The house can accommodate up to 15 guests and comprises 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen and living area. There are 2 bedrooms furnished with queen-size beds of which both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with showers and 1 with a bath as well. The third bedroom contains a double bed. The fourth bedroom contains 3 single beds. There are 2 loft-style bedrooms of which one contains a queen-size bed and the other with 2 single beds and 2 extra mattresses. The third bathroom contains a shower. The fourth bathroom has a corner bath and a shower.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and contains a stove, fridge-freezer, microwave, cutlery and crockery. The dining area has seating space for 10 people, while the lounge has a comfy lounge suite and a wall-mounted flat-screen TV. The oven should preferably only be used during the day because we make use of solar power and do not want it to drain the batteries at night and leave all the guests without electricity.
The house has a large built-in braai and also a fireplace for those cold winter days. There is also an outside braai. The garage has room for 4 vehicles and there is a laundry room outside.
For the hot summer days there is a swimming pool in the mountain building near to the house.
The location makes it ideal for people who want to come fishing at Gariep Dam and the Orange River. Fly fishing excursions can be arranged at exclusive locations along the river.

Kareeplaas was a very pleasant experience for us. The house is very well equipped with everything you need. The location of the house offers a beautiful view of the vast fields surrounded by beautiful mountains. A beautiful swimming pool in the rocks is something special. Our welcome was warm and provided us with all the information we needed to spend a pleasant weekend at Kareeplaas.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay, excellent facilities beyond our expectations, exceptional views and walks, great service from our hosts, we will definitely be back.

In the middle of nowhere, between the most beautiful karoo veld mountains and a kid or two with a badger here and there; that's where my rest found itself.

We had a great time as a family at Kareeplaas. The children enjoyed themselves and the pool and view are excellent. Rest for the soul. The Kareeplaas team has outdone themselves. Will definitely visit again.

We really enjoyed the visit on Kareeplaas! Well equipped house with everything one might need. The views are breathtakingly beautiful! Our teenage boys really enjoyed the mountain climbing and swimming in the water hole. The farm road is long but it was nice to drive quietly and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Everything was really just perfect, and we will definitely visit again, next time just longer.
Everything you may need is at home, just bring your food and clothes. Would suggest using ground clearance vehicle or 4x4 vehicle.
Stay more than one night. The view and location are amazing.

The journey to this house is long and the owner keeps the road in place as best as possible. The house is very large with spacious rooms. We were a party of 7 and there was more than enough room. Bathrooms are very neat and spacious. Beautiful views and very neat garden. Wonderful evening. Could easily stay there for a week.

It was an amazing experience for everyone to get out here and relax after a long journey. Silence that makes your ears ring and definitely a place to visit again. Renier you are the best, always kept us informed of what is there, the condition of the road and was on standby in the rainy season. The road to and from the lodge added to the experience. The house is high in the mountain with a beautiful view. Very neat and clean, all facilities are provided. Very beautiful bird and wildlife.
What an incredible experience. Located on a secluded piece of land. Renier met us at the road after some adversity. (Thank you for that). Lovely and comfortable house, friendly people. My highlight was the night visitors on the lawn. There were goats and bunnies every night. What a privilege. We come to swim in the summer.
Facilities are very good. Neat, clean and Bertie and Renier were really hospitable. It's so quiet and peaceful, and as I say the views, and sunsets are unbelievably beautiful. Ideal for mountain bike riders, people who love nature and just seek silence. We will definitely book again.

We had the privilege of sleeping over with two teenagers. The view was breathtaking and just natural beauty that surrounds you. Renier and the staff make you feel at home as soon as you step in. Kareeplaas will also be an ideal weekend getaway.
Ideal stopover between Pretoria and George. Slightly off the beaten track, quiet and peaceful with great views and swimming.

We had a great time at Kareeplaas - sorry we only stayed one night! It's wonderfully clean with all necessary amenities and friendly service. The unit is a bit far from the highway if you just want to sleep over and quickly fall down the road to the sea the next morning, but next time we will try to stay for 2 nights!
The service was excellent! The sleeping place is neat and clean. Dinner was five star! The pool was refreshing and the view breathtaking! Will definitely come again to recharge batteries here. A nice sleep over on the way to Mossel Bay.
