, and a double bed would have been really nice. We were kindly received, could have a nice barbecue outside in the evening and all the necessary equipment was available. The finish is beautiful and modern, but the open field next to it with many pedestrians made us feel a little uneasy. Recommend that a higher boundary wire be erected. Also suggest that telephone numbers of persons who provide dinners on Kamieskroon be posted in the chalet.
Will again make use of it and recommend it to friends. Really nice and "cozy".

Got there a bit late in the afternoon and didn't see much. But the next morning we saw it was beautiful, just a pity it wasn't flower time. Was very peaceful and safe.

Cozy Cottages were easy to find. Very friendly reception, which one appreciates after 11 hours on the road. Our Cottage was beautifully decorated with lots of love. For those who did not bring food with them, there at the eating place you can get delicious food or drink good coffee at the coffee place. It's so safe.
We had a great stay and especially enjoyed staying in such a small town. Michell was very friendly! It was nice to hear about the history of Kamieskroon and the people. We do have one small suggestion - the braai facilities are very pleasant and we made a nice fire, we just needed chairs for outside to be able to sit by the fire.

There was a problem with sewage coming out of the shower at night, but would recommend it to anyone to stay there.

This cottage was by far our best accommodation on our 5 day trip (and we had some good and bad). it delighted my friends and I in every way we could wish for. The location is superb, with beautiful mountains around and with a natural wild flower garden. it was spotlessly clean, and kitchen and bathroom well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were spacious enough to handle 4 people and all our luggage easily. We will definitely use Cosy Cottages again and hopefully next time for a longer stay, so that we can explore the stunning countryside more thoroughly. Thank you.

Frances @ Kamieskroon Cosy Cottages can accommodate up to 3 guests and comprises 1 bedroom furnished with a queen-size bed and a sleeper couch, and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet. Linen and towels are provided.
The unit has an open-plan kitchen equipped with a bar fridge, a 2-plate convection stove and oven, a gas stove, a microwave, basic cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. It extends to the lounge furnished with comfy couches and a TV and features a cosy fireplace.
